English intro:
A strange, pale-faced man named Jacques Cartier arrives on the shores of the Baie de Gaspé accompanied by a crew of 61 men. He raises a cross on the shore emblazoned with the French coat of arms.

To Iroquois chief Donnacona, whose 500 followers live just down the St. Lawrence, Cartier’s intentions couldn’t be clearer. But these settlers bring with them powerful weapons, advanced technologies, and promises of great partnership to come. All they want is to take Donnacona’s two sons back to France with him.

What would you do? Welcome the French as your newest allies? Or defend your homeland with extreme prejudice, and probably your life?

Whats next? You decide.

HistoriCanada lets you relive, replay and even rewrite Canada’s history. Play as the English to expand your empire. Play as the Huron to defend your homeland. Wage wars, make peace and explore new lands...the future of Canadian history is in your hand.

The mod will be released in three parts.
First part (the new world) will be released in the early February, I will post a link to the mod when everything is running smoothly :) .

The mod will require Civ3 Conquests and patch 1.22.

The mod includes very detailed civilopedia, extensive history knowledge, unique units, tech icons, wonders and building graphics. Here are pedia-pics of some of the units I've been working on for all the three mods.

Who are those people?

They're the people in charge of developing the mod. Cal is the one who has been keeping me busy from time to time.

Mind you, this mod/game is to be used to teach canadian history to the kids in schools of canada. So the historical accurasy is pretty high priority.

Aaglo has been a great key player in getting this thing looking as sweet as it does so far. A ton of time and effort by many people has made this even possible. Bitcasters is the gaming company that is behind the development of the package. Their efforts in generating the needed support, and driving the concept has made this a fantastic project to work on.

I hope it proves to be an enjoyable package once it is all completed. I have lost a lot more hair on this one :P

Wow, I had no idea this mod went ahead! I remember a while ago when the advertisement came up, and don't recall hearing anything about it afterwards.

Looks awesome!

My only prayer is that "Canadian" history manages to span "from sea to shining sea," instead of merely from the Atlantic to the Great Lakes. I remember hating Canadian history in school because it never had anything remotely to do with where I lived in Canada (i.e., "the West").

SO strange! I was just wondering the status of this mod. I was looking at google about an hour ago and on the search memory I had written aaglo Canada mod/ Warhammer looking for the link you gave me from our last disscussion on that thread.

Now I come back from my college transcripts and here it is!!!!

Nice work guys you art and strong pedia support makes a mean mod.!

THanks man. It bet its all going to be worth it. I only wish we had guys like you in charge of are curriculm when I was in high school up in Thunder Bay. I would have aced OAC history no prob. ARe history is so boring we are led to believe compared to our southern Neighbours. This is the perfect way to liven things up for todays young'ns

The Atlantic and Great Lakes region will certainly be the starting point of the project. But, through the three scenarios, I think you will be pleased.

aaglo, if you or your co-workers need any help on this, please let me know; I'll be glad to help! After all, i'm French Candadian, so I'm particularly interested in that mod! :) I could have some infos that may have not been available to English Canadians (history is not taught the same way in French and English Canada...).
Mostly, I could also help with static graphics, if needed. For instance, I modified the Native female popheads (the link for the PTW version is in my sig, but I improved it and removed the transparency issue on my PC). I won't be available until mid-February (when I finish my renovations), but if I could help after that, don't hesitate to ask me.

That's a natural starting point to be sure, but it's good to hear that the later scenarios will cover all of Canada. Wolfers, whisky traders, NWMP -- heck, even Sitting Bull came over for a little "visit"!

Looks great, aaglo.:goodjob: I wish this was around when I was in school. I'm sure it'll get the kids a lot more interested in history.

Thing is, kids these days don't like games like this, they like war games.

I like war games too, however I do enjoy Civ as well.

Hey they like any game thats not called reading a text book. Trust me the kids will be fighting over the time to play this. Its school, you ether sit and get taught or sit and play Civ what whould you choose!lol

Nope, kids of the modern day do not like games like this. According to them, it has no action whatsoever, and believe me, I know this, since I am 12.
