Super as in Super Hero v Super Villain type scenario.

This could be a city based scenario with lots of preplaced buildings (cities) like EFZI. Here is a brief outline:

FACTIONS

* The Authorities: The hapless, most times hopeless, civilian authorities led by Machiavellian Mayor intent on ruining the reputation of the super heroes.

* The Silver Crusader: Billionaire philanthropist with an array of gadgets. One time leader of The Crusaders, a super hero team who defeated Nemesis (or so they thought).

* Captain Stupendous: Muscle bound oaf. Nice teeth and hair but a bit short on brain matter. Once the Silver Crusader's right hand man but they are no longer on speaking terms due to an overly contrived and convoluted plot device.

* Dr Ego: Mad -cybernetically enhanced- scientist. Would be really, really dangerous if he wasn't so really, really deranged.

* Boss Goldtooth: Machinating, Criminal Mastermind in the mould of a Bond Villain.

* Nemesis: the world's most dangerous menace has returned to wreck vengeance on those who banished him to "The Plane of Blah, Blah, Blah". This is your stereotypical uber bad guy with a grudge against Capt Stupendous and The Silver Crusader.

* The Underlord: What lurks beneath the streets of New Amsterdam by day and brings terror to the City by night? The Underlord and his horde of minions of course.

* AOKI Corp: Japanese, Electronics and Robotics Conglomerate where profit produces big, mean robots and big, mean, robots produce profit! Ah, the Virtuous Circle.

* Fu Manzhu: A recent arrival to the City from the Mysterious Orient. Overnight Fu Manzhu gained control of Chinatown and its warring street gangs. He is rumoured to be searching for an Ancient Artefact that will gift the owner The Secret of Eternal Life.

* Klaus: Disgruntled, former, seasonal employee of the City's most popular Department Store. Klaus was fired for giving away too many presents. Years of destitution and depression followed but after a chance meeting with the sidewalk Klaus emerged with a fresh purpose and an indomitable alter-ego. He now steals from the rich to finance his Present Giving Profundity.

* NPCs: Non playable 'Heroes' and 'Villains'. Dotted around the map are "character" units which can be captured and "persuaded" to join the cause of any other faction (via unit upgrade).

UNITS
for all factions except Stupendous and Silver see attached pic

TECHS

Techs are spread over 4 eras but this is not a normal sequential era tech tree.

* ERA 1 POWERS

It's basically 4 chains of unit upgrades that will give the super heroes and villains SUPERior units (balanced slightly by cost).

See Post 42 for a description of unit upgrades.
See Post 47 for tech tree outline

LMR has made some techs for this era!

* ERA 2 (NO NAME YET)

This era is for the Authorities only. It covers the civic and ceremonial duties of mayor. Don't worry, however, this won't be like a game of Sim City because it also covers the machiavellian movements of a mayor keen to discredit super heroes as well as ridding the city of villains. The Authorities are the only faction able to build Workers and Settlers. Eventually, the Mayor will be able to hold Elections (GW) which introduces the possibility of a Diplomatic Victory.

* ERA 3 BASE BUILDING

This gives the villains (super or otherwise) and heroes a number of base building upgrades - mainly improvements e.g. Workshops, Comms Centres, Shark Tanks, Containment Cells, Strongholds, Fortresses, Auto Defense Systems, Perimeter Security etc etc.

See Post 112 for tech tree. See Post 115 for a list of Improvements & Wonders

* ERA 4 CRIMES

This era is accessible to the villains (Dr. Ego, Boss Goldtooth and Nemesis*). It mainly gives them the ability to build their henchmen but also some Great Wonders that autoproduce very big and nasty dangers not only to the city but to the world at large. Techs are along the lines of: Extortion, Machination, Sabotage, Espionage, Cat Burgalry, Assassination, Mutagenesis, Vaporisation, World Domination etc etc.

See Post 112 for the tech tree.

VICTORY CONDITIONS

Cultural: (Awe). Generate enough Awe and you win. This victory type will be the easier for the villains
to achieve because they are able to sacrifice captured units.

Space Race (Smear Campaign): Open to the Authorities. See Post 93 for more details.

Diplomacy: Elections: The Authorities can hold Elections (Wonder) which introduces the possiblity of a Diplomacy win.

Victory Points: Generate enough victory points and you win. End of Story.

Sounds...fascinating... :D Looks a bit like Austin Powers and Batman thrown together.

Now we need someone to make a unit with big muscles and tight bright-colored spandex and Mini-me. :p

How about some real superheroes.

Yes that's the level I'm aimining for - the Adam West type Batman of course.

Units will be a problem of course as well as leaderheads and most other graphics.

Sounds good fun. Clearly you'd also need a Mad Lab improvement, where your scientists can work on creating radioactive substances or vats of acid to fall into. And of course a Death Of Beloved Mentor tech, giving you extra determination, later to be followed by the Revelation About The Past tech, where you discover that the person who killed your beloved mentor was...

Nice ideas, especially the "storyline" type techs, I'll try and build on that.

Instead of "Culture Points", they should be re-named "Awe Points." The villain can "sacrifice" captured units to the Shark Tank or Futuristic Guinea Pig Lab to gain "Awe Points."

I did a trawl of the units and these are the ones I could come up with. None of which fit any of my Civ leaders so I may have to rethink them :(

I don't know about the Flash Gitz but they are appealing.
