That was my ever first unit made for Civ III.

Here is a Gladiator - the ancient bonus unit, which requires The Great Colosseum or Spartacus` Rebellion Wonders to be built, also requires Slavery advance.

The sword animation is made by CamJH. Also great thanks to all Poser stuff-makers for Civ3 - utahjazz7, odintheking, Plotinus, Kinboat, CamJH, Steph and many others. Their advices and help were very useful.

In my opinion, the unit desires to be more perfect and still has a work to do.

:hammer2:

Looks brilliant but is he a little large?

EDIT: Is that not Cam's sword attack though?

Awesome!

Quinzy, Sandris said it was CamJH's animation in the post right above yours.

Sandris, its customary to give credit in the opening post and the Readme file included with the unit. The credit should go to all the artists whose stuff you used. Its just a nice gesture.

I really like the unit alot, and I don`t think he is to large.

I opened his default animation, along with the Tribal Fantatic (oops.. typo. Fanatic + Fantastic? :hmm: ) and Germanic Worker ones, and he is just a bit taller cos of the crested helmet.

Sweet I hope you stick around.

Very good! Especially for a first unit. Even if you did use animations from the animation library, that's okay since you're learning. Now that you've grabbed the basics (very well in my opinion) I can't wait to see you do your own animations, :).

That's a great unit. There's already a Gladiator somewhere, but this one fits in much better with the game, I think. Definitely very impressive and especially for a first unit.

My only criticism is with the Death: it's very unrealistic for him to keel over like a felled tree but with his feet still glued to the floor. Deaths are always very hard to do, unfortunately...

Looks great for a first unit, Sandris, keep up the good work . Very nice choice of props and clothes, it looks very realistic. I hope to see more great units from you in the future!

That is THE fiercest sword attack animation I have ever seen! :goodjob:

Question to all: Would this fella serve well as a Iberic Scutatio stand in (until a historically-acurate one is made)?

BEfore he edited it he had Plotinus written though ;)
Oh, whoops.

COAtlantis1745, y'know, that might not be such a bad idea. I've got the Osprey Spanish Armies (Rome's Enemies) book, and it does kinda look like some of the Iberian warriors pictured therein.
