WOTM 15: Gandhi

This game MUST be played in Warlords patch version 2.13, as modified by BtS version 3.13. We will NOT accept any games played under any other patch versions, and you can't play it in vanilla (plain) Civilization4!

Any Windows players who have not installed BtS will need to update the relevant DLL files in order to match the Locked Assets checks. These are available here

Further, it MUST be played using the latest version of HOF mod for Warlords. This is currently version 2.13.001

One exception: Mac players will play in Warlords 2.08 with HOF-Mac-2.08.005, and do NOT require the changed DLLs.

The DLL files linked in the first post are required by all Windows players who do not have BtS installed.

Click the link to download a .zip file and unzip it. You will have a folder containing the following structure:

Find the corresponding Assets folders in your Civilization IV folder and its Warlords subfolder, and move the existing CvGameCoreDLL.dll files out and into a safe place in case you need to revert to your previous configuration.

Move each CvGameCoreDLL.dll file from the unzipped set into their corresponding Assets folders to replace the ones you moved out.

Warning To Mac Players Windows players please ignore this post.

The Mac start files I first released today were locked to the Assets in Warlords within a vanilla 1.61 Civ4 installation. I then realised (confirmed after a bit of testing) that they would not work for players who have updated vanilla Civ4 to version 1.74, since the game checks ALL the assets in the Civ4 config, not just the Warlords ones.

Since 1.74 is a free update, this is probably what most of you are running, so I decided we had better lock the start files to the 1.74 configuration.

Therefore, I have replaced the original Mac start files. If you downloaded one early today and it is giving problems, then please download again. If you download from now onwards and have problems, please make sure your Civ4 installation updated to version 1.74 and you have HOF-Mac-2.08.005 installed in your Warlords/Mods folder.

:hmm: The only assets folders I can find are in the HoF mod folders. Am I missing something?

You need to look in the places where your Civ4 and Warlords executable are. It is probably somewhere like \Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization IV\

Thanks.

Sorry, the link looks right. Dunno why it isn't working. Anyway, it's post #7 in the pre-game thread.

[EDIT] OK, fixed it

Sorry, I wasn't aware it was an option. As I said. Gyathaar developed the map, I just posted everything. I'll try to remember to ask if I have to do this again in the future.

That's where I was looking. :( Here's a screenie:

The only assets folders I see are in the HoF mods. Do the dll files go there?

if you don't see an assets folder under Sid Meier's Civilization 4, then you won't be able to play any games...that is a required folder for the entire program.
Your Sid Meier's Civilization 4 folder should have the following folders in it:
Assets
CvGameCoreDLL
Log
Miles
Mods
PublicMaps
Resource
Shaders
Warlords

And your Warlords folder should contain the same folders as the above one, except for the Miles folder.

If your Warlords runs OK then you must have another folder somewhere that contains the Warlords executable file. Do you launch Warlords using a shortcut that points to its .exe? If so, right click that shortcut and select 'Properties'. That will tell you where the Warlords .exe file is. It should be in a folder that contains Assets and all the other items listed by Thrallia.

Thanks AlanH. The 'properties' idea helped - these files are in 'documents and settings' for some reason AND some of the folders were hidden for some reason. :crazyeye: But I finally found the little buggers. As soon as I finish the PTW GOTM I'll play this one. :)

The DLL files linked in the first post are required by all Windows players who do not have BtS installed.

Does this include those of us who have updated Warlords to v2.13, but don't have BtS installed because I just downloaded the zip files and compared the dll's and they seem to be identical with those you say need replacing?

 The ways of Firaxis are mysterious. Maybe they've now rationalised the Warlords updater to use the same files as BtS.

The bottom line is - if you can load up the WOTM 15 start file then your DLLs are OK. If you get a Locked Assets error when you try to load the start file then you should change the DLLs.
