SGOTM 07 - A Tiny, Crowded, Deity OCC

Sign up here to join a Succession Team for this new Vanilla SGOTM.

Qin Shi Huang, Chinese Leader, finds himself sharing a tiny world with all the other vanilla Civs. He can only build or own one city, and the difficulty level is ... Deity!

All victory conditions are enabled, and the laurels for this contest will be awarded to the teams who achieve the earliest victory dates in the game. If there are not enough victories for the awards then they will go to those teams who survive the longest.

Versions
This game will be played in Civilization IV version 1.74, using HoF Mod 1.74.002.

Mac players are welcome, but they must form one or more separate teams, as the HoF Mod cannot be made to work cross-platform. They will use Mac HoF Mod 1.74.002.

The game will start on April 24th.

Please post in this thread if you wish to join a team and take part in the competition. The information required to place you in a suitable team is as follows:-

  2. Have you played any Civ4 GOTM games before?
  3. Have you played any succession games or SGOTM before?

Participation question:

I do not have internet access on Fri/Sat so I can not receive or post saves on these days. I can play on them though. Is that an acceptable restriction to impose on my team? I have never played an SG before.

If not, is it permissable to join a team for participation in strategy discussion only but never play a turnset?

That sort of restriction can normally be accommodated in a SG schedule. Just warn your team not to expect you to pick up or post a save on those days.

That's an option. Team members are not forced to play. There also seem to be a few people who like to cheer for a specific team, and become dedicated lurkers/posters in that team's thread. If you take on such a role you become a member of that team as far as the rules are concerned, so you must not read other team threads during the competition.

I want to join this game.

1. I normally play at Noble, Prince or monarch. Monarch is the highest difficulty level I have won. On noble i win like 99% of games, on prince like 80 %, on monarch, half of them. Dont know about higher difficulty levels, coz I have only tried Deity once, and it was mwilliams OCC, Aggressive AI, Deity game :D
2. Nope, I havent
3.Nope
4.Nope

Ok. I'll give it a shot decide with my team whether I should play or just comment.

1. Deity on HoF where I can pick opponents and no barbs. Immortal/Emperor otherwise.
2. No
3. No
4. EDIT: MW

I can't resist a fast vanilla SGOTM, even if it is DIE-ity.

1. I've never played above Prince until this month's GOTM, but I win 100% of the time there and early indications are I'll do just fine at Monarch given a decent start, so ... Monarch? I also follow directions pretty well. ;)
2. No.
3. Yes.
4. No preference, though playing on the same team as another staff member (if there are any others playing) would be cool.
