Patch 1.0.1.558

Is there a new patch today? My loading screen says my PC CiV is on version 1.0.1.558. I had a new patch installed today, but maybe it was the one from a couple weeks ago. I feel like I've played since the last patch.

I haven't found any news.

Moderator Action: ATTENTION: This patch was only accidentially released and has already been withdrawn. So there's currently no new patch out, it should read as version number 1.0.1.511

I got that one today, too, a 78.4 MB download. No patch notes, though, as far as I can see.

Doesn't seem to be any download for me...

...And my version number is still 1.0.1.511 . Hrm, odd. Apparently there's been changes to some natural wonders, text and the .exe files, according to a post at 2K

I'm able to turn quick move/combat during the game for both multiplayer and singleplayer. Maybe this was in the last patch - I'm not sure.

I just got a "Civilization V Loading..." screen when I started. Never saw that before today.

Trying to play with a friend. He's automatically downloaded the new 1.0.1.558. But I'm still 1.0.1.511. Any ideas how I can d/l this? Apparently, Steam's not auto-updating my Civ5.

Anyone have any ideas how we can petition to rid the world of Steam by any chance?

Those of you who have the new patch, can you search around in the files, particularily the natural wonders (Terrain) for anything relating to Mt. Sinai or Uluru?

I'm not at my gaming machine right now, so I can't check, but over at the Steam forums someone mentioned this:

I had a look at the updated files, there's a new .exe and .dlls, and updated/new files regarding wonders Mt Kailash, Mt Sinai, Sri Pada and Uluru. There also were changes to text in a few places.

Can't help with removing Steam, I'm afraid, but if your Civ5 isn't updating automatically, try what I did last week for 1.0.1.511. Right click it in the Library screen and select Properties. Then choose Local Files and tell it to Verify Local Files. That seems to provoke it into downloading changed files.

So how the hell do I get my friend to update to this version? Because I have 1.0.1.558 and he has 1.0.1.511. Mine auto updated and his did not. Seriously steam?

edit: verifying files as Alan suggested did not work.

Bravo steam, when my friend starts him you tell him Civ5 needs an update. You proceed to download said update. Then his version is still 1.0.1.511. Yep, gunna go play battlefield. thanks for stealing an hour of my night steam, you piece of ****

My partner got the patch on her machine too, but only several hours after me. Steam was having capacity issues all day long (ran into them around the time when CK2 got updated), so it may just take a bit longer. Presumably their network is a tad bogged down today.

Well i have now a Civilization 5 is loading Screen instead of only a black screen while loading the game
AND
there are a lot of Uluru and Sinai files in the Civ Folder...
Thats all i can say right now.
A few hours ago i just re-opened Stream and there was a ~ 80mb update :love:

I am from Europe btw.
