Challenge Thread

Post your specifically personalized Challenges for DoC here! A few pointers:

- You may pose your challenges as complete alternative UHVs, or as "side conditions" to official UHVs, Domination, Space Race, Diplo, etc. For example, the game in my signature, "Corporate Russia Domination", is a challenge where extra side conditions are posed in addition to Domination.

- You may specify or recommend game settings (speed, difficulty, etc) or not, but keep in mind that most people play on Monarch and (to a lesser degree) Normal Speed, so that your Challenge should have a nonzero feasibility on those settings.

- Keep in mind the UU, UB, most importantly UP of the Civilization your Challenge is involved with. As well as their historical flavor (Mayan Space Race is considered historical flavor).

- Challenges don't have to be difficult. It's most important for them to be fun!

Here goes a few ideas off the top of my head:

- Chinese Inventions: Win UHV as China, but also be the first to discover Iron Working, Currency, Horseback Riding, Education, Banking, and Medicine.

- NATO Challenge: Win UHV as America, while having at least 3 Defensive Pacts/Vassals from European civs.

- Mayans in Space: Win Space Race as the Mayans before all civs alive have entered the Modern Era.

- Banana Republic: Win UHV as any civ except England, while securing 12 Bananas (Do you like Bananas?!) and running Republic.

Holy Empire of Britannia.
As America, first change leader name to James
1:conquer North, South, and Central America, New Zealand, JapanArea 11, Middle East, and Hawaii,
Change Leader name to Charles once done.
2:THEN Lose Japan to declaration of Independce, and defeat the Black Rebellion...
3:THEN add Russia, Africa, France, Great BritainThe Homeland, Indonesia, and Either China or India.
Change leader name to Lelouch
4:AT this point, declare war on all surviving Nations,
5: AND CONQUER THEM ALL.
6:Now, Try and get stability to the point you can run democratic governments without collapsing.
Once you begin civic change, change leader name to Nunnally.
Good job. You have now finished playing Civ 4: Rhyes and Fall: Code Geass. To bad you don't get giant mechs to use.
NOTE: Can not use democratic governments til step 6. NO RAZING. After 1859, No state religion allowed. Not even after step 6. Still allowed to spread for getting temples. Instead your people will be ultra-social Darwinist...

Hey, it's historical in one universe
Likely the hardest challenge that will be posted, as Japan IS RequirEd to try and make a attempt to regain Independce before you can continue on. Aztec,Incan, AND Mayans don't count towards that step. Then there is the fact you have to then conquer everyone. And turn democratic I.e. get ride of the social darwinist policies. Better hope you do things well.

The Third World Alliance:

Win a domination victory in the modern era as one of the following (with the others as vassals/defensive pact members)

The Aztecs (You may have to wipe out the Maya.)
The Mayans (Ditto, for the Aztecs)
The Incas
The Congolese
The Indonesians
The Khmer/Thai

Bonus points for a European invasion!

I've never tried this and would like to try this sometime if its doable but here it is

Hidden Warfare

Collapse a civ (can be scalable if feasible) without using conventional military (using spies or privateers)

- Barbary Pirates: Start as Moors, have capital in Algiers, Tunis, or Tripoli (you don't have to build the other two though, merely control the tile that they are on). Sink 20 other ships. Use Privateers to gain 10000 gold from piracy.

Play Italy, do the UHV well, use spies to change civics of a large adjacent country with spies (city states is a great way to kill large countries, so is representation). I usually kill 1-5 cities as Italy peacefully.

Marines Hymn: As America conquer the Shores of Tripoli (Tripoli, Tunis, and Algiers), and the Halls of Montezuma(Mexico). hold them til the end of the game without losing them one to European powers. Optionaly, Also occupy Iceland and Conquer Japan (at least Edo/Tokyo must be owned by the USA.)
Basically, Play out the Marines Hymn. The Optional sections have to do with its unofficial segments that deal with WW2. The shores of tripoli reference the Barbary wars. Monty's halls the mexican American war.

- Revere the emperor, expel the barbarians: As Japan, destroy or vassalize all European civilizations.

-The Celestial Empire of China: As China, conquer China, Tibet, Mongolia, Manchuria, Vietnam,Korea, Central Asia and vassalize India/Mughals, Khmer and Japan

World Revolution: AS the USSR, conquer all of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and convince all cigs to run socialism and state property. 4 of them must be vassels and 2 of them must have Defensive Pacts with you.

"不戰而屈人之兵/Conquering the Enemy Without Fighting":

Win Diplomatic or Domination victory as China or Japan, without ever declaring war on another civ (Defensive Pact declares don't count). You can enable Always Peace custom scenario or not.

I dont think this needs mentioning, but i think its still a good idea to mention that some Challenges WILL NOT BE ALLOWED i think. Most obvious is that i don't think we will EVER allow a Final Solution Challenge. It would be so disrespectful its not even funny. AND WRONG.
However, challenges related to the 3rd Reich are allowed. we just will forbid certain challenges due to what is involved is extremely controversial or just wrong (the Holocaust being both).
Now to proposing a challenge:
Lebensraum
As the Third Reich, Conquer Europe, ALL RUSSIAN CITIES , and Africa. Either Vassalize or Conquer America, Inca, Maya, and Axtec. Then find a way to not collapse under the strain of your large empire. NO nation can run communism (either state-properity or socalism) or capitalism (just capitalism. Free market is allowed). all must run totalitarianism. Have Largest Military, GDP, Industry, Crop yeild and culture.
Optional: Largest Pop.
Optional Crack Objective: Convert to Judaism if version allows ...

seems like running socialism should be allowed for that last one (nazi = national SOCIALISTS)

how about Alexander's Ambition:

in addition to the UHV territory goal, conquer all of India
optional1: conquer italy and north africa too
optional2: conquer china!

Just thought of this one:
Ragnarok
As the Vikings, win a OCC conquest victory (AKA razing every city), and have your capital be a population of 1 and be unhappy and unhealthy. Then launch at least 20 nuclear missiles, one of which must land in Scandinavia.

Play as Phoenicia, with your only city at Jerusalem for the whole game. You choose the rest.

If im not mistaken, that causes your civ to be considered to be running communism though. And they were actually practicing whats called Corporatism. Basically State Capitalism, which is represented in-game as Totalitarianism (or at least best represented by).

...what about Holy Cities. I dont think they can be razed (which is stupid. they when founded by AIs tend to be horribly placed)

Well it was actually fascism, but that's not very well represented in the civics. Closest I can think of would be capitalism or totalitarianism (totalitarianism for the Reich, not necessarily all fascist states), autocracy, supreme council(?), free market(?), and any stability civic.

I think capitalism is really the best representation but for Germany/Italy/Spain totalitarianism is necessary.
