Ok, as this has been discussed to death, I'll skip the courtesy and go to the variant:
Code:
-BW can't be teched, stolen or traded ( this includes war spoils ) while you can tech anything else

Simple enough isn't it ?

The starting save and map can be found here

First thing I did was to move the warrior SW:
Spoiler :

And then I gave a really long look at the situation regarding if I should try to move and settle anywhere besides IBT and what we should tech ...

First of all I decided to SIP. I would probably prefer to settle near a river ( and we could keep all the known goodies settling 1NW ), but I wanted to not lose time and to have a worker out ASAP ( to avoid forests spreading too much ) and that is better acheived settling in place.

Second thing, the tech path. I've gone here:
Spoiler :

My reasoning was to get a worker out and farm the corn and mine the plains hill while teching AH, that we need ASAP ( horses + pastures for cows ). Unfortunately the game decided to laugh at my face and made a forest spread to that plains hill in t2 or 3 ( can't recall ) Oh well, we still have that grass riverside hill ...

Anyway, more interesting news:
Spoiler :

Oh, lovely, a Pro neighbour .... you can see his scout in the bottom of the pic, right below the diplo window ...

Nothing more happened worth telling until we got Mining. Here is a known world map:
Spoiler :

To the north there is a pretty decent food spot. Now we only have to know how to use it without slavery ...

LK is up and save is here

I recommend SIP and Mining>BW to start :mischief:

Ouch! This will be a toughie! So many unimproved tiles without BW (and no whipping with double cow and corn)

Interesting. Sub'd :) Btw, these games seem interesting, mind if you add me to the list for the next SG you put up? :)

WOW - this map is major nasty for this variant. Was hoping for a decent amount of flat lands.

Taking a look now.

That was really short set. Not use to loading a start at turn 11.

3600 BC
I didn't realize select religion was one. Very weird to hear the Islam sounds this early.
And Saladin of Arabia converts to Islam. :crazyeye:

Summary:
Animal Husbandry and a warrior complete in 1 turn.

tagging :-)

you could maybe LK do 1 more turn to show horses :-D.

I suppose we start settler size 3 while improving cows...

from my experience 1 worker will be enough for veeery long time...

if we build the mids we can bulb 200 AD Feudalism...isn't it great?

Got it. I hit end turn already to check for horses. We have none. :( evil mapmaker indeed.

So techpath Hunting > Archery?
Builds: Warrior > Settler?

We need more then just warriors, so archery sounds good.

Sent the warrior to the forest area with pigs - I would like to know what is done there.

Archery? Well OK, unless we want to cottage that riverside grass before it gets overgrown. We'll have a really hard time with this map w / o BW :crazyeye:

Played until the settler was in. We got another forest growth (plains). Archery will be done in 4t.

I also found Sally's borders not too far away from us. And a city site with 3fish and pigs... if only we could whip.

Spoiler Overview :

Settler is unmoved

Save is attached.

EDIT: I just notice that I zoomed out too far to show Sally borders. He's about 15 tiles east of us.

ugh that means I am up? will look into it tomorrow... finished today mediocre time with challenger game 04 so should have some time.

ok checking the save and forming kind of PPP

Settler

I would settle 1SE of rice, 1N above lake, 1NE of stone our city 2, advantages are rice (which should be wet after CS), improvable stone and couple of hills. should form strong city 2

I would probably move with warrior towards spot 2 with settler

Capital

finishes warrior for defense, starts worker, maybe will make 1 more turn on another warrior to grow to size 4 since we should have 4 improvements soon

worker micro

worker finishes mine and then moves to improve city 2 with the plans of new worker from capital roading towards city 2 and we run city 2 without TR's for a while

Techs

archery->masonry

^^I think that sounds fine. Will we go for the Mids then to bulb Feud? :)

We also gain calendar resource. Can we get to calendar without bronze? I don't have the game at work to look at it.

We can. It needs Sailing and Maths.

oups kind of late :p
I get lost in the thread translation, thanks sengir :)

I took a look and began to cry.
Is this map was really made with the idea of no forest cut?

with a forested capital and a very good second city spoiled because of jungle on the pig, we are in great position...
well, this will be a chalenge. However, as i still do not get the whole interest to skip BW, i will follow orders on global strategy until i understand something.

on short term startegy:
ok with plan of vran

we xwill need to build a production city west of capital.
So many hill that can be mined...
