DoC PBEM never never ever?

I am sure this was discussed before, but could Leoreth, please, outline for us how impossible is it to adopt DoC for the most simple case of Multiplayer -- Playing by Email. I mean Rhye made a stand alone mod for multiplayer for his vanila RFC, but what if one does not need all the simultaneous playing and timers. Something as simple as PBEM, lets say 4 human players starting in 600 AD: China, Vikings, Byzantium and Japan. Trying to score victory by any way possible. Ultimate challenge for so many RFC experts :D Another Pacifist playing against Tomorrow's Dawn -- I could donate few espionage points to watch that game :mischief:
 
I would love this, I would be really interesting to see multiple people taking on weak Civilizations and messing up the map bigtime.

Or multiple people taking on all the civs in one theatre of the world: Khmer, Tibet, China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia and a late-coming Mongolia... ooh la la. Oh, the diplomacy!

Diplomacy is a game that is suited to PBEM. Can't see myself how RFC/DoC could be?
 
Wasn't the biggest problem with RFC multiplayer something like "haha, I'm Babylon, I win before you're even born?"

You could disable UHV? And you usually play with people you know, so you could make clear arrangements to prevent this kind of 'cheating'.
(You could also do a game featuring the HRE, France, England and Spain as human players, as their spawndates are reasonably close to each other)
 
For UHV I gave you perfect example: China, Vikings, Byzantium and Japan. All starting in 600 AD. Any way is a good way to win!
 
But what If I want to be Italy, England, France, the HRE, Russia, Spain, or Portugal? RFC MP would be great if it worked, but it doesn't. Unless we add several scenarios for different starts, you can't please everyone.
 
We need to start with something right? Technically it must be possible to play with , say, two people from the start and then England will join them later...

I am really surprised Leoreth did not comment yet. He usually checks his subforum rather diligently... And there is no Thanksgiving in Germany, as far as I know :D
