Brave New World Info Links

My 2006 Mac Pro can't be upgraded, but runs Gods and Kings perfectly. Of course, If Apple finally gets a new Mac Pro out the door, I won't have this problem with Brave New World.

That's a confusing post. What problem does Apple need to solve if your computer runs G&K perfectly?

...Aspyr lists only Lion and Mountain Lion for Brave New World and my Mac Pro can't be upgraded past Snow Leopard.

I'm running a 1st generation MacPro on Lion. Mountain Lion is the only version that I can't run because it needs 64 bit Boot ROM

I got the definite word from Aspyr: "Brave New World will only be supported on OSX 10.7.5 and 10.8.3."

I didn't upgrade to Lion because it would have killed some older software I still use. I will replace it when I get a new machine, but not before.

Why not create a separate Snow Leopard partition for the older stuff?

I did that so I can run older PPC (rosetta) games.

Not enough hard drive space. I still have 2 X 250 GB drives (one for Time Machine). I don't want to put any more money into this machine since I will be replacing it this year - either with the new Mac Pro (if it ever appears) or the next high-end iMac. Somewhere along the line, I lost the enthusiasm for playing with the machines that I used to have (yes, I AM old). I still enjoy Civ, though.

Nine new leaders are introduced in the Sid Meier’s Civilization V expansion, Brave New World, including Casimir of Poland. Who do you think the other eight leaders are?

Thanks. I wasn't sure why you were posting all this stuff here, but it seemed harmless - if pointless :)

BNW coming to Mac OS same date then windows, realistic or just a marketing pitch to keep us salivating? Any (serious) insights anyone, and no not just some random googled link is what i am looking for. AspyrRyan, you got any involvment ?

The pre-order on Steam is currently listed as Windows only. If I pre-order the game now, will I be able to download the Mac version when it comes out? Any precedent with Gods and Kings?

Steam purchases are normally cross platform versions. Original Civ5 and Gods & Kings both were.

Aspyr's Game Agent are also offering the Mac version for pre-purchase. USD 26.99, arriving July 12.
