Well, here's my recently completed modern day New Zealand scenario. Accurate city, resource, road, railroad placement on my pretty classy map of NZ *cough* arrogant *cough*.

map.gif

8 regions (civs)
- Northland
- Waikato
- Taranaki - King-Country
- East Coast
- Wellington
- Canterbury
- West Coast
- Otago

I've made flcs for each of the leaders:
Helen Clark
Bill English
John Banks
Bull Allen
Barry Crump
Dame Kiri
The Wizard of Christchurch

I'll post them further down, since all together they are too large to upload (it just makes the scenario so much more classy)
You will need them, if you don't want the scenario to crash.

-----------------------------
Just done some updates to the scenario
Updates in Version 1.1

- Made most units that require aluminium, to require iron instead (since there is none in NZ)
- Fixed up Lake Taupo and the Central Plateau
- Fixed up the Waiarapa
- Added some more coal and iron resource in the southern alps and central north island
- Reduced the size of Taupo
- Added a secret resource
- Changed "Wellington" to "NZ Government"
- Added some maori resistance in the North Island
- Added in some more rivers in the North Island

-------------------------
Fix0red in Version 1.2

- Problem that because of the civ colour selection, Tauraunga and Auckland were beaten on the first turn.
Fixed it simply by reorganising the colours for each civ. (what a strange problem)
- Changed the race_civ properties, to be race_english for female leaders and race_germans for other civs
That way, the game won't crash when it's been beaten (though it annoying seeing figureheads of bismarck and Queen Elizabeth. I'll fix it later.)

And here are the flc files for

Dame Kiri
Barry Crump
The Wizard

Please, let me know what you think of the scenario, I'm keen to make improvements.

Hey, I played your scenario and I like it a lot. Very accurate city locations, and good to see that you didn't load the country with units at the start, considering that NZ has a practically non-existent military

I've tried to add resources as accurately as possible. Unfortunately there is no aluminium or rubber in NZ.
I think I'll simply just find a way around that. Because NZ could potentially produce armour. I've replaced oil with gas, and there is wine. Though I might add some marajuana in the North, as Northland's economy is pretty much based on the stuff.
I'll also make it possible to put cattle on hills (as half of NZ hills are sheep farms)

And yeah, I'll increase the size of lake Taupo as it's a bit too small methinks.

cheers,

Looks very promising. I installed it all and was raring to go as the charismatic Winston Peters or the pugnacious John Banks, but alas I was cut short . . .

After the scenario configures I get the message that I have suffered a humiliating conquest loss - after 4 seconds! What's with that? I've tried to take off the conquest victory requirement but it still does it. Suggestions?

Well I'll be damned...you're right!

It still seems to work with Helen Clark...
hmmmm. I'll have a look and get back to you :)

OK. I've fix0red it now. The problem was that for some reason the combination of the primary and secondary colours for Auckland and Waikato weren't compatable. Really, really, really weird. But I rearranged the colours and it works perfectly now :)

Thanks jdonkin for pointing out the problem.

Is there even a marijuana/hemp resource? If there is I must have it..

Your scenario looks great and by looking at your screenshot the map looks extremely accurate. Too bad I don't have PTW.

That would be Northland's primary economic industry (The land North of Auckland)

But should be placed all over the north island especially around Hastings & Whangarei .

JAH

Yeah, the entire northland economy is based around the stuff. Apparently a study was done by Auckland university, and according to official wealth figures, northland living standards should be third world.

Blessed is the marujuana
