OOC: Day one hasn't begun yet, but you can post, and Jaremma, I will count your vote unless you choose to change it later. Sorry for my lack of organization, but the day one update shall be posted!

Day 1 Begins:​

With the ring of power, Sam was invisible and unseen. But he himself saw and heard all:
Shelob bubbling in her lair and the cries and shouts of Orc-voices, and the murmur of water, far away in the Morgul Vale. The orcs had Frodo! And how could he be the ringbearer without Master Frodo?

Gorbag: "Bad Buisness, see here -our silent watchers were uneasy more than two days ago, that I know. But my patrol wasn't ordered out for another day, nor any message sent to Lugburz either.: owing to the Great Signal going up, and the High Nazgul going off to the war, and all that. And then they couldn't get Lugburz to pay attention for a good while I'm told."

Shagrat:"The eye was busy elsewhere, I suppose, Big things going on away west they say."

But amongst the voices of the orc captians, a glimmer of hope arose.

Shagrat: We'll see. Come on now! We've talked enough. Lets go and have a look at the prisoner!

Gorbag: Whar are you going to do with him? Don't forget I spoted him first. If there;s any game me and my lads must be in it.

Shagrat: Now, now, I have my orders. And its more than my belly's worth, or yours, to break 'em. Any trespasser found by the guard is to be held at the tower. Prisoner is to be stripped. Full description of every article, garment, weapon, letter, ring or trinket is to be sent to Lugburz at once and to Lugburz only. And the prisoner is to be kept safe and intact.

Gorbag: Stripped, eh? What, teeth, nails hair and all?

Shagrat: No, none of that. He's for Lugburz, I tell you. he's wanted safe and whole.

Gorbag: You'll find that difficult, he's nothing but carrion now. What Lugburz will do with such stuff I can't guess. He might as well go in the pot.

Shagrat: You fool, Carrion! Is that all you know of Her Ladyship? When she binds with cords, she's after meat. She doesn't eat dead meat, nor suck cold blood. This fellow isn't dead.

He isn't dead! Sam felt as if the whole dark world had turned upside down. "You fool, he isn't dead and your heart knew it. Don't trust your head, Samwise, its not the best part of you. The trouble with you is that you never had any hope. Now what is to be done?"

Sam followed the orcs into the tower, and eventually found the main gate, where he discovered that the orcs now fought amongst themselves. Gorbag sought the mithril coat, but Shagrat refused to abandon his orders (which, he hoped, he could get rewarded for following). Their squabble escalated into a war between the two orc armies.
Now, as the orcs fought amongst themselves Sam snuck in to find Frodo. A hobbit gardener in a far off land, with the future of the world on his shoulders.

The winner of today's battle will receive:

Mithril shirt:

Valuable armor of mithril, light yet durable, and the subject of the squabble between the orcs, this shirt has helped get Frodo through this far and will give whoever bears it a better chance in any battle.

Effect: +2 Strength to bearer. Whoever wins the battle on day one will get this item.

Vote for battle and for the lynch!:

OOC Rules Clarification: You vote for a lynch from one of your own orc faction, and you vote for a combatant from your own orc faction. Hence both factions will nominate a combatant, and both factions will lynch from amongst themselves (or no lynch). So Jaremma, please change your battle nomination vote to someone from your own orc faction.

Wait, can we Battle people from either faction or just our own? The rules aren't clear on that.

The main battle is always between people of opposing factions. You can only nominate a person to battle from your own faction, so Jaremma's battle vote is currently illegal. (see OOC Rules Clarification at the end of the update)
