All throughout the run of CityIOT, I kept bugging CivO to let us have a colony in the mountains so we could actually get some freaking resources. Well he said no, so now I'm making my OWN colony! With blackjack! And hookers! Therefore I am introducing:
Fortress IOT
You are a dorf. Your king sent you out into the middle of nowhere (seriously he looked up "nowhere" on google maps and sent you out to it) to form a colony with a bunch of other dorfs. Trouble is, you're all manic-depressive alcoholics. On the bright side, you have a beard.
Make a dorf and say what kind of skills you have. I'm not going to keep track of every damn thing so just pick one thing to be really good at and two to be okay at. And yes, swimming is a skill. Migrants will arrive every season based on a combination of RNG and bullcrap. If you convince them you're the coolest dude ever, you get to control their actions.
You have enough food for a year. If you're a miner, soldier, hunter, or lumberjack, you already have your own tools. This is going to be a lot less resource-intense than DF. Basically CityIOT on a smaller scale.
You will elect the Expedition Leader, who will come up with a general plan. At a certain point, he'll become mayor and there will be a yearly election. Unaligned NPCs and PCs who don't send in orders (or if it doesn't go against what they want) will follow the general plan. Like if he says to brew and the brewer only says to throw a party, you all won't die of sobriety. Turns will be a week at first, then a month, and then be like a season (but always ~a RT week if college doesn't get in the way (it will)) after the colony is fully self-sufficient.
Please don't murder other PCs until the colony is self-sufficient.
