The end of Jumpmasters 1B saw a small group of bloodthirsty Mongol khans looking around, wondering what to burn... ehm, to do next.
Imagine -one of them had almost run out of succession games!
He would no longer be up it at least three or four at the same time!!
A deity game was felt appropriate, with Space Race as the victory condition. There was the desire to try a practice game with a focus on fast tech progression; we looked for a good introduction to Deity, and for a game that would offer a meaningful comparison in terms of SR finish date.
To make this short:
we are going to replay GOTM20 - Spain, and we are aiming at the fastest Space Race victory that we can achieve.
Our reference is therefore Kemal's launch date of 1275 AD
Kemal is a real specialist of SR victories (just look at his awards...), so I think that even getting within a few hundred years of his date would be a good result.
We will of course follow the GOTM rules -no need to type lots of do's and don'ts
For the game specifics, I shamelessly copied the basic info from the original GOTM20 announcement page (why do the work twice if the first one is good already?
)
The game settings are:
Civilization: Spain (Spanish)
Difficulty: Deity
World size: 5000 tiles
Landmass: Continents, 55% Water
Geology: Mystery
Environment: Mystery
Barbarians: Mystery
Rivals: 10 Preset
Upgrade Swordsmen/Longbows: ON
And this is the sarting position:
