This is the Senior Councilmember At-Large election thread. You may want to refer to the Debate Thread or the Nominations Thread.

Candidates:
chiefpaco
Citizen_K
crabapple
Daaraa
immortal
marshalljames
Ohwell
Stravinski

The runner-up of the election will be the Junior Councilmember At-Large for the position.

I can't believe I didn't notice that Immortal didn't already occupy one of the "better" positions ! (too many double negatives? I thought so.)
This is truly someone who is much more qualified than anyone on this list, known by everyone, and running for a major position.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I fear that Immortal might get 99% of the votes (which he should IMO get) and the other candidates (myself included) vote for themselves, thus dividing the pitiful 1% of the vote amongst themselves with 1 vote each. This would make sense, as Immy has much more experience and name recognition, especially with the Cabinet who he has worked with and had a long-running relationship with.

<Reader please note: the purpose of this message has been to whine about the better candidate and try to make myself feel better for voting for myself. Thank you for indulging me for a moment ;), and Immortal, please accept my apologies for whining. Yes, I would enjoy some cheese.>

Oh think nothing of it, however we should keep in mind that both at-large positions should be elected. As we have a junior and a senior position. Although runner up will still work, there are 2 people that I wish to vote for.

Think nothing of it K! Best of luck to ya!

Fair enough, for next time: Is it possible to vote 2 times on a poll? or will we have to seperate the polls into a junior and a senior? In the constitution it says runner up does become the junior. My concern is that because both of these positions have cabinet votes, and they are simply the voice of the people in the cabinet vote. They both require the peoples majority acceptence.

I wanted to vote for two people as well. The constitution reads to the effect that the nominee with the most votes is the 'Senior" member and the runner up is the 'Junior' member. I don't think the constitution (as written) prohibits us voting for 2 nominess - that is a matter of how the constitution is interpreted. As written the constitution does not seem to allow for seperate nominations for each At-Large seat.

For future reference, is the poll capability of the forum such that we can post a poll that allows us to vote twice?

Even if not, there could be two identical polls and we can then add the results.

No. In the future, I think they should be considered different positions and be nominated and elected separately.

BTW, Daaraa has withdrawn from the race for Councilmember. If Daaraa was your vote, let me know who you would like your vote changed to.
