UAE - United Arab Emirates

Background
The Trucial States of the Persian Gulf coast granted the UK control of their defense and foreign affairs in 19th century treaties. In 1971, six of these states - Abu Zaby, 'Ajman, Al Fujayrah, Ash Shariqah, Dubayy, and Umm al Qaywayn - merged to form the UAE. They were joined in 1972 by Ra's al Khaymah. The UAE's per capita GDP is not far below those of the leading West European nations. Its generosity with oil revenues and its moderate foreign policy stance have allowed it to play a vital role in the affairs of the region.

Small ICBM Bunker(holds 1)= 15 credits*, ****

UAAI RCT Light Amphibious Tank - Good attack, poor defence, can cross small straits of water**

UAAI RCT Heavy Amphibious Tank - Excellent attack, poor defence, can cross small straits of water**

***** Marines unit was formerly known as Mujahedin.

UAAI: United Arab Arms Industries, established in September 2002, to minimize the need of UAE to purchase arms from foreign nations (mainly Russia, USA and the UK). It's designs include the world renouned UAAI 105 Anti Tank Gun, and the high-tech UAAI RCT Heavy Amphibious Tank.

August 2002 - Prelude to war. As the tide of refugees coming in across the undefined border with Oman, President Zayid ordered the formation of the 1st Infantry Division. The 1st Infantry duties will be, amongst other tings, to help contain the refugees to Oman and help those who have already gotten in to the country. Reports of Omani rebels crossing the border to raid local villages have also been increasing, and it has worsened the already high tensions between Oman and UAE.
War is declared. A rebel posse from Oman raided the small village of Eiharat, however the UAE Army had soldiers nearby that managed to intercept the posse on the Omani side of the border. Those who surrendered was brought back to Al 'Ayn for interrigation. Officials from Oman claim 'UAE incursion in to Oman territory was uncalled for'. Captured Oman rebels claimed to be backed by Oman's goverment, and funded by them to destabilize the UAE. In response to the Oman intrusions, President Zayid ordered a full invasion of Oman to liberate the nation of its opressors.
Invasion sucessful! As the UAE Army invaded Oman, their weak army crumbled in the desert sand, only in the capital of Muscat did they manage to put up a good fight, inflicting 47% casualties on the 1st Infantry. The 1st Infantry is to remain on guard in Oman to quell any rebels loyal to Qaboos bin Said Al Said.

September 2002 - Massive recruitments. New recruits are being sent to Muscat to replace the lost lives of the 1st Infantry. As the brave warriors they were, they are now besides Allah in paradise. A new infantry regiment have also been trained in Abu Dhabi, and has been ordered to guard the Saudi Arabian border. Also a group of fanatics have volounteered to form the 1st Fanatic's, and are being funded by the UAE.
Saudi Arabia repels invasion! In a sudden attack the martyrs of the 1st Fanatic's sacrifised themselves in order to take down a Saudi Infantry Division, the 2nd UAE Infantry followed in and were on their way to Riyad when a Mechanized Infantry Division caught up with them, a battle ensued and finaly the 2nd Infantry withdrew after taking heavy casualties but not without inflicting casualties on the Saudi's however. UAE Secretary of Defence, Adel el Shaiah, was quoted saying 'They (Saudi Arabia, Ed. remark) only won a Pyhric victory, we will be back, and in greater numbers.'

October 2002 - Conscription for war, Saudi Arabia falls! Two Infantry Division's supported by the 1st Artillery Regiment invaded Saudi Arabia earlier today, this great victory was celebrated throughout UAE, and in some parts of Saudi Arabia aswell. Saudi Arabia's immense oil riches will come in handy for the UAE. When the Saudi royal family surrendered, they have been sent to Umm al Qaywayn to stand trial charged with violent resistance.
Saudi rebels continue fighting. It is predicted that it will take two divisions 7 months to root out the remaining goverment forces whom have taken to guerilla warfare in the mountains. Unfortunately the 3rd Infantry was annihilated during the battles, but remember that they were all loved by Allah and their families. Also half the 1st Infantry suffered some casualties along with the 1st Artillery. The 2nd Infantry was ordered to move in to Saudi Arabia following the invasion force to help stabilize the region.
Holy cities remain undamaged. The sacred cities of Mecca and Medina were taken peacefully, and parades are scheduled next month in named cities.
Communists on the rise in Yemen! In other news, as the goverment forces are loosing land in the civil war in Yemen between the Armed Forces and the YPLF (Yemen Peoples Liberation Front), President Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan said at a pressconference that he 'hoped and prayed that Yemen's goverment will come out victorious from this nightmarish civil war'.
Historical agreement signed. Also, a military alliance was signed with Turkey, to ensure the continued safety of both countries.

November 2002 - UAE NOT safe from terrorism, declaration of war as result! The mosque in Dubai was blown up today by a suicide bomber believed to be from the christian parts of Jordan. Jordan's failiure to strike down on terrorist organization's in its contry resulted in the bombardment from the 1st Artilley, and attack by the battlehardened 1st and 2nd Infantry now at full strengh with the arrival of fresh recruits.
Jordan defeated, UAE the unstopable war-machine? The Jordan Army was defeated after a short battle, only after destroying the brave 2nd Infantry.
President honours lost lives. President Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan said the the next Infantry Divisions to be trained will be name 2nd and 3rd Memorial Infantry to commemorate the brave warriors of the 2nd and 3rd Infantry
Recruitments and troop movement. The 4th and 5th Infantry took up defensive positions within Saudi Arabia, to fight off rebels loyal to the Saudi Royal Family.
Saudi royal family convicted of high treason! The Saudi Royal Family stood trial, with all defendants being expelled from UAE and all it's territories. The king Fahin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud was sentenced to 50 years in prison, wich will be served at the notorius Al Fatwa Prison Camp outside Qutuf.
Civil war in Yemen continues. The YPLF continues to advance in the civil war, and UAE vice president Maktum bin Rashid al-Maktum said that if the YPLF continues to destabilize the region, UAE would have to move in with force. The Islamic Union Parade. On the brighter side though, was that the parades in Mecca and Medina were huge sucesses, with over 50.000 people participating, and no sign of the Saudi Royal Rebel Forces (SRRF).

December 2002 - Communists take Sanaa, UAE comes to rescue. The YPLF took the Yemen capital city, Sanaa, after a bloody battle that had been raging for weeks. Leader of the YPLF, Hussein Al Mezhedin, declared his intention of bringing all of the Arabian Peninsula under (his) communist rule. According to UAE's policy not to respond lightly to threats, the 1st Armoured Division was called upon to repress the rebels. It will be supported by the battle hardened 1st Artillery, wich after this battle will recieve the reward of calling itself 'Federal'.
Desalinization plant complete, water for all! The new dezalinization plant in Suhar was opend today with vice president Maktum bin Rashid al-Maktum himself appearing. It is hoped that the dezalinization plant will end the ongoing starvation currently occuring in UAE province of Oman.
Victory comes with a price...The YPLF was routed when the 1st Armoured Division, and the 1st Artillery Division moved in across the border. Unfortunately due to communications failiure 1st Artillery remained unaware that a regiment of communists partisans managed to get past the 1st Armoured. The 1st Artillery managed to radio for help before it was destroyed, but the 1st Armoured came to late to help. No garrison will be necessary because of para-military forces to keep the population at bay.

January 2003 - UAE economy suffers from patent fines, oil prices go up! As the U.N recently passed a new resolution supposed to give money to war rebuilding by placing a fee for designing and patenting machines of war, UAE economy is pushed to the limit to be able to make the payments. As an effort to remain debt-free, UAE summons OPEC and decides to raise the oil prices with as much as 7.5%.

February 2003 - Peace talks fail, declaration of war as result... As no agreement was made between Iraq and the provisional Jordanian goverment, UAE was obliged to invade Iraq. 'Thirty years of cruel oppression ends now!' was believed to be the phrase used to launch the invasion. 1st and 2nd Armored Division supported by the 1st Marine Coprs Division and the 1st Close Air Support Squardon should make mincemeat out of the unmotivated Iraqi army.
UAAF (United Arab Air Force) has been founded! In early Februaru 2003, the UAAF was founded when 25 A-10's and 15 F-16's were bought from the U.S. After their duties in Iraq are done, they will appear on the Dubai Air Show in March.
Iraqi republican guard ambushes 1st and 2nd! In a cowardly ambush, three mechanized divisions from Iraq ambushed and destroyed the 1st and 2nd Armored Divisions, also the 1st Marine Corps Division was destroyed. The 1st Close Air Support Squadron fought valiantly and managed to destrou several Iraqi SAM launchers. However, when the ambush occured, they had run out of fuel and had to return to base. When news of the defeat reached Abu Dhabi reached Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan, rumours say he shot and killed three nearby reporters.
Iraq threatens to nuke UAE! Iraq recently threatened to nuke UAE, in response to this, UAE has continued with it's nuclear weapons program wich has previously been on hold. UAE is expected to have it's first nuke within 2 months.

March 2003 - UAE joins nuclear nations! In response to the Iraqi threats, President Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan ordered the construction of one tactical nuke.
UAN has been founded! The United Arab Navy has been founded when the missile submarine UAS Al Nuhayyan was launched. It was a day of celebration for the UAE people.

April 2003 - Colin Powell: 'UAE may have the worlds largest stockpile of tactical nuclear weapons' Another tactical nuke was constructed and loaded onboard the UAS Al Nuhayyan. Is this act getting the world one step closer to nuclear war?
UAE builds worlds most modern attack submarine. Earlier this week, an attack submarine was launched from the Al Jiharaz ship yards in Abu Dhabi. It's duties will be to escort the nuclear weapons carrying missile submarine, UAS Al Nuhayyan.

May 2003 - ICBM bunker in Yemen. The secret construction of an ICBM bunke in Yemen was today announced to be complete. It is unknown wether or not it is equipped with an ICBM. One source from UAA says that the bunker is empty, another source from the UAAF says that the bunker currently is equipped.

June 2003 - Unusual silence from goverment, UAS Lightning launched. No reporter has been able to contact any member of the goverment. Meanwhile another attack submarine was launched. Foreign experts estimate that UAE could afford an ICBM by July 2003.

July 2003 - UAE; Worlds foremost nuclear power! President Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan announced at a pressconference today, that UAE's nuclear research program is complete. UAE now controls atleast 1 combat ready ICBM, and an unknown amount of tactical nukes. Al Nuhayyan said that the invasion of Iraq will continue. If any nukes are launched on UAE Forces, the retaliation will be of biblical proportions.

August 2003 - President Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan's 1 year anniversary this month! As it is now exactly 1 year since he was voted in to power, a parade was held in his honour. Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan is responsible for increasing the population and territory of UAE a hundredfold.
Army prepares for war, 2 tank regiments created. As the nuclear program is complete, and UAE has the power to strike back at any enemy, the UA Army was given priority to purchase two divisions of the new Merkava IV from Israel. It is believed that these will do better in desert conditions then the M1A1 Abrams the UA Army previously had.

September 2003 - Massive arms race, 4 new Artillery Divisions. Zayid bin Sultan Al Nuhayyan was at Shibala Army Base (SAB) when the 4 new Artillery Divisions were put in to active duty. The president shook hands with all officers and some of the enlisted men.
UAE Artillery causes mass casualties on Iraqi side! Just past midnight, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Artillery regiments opened fire on Iraqi SAM's and infantry. Army Intelligence suggests that as many as two Iraqi Infantry Divisions were destroyed in the well conducted barrage, and also atleast one SAM.

October 2003 - 100 000 new Army recruits! Over 1 hundred thousand males in UAE and it's provinces have been drafted to form 4 new Infantry Divisions. They are to be stationed near the Iraqi border in Jordan and S.A.
