Well, after winning many Monarch games, I tried to move up to Emperor, but unfortunatly I lost.
Maybe I'm more succesful in a succession game, I couldn't find an open Emperor game so I started one myself.

Settings:
Version: Ptw 1.14f
Civ: Japan
Barbarian activty: Sedentary
Size: Large
Land Mass: 80% Water, Continents
Climate: Arid, Cool
Age: 3 Billion Years
Rivals: 7 Random rival civs.

I think this could be an interesting game: Few rivers, large polar regions, many Bonus Ressources and a lot of ocean between the continents.
I still need 4 players ( Maybe 1 or 2 who are already Emperor/Deity veterans), and someone who does the first 20 turns (I don't want a bad start)

Roster:
- Darkness (first 20 turns)
- OxfordPferd (next 20 turns)
- Betazed
- ???
- ???

I'd have liked to, but it's PTW, and I only have Mac-vanilla 1.21 or 1.29. Sorry.

@OxfordPferd: You might want to check this yourself, but the file inside the zip you posted is not recognized as a save file by PTW1.14, so I couldn't play, sorry....

Alright! Let’s get started on this one….

4000 BC (0) – Found Kyoto at starting location, and begin construction of warrior. 2 bonus resources in the first 9 tiles, so this could be a great settler factory! So we start pottery at max science. Worker moves N onto wheat. There appears to be jungle to the S. This could be very bad for our expansion…

3950 BC (1) – Worker starts irrigating wheat tile.

3900 BC (2) – Nothing…

3850 BC (3) – MM in Kyoto

3800 BC (4) – Kyoto completes warrior#1 and begins another. Warrior#1 moves W.

3750 BC (5) – Worker completes irrigation and begins road. Warrior#1 moves W and sees we’re near the coast.

3700 BC (6) – Warrior#1 moves S.

3650 BC (7) – Warrior#1 moves S, spots horses. MM in Kyoto

3600 BC (8) – Worker completes road and moves to game tile. Kyoto builds warrior and starts second worker Warrior#2 moves N and N (and spots cattle 3 tiles due N of Kyoto. Near this cattle might be a good place for our second city). Warrior#1 moves SE..

3550 BC (9) – In the intraturn Kyoto has grown so the luxury slider is set to 20% to prevent riots the next turn. Worker starts cutting down the forest on the game tile. Warrior#1 moves S and warrior#2 moves N and spots a second cattle! This will definitely be our second city site.

3500 BC (10) – Cultural expansion in Kyoto, which enables us to spot spices to the SE as well as a goody hut just NE of the cultural boundaries of Kyoto. Warrior#1 moves S and spots more spices. Warrior#2 moves N.

3450 BC (11) – Warrior#1 moves SE, warrior #2 moves E.

3400 BC (12) – Kyoto build worker and begins building a warrior. Sliders adjusted to max science. Second worker moves N and NE, onto bonus grassland. Both warriors move SE.

3350 BC (13) – Second worker begins construction of mine on the bonus grassland, Warrior#1 moves S, warrior#2 moves E.

3300 BC (14) – Both warriors move S

3250 BC (15) – Both warriors move S

3200 BC (16) – Kyoto builds warrior#3 and begins temple as a pre-build for granary. Warrior#3 stays to MP. Warrior#2 pops GH and gets a settler! :D That settler immediately founds Osaka, where the production of a worker begins. Warrior#1 moves E.

3150 BC (17) – Warrior#1 and warrior#2 both move S.

3100 BC (18) - Same as last turn, but warrior#1 spots a blue border.

3050 BC (19) – Worker completes cutting down forest and starts irrigation. We meet Korea. They have bronze working and alphabet, but the price is just too high. Other worker completes mine and begins road. Warrior#1 moves S. Warrior#2 moves E.

3000 BC (20) – Both warriors move S.

Thoughts: Pottery will be researched in 2 turns, so switch the production in Kyoto to a granary when this happens. The city will make a great settler factory. Osaka will build a worker because there’s a lot of jungle, so we’ll need plenty of workers.
Research suggestions: Try to trade Korea for Alphabet (as cheap as possible and go for writing on a minimum science gamble (40 turns)
I know popping the GH was a huge risk (cause we’re not expansionistic, but I felt it was worth the risk because I had just completed the third warrior to MP in Kyoto, as protection for our capital and our workers. So I felt the possible gains outweighed the risks involved.
We’ll need to settle the good land ASAP (with the bonus resources), and then move on to the jungle.

The game:

2950 BC: reduce Science to get +1 Gold, we'll get pottery in 1 turn anyway
2900BC: Kyoto riots, I should have given them Luxury instead
2850BC: We get Alphabet and 10G and give Pottery and The Wheel, Kyoto changes production to granary
Korea is building a city in the middle of the desert, there's either oil or salpeter
2800BC: Osaka builds Worker, next will be a warrior
2750BC: We get a Warrior from a hut, Osaka production back to worker, I send the warrior to Osaka
2710BC: nothing special
2670BC: nothing special
2630BC: Kyoto reaches size 5, higher luxury-tax
2590BC:nothing special
2550BC:nothing special
2510BC:Kyoto builds granary starts settler, osaka finishes Worker and starts anothe one
2470BC:nothing special
2430BC:nothing special
2390BC:2 Workers start to clear jungle
2350BC:nothing special
2310BC:nothing special
2270BC:kyoto builds settler and starts a new one
2230BC:Osaka builds worker and starts a new one
2190BC:Tokyo is founded on the hill at the coast and starts warrior
2110BC:Kyoto builds Settler

Sorry, I couldn't make a screenshot.
It seems like we're alone with Korea on this small continent. There might still be a connection to another Landmass Southeast of Korea's Capitol, but I seriously doubt it. There is obviously another Continent (or at least Island) to the North. As soon as we're done expanding, we should wage a war against Korea. I suggest building barraks in Osaka with the Jungle-shields.

Betazet you're next
