BUG and BULL for Mac

Hi there, I have already posted this on another board here but I don't think anyone ever reads it. I have BTS 3.19 for Mac (on Lion) and want to get the most recent version of BUG that is compatible, with instructions on how to install it. I am also looking for confirmation that BULL doesn't work on Macs. Anyone able to help?

This is the place to get answers!

The latest version of BUG will work on a Mac. The only problem you need to fix is one line in BUG that relies on a later version of Python than the one shipped by Aspyr in Civ4/BtS. See instructions in this post.

I can confirm that BULL doesn't work on Macs, as the Aspyr ported version of BtS doesn't link to external modded CivGameCoreDLL.dll files. The DLL is hard coded into the application, which means a lot of mods are incompatible.

Thank you very much for this concise reply. What am I missing out on by not having BULL? Is it worth running Windows (or Wine or whatever else) in order to have it?

One last question... is it possible to install both BUG and the unofficial 3.19 patch on a Mac?

The Unofficial Patch for 3.19 uses a custom DLL as far as I can tell. So you can't run it on a Mac anyway.

Ah ok, I didn't realise that about the patch. Looks like I would need to run the Windows version if I wanted much in the way of community enhancement. Thanks!
