Hello all,

@Hinin and I have been discussing what we would have done differently with 4UC if we were given another shot at it, and it got us brainstorming a whole bunch of different, alternative components. Rather than having our brainstorming buried in a private chat that is hard to edit, update, and maintain, I thought I would post some of our ideas here.

Notes:
  • This is not a thread for complaining about 4UC, you can do that in the actual 4UC thread
  • Do not expect anyone from the 4UC project to actually make of this. building an entirely separate 5/6UC would be a monumental job. This is purely a theorycrafting exercise for now

I'm not sure about Ghazi, it feels a bit too generic to me, and a brief search doesn't really yield anything indicating a cavalry unit. Khalid bin Walid had a famous elite cavalry unit, the name escapes me though. Probably one of the ones mentioned on the wiki, I'm not sure which one was the most widely used

Given America's mostly unquestioned naval dominance has rested on them for decades and they have so much more tonnage of them than everyone else combined, I've always wondered about a Carrier UU for them. It would come really late, but it would match up better with America's "Golden Age".

This is plan for 5th and 6th unique component or changing current ones to another?

This is plan for 5th and 6th unique component or changing current ones to another?

A bit of a mixed project : pineappledan's idea was to provide an alternative set of 3/4th UCs and, if some people want it despite the yield inflation it would cause, stack the two versions of 4UC together to obtain 6UCs per civ.

I called that Re:4UC.

YetAnother3rdAnd4thUniqueComponentForVP

Do you think yield inflation will be serious?

YnAMUCfVP

Basically just theorizing, providing an outlet for people to talk about what they would have done with the project. I think it's a fun creative exercise to talk about what could be included in a civ, as long as people don't hold out any expectations that it will materialize
