I've been interested in Vox Populi , but the map scale looks/feels rather cramped; are 'normal sized (6-10 cities)' the most cities that VP can support ?
Are there any huge/large maps in Vox Populi ?

VP doesn't have a set map that you're forced to play on 
you can choose whatever map and map size you like. i play on huge (tectonic map script) with VP and sometimes gigantic earth (ynaem). you can have as many cities as your happiness and approval rating can handle. biggest in my current game is china with 32 cities.
