Assyria SG

t60: Steal Sofian worker. Start granary in Nimrud. It has several bananas and we can send a TR to cap at some point from here. Take Citizenship. Free Worker goes to chop Spices. Kill Barb Spear. 2nd Salt mine finishes. Gems from Attila and Sugar from Ahmad available. Could also sell to Poca to help with DOF. Nvm. Rome is busy selling Salt to the world. Attila is the only taker at this point. Sold him Salt and our embassy for 7 gpt. Agree with the DOF Poca strategy. Plus, Rome will not leave us alone long enough, I don't believe.

t61:Wheel done. Queue up Writing. Great Wall goes far away. Ethiopia enhances. Archers move towards camp. Chop Spice jungle. Rome can be bribed to war anyone on the continent for most of our money and luxes.

t62: E Scout takes a look into Rome. A LOT of troops. Hopefully, we have time to wait on Peace Treaty w/ Attila to expire. Worker done in Nineveh. Start Archer. Settler done in Assur. Start caravan. Kar-Tuk grows. Works plains.

t63: Caravan ends. Send it back to Shoshone cap. Writing finished. Start Philosophy. Attila builds Parthenon. Mausoleum goes far away.

t64: Eth wants to trade embassies. Sell it instead. Petra goes to Ahmad. Ivory online. Cocoa chopped. Start seeing Roman troops near Nineveh.

t65: Nineveh grows. Works iron. Barb camp cleared.

t66: Colossus built in Rome. Rome hits Medieval thru Guilds. Scout reveals Ivory-Sheep island up of NW coast. Sold more iron to Ahmad. Also sold Ahmad our embassy.

t67: Archer finished in Nineveh. 1 more Archer. Now a Ballista, a Legion and a Spear are standing on our border. Caravan finished in cap. Sent to Poca expansion. Started Spear.

t68: Attila enters Med thru Civil Service. Horses hooked up. No one will pay 2 gpt. Sell them at half price. Roman-Hunnic Peace treaty is over. Take a peak at Antium with Warr. Only see 4 units instead of carpet of units for imminent attack. Rome still wants 2 luxes, gpt and embassy to attack anyone. His troop score continues to rise, but he also just sent us a TR. Don't pull the trigger on bribe yet.

t69: Attila DOWs Kabul. And, Attila settles a city to annoy Poca. Settled Dur-Shar. Purchased banana. Work banana. Started Mon. Ahmad shows up with some extra Sugar. Trade him our Spices. Next Spice will be worth 4 happy.

t70: Sorry, I think I'm going to stop here. You're still welcome to play 15 if you want. I'm just tired. Worker can be stolen from Sofia and peace them. That will make 7 workers. Borders grew to Cocoa.

Wanted to discuss with you about making the bribe to Rome before I pulled the trigger. Like I said, I don't think it is imminent just yet, but he's definitely thinking about it. May be able to keep our luxes and just trade most of our cash for the bribe. Attila has a ton of units as well, so hopefully they actually fight each other, but I doubt it. We should prob head for Xbows and take Edu with our UA. We can upgrade our 4 archers, build 3-4 more Cbows and start the Roman conquest. What are your thoughts? If we want to wait on the fighting, we could Oracle the Lib finisher and Engineer Machu or even the NC at some point. With all the TR science we have coming in, our pace is pretty good to get whatever we want with an engineer. Just a thought, if you want to remain peaceful a little while longer. I think we're done expanding. The NW is garbage and not sure the Pearl city is worth it, but I'm definitely not dead set against it. I mean, it's not a bad Lib city. It just seems far away. PS. I moved the Scouts before I decided to end it there.

I was going to suggest switching to 10-turn sessions too.

Because of that one-tile chokepoint Rome and the Huns are never going to actually fight, so we have to deal with Augustus and his endless troops by ourselves. I don't know if it's realistic pre-Machinery - Augustus is getting 8 Iron from Antananarivo and has at least 4 of his own, so that's a bit of a problem. Farming XP on him or Sofia seems reasonable though, then we can citadel our way in and attack with XBs.

It's unfortunate we have no expo on the same coast as the capital. I think I kind of want to settle the Pearls, but perhaps we should do it after NC and workshops.

Cheers for starting a new one. :goodjob:

T70: Take Sofia's worker.
T71: Philosophy -> Construction. Nineveh: Archer -> Archer.
T72: Scout near Dur-Shar notices unescorted Roman settler. Might be going for Pearls? Assur: Spearman -> Archer. Kar-Tuk: Mon -> Gran.
T73: Attila's hitting Kabul. He'll probably take the city and get chain-denounced here. Should be a good opportunity for easy diplo points for us.
T74: We actually have more troops than the Shoshone... 29k vs 27k army.
T75: Pocatello denounces Attila, I do the same. Kabul's in the red. Construction -> Math. Assur: Archer -> Water Mill. Nineveh: Archer -> Granary. Upgrading archers.
T76: Kabul falls. Augustus asks if I want to co-DoW Attila, I say no. Nimrud: Granary -> Library. Kill Sofian Spearman.
T77: Rome settles the Pearls spot. I think this isn't bad for us, he can develop the city and we'll take it later.

T78: Pocatello settles Goshute and grabs Kar-Tuk's bananas. Killed another Sofian Spearman. Math -> Iron Working. Pocatello also seems to be building Chichen Itza in his capital. Bribed Attila to attack a bunch of CSs, Pocatello and Ahmad. DoWed Attila and plundered a caravan.

T79: Shooting Sofia for XP. Attila has top army now. Rome's willing to DoW him for a lux and 4 gpt.
T80: Augustus builds Pyramids somewhere. Sofia spawns a Pike. Sidon is half-dead to Attila already. We're close to a GG, 2 turns away from swordsmen with enough gold to upgrade, and we also have 6 CBs and a spear. Half of our science is from trade routes.

Plan is to keep farming XP on Sofia, continue growing cities, tech to Machinery and eventually bribe Rome if needed.

t80: Niveveh: Granary to Library. Eth hits Med thru CS. Strange Shoshone Settler near Assur.

t81: Killed Sofian Pike who dove into the ocean. D-S: Mon to Library. Assur: WMill to Library. Took Representation for policy discount. No takers still for Assyrian Salt.

t82: GG born. Attila takes Sidon. IW into Engineering. K-T: Granary to Library.

t83: -

t84: Iron deal w/ Ahmad ends. Upgrade 2 Swords.

t85: Nin: Library to Colosseum. Rome still wants all our money and Marble to DOW anyone. Looking more necessary at this point, though. Going unhappy momentarily.

t86: Nimrud: Library to Circus. Assur: Library to Colosseum.

t87: Able to see several more troops near Antium plus a Settler in the city (4 Legs, 4 Balls, 2 Pikes). Engineering to Currency. Attila starting to bring down Poca's new expansion. May pull the trigger on Rome bribe next turn.

t88: Poca founds Budd w/ pasture culture (meh) and % production (nice). Rome can no longer be bribed against Attila. He will still war anyone else, though. Attila top army still. I see a couple of Roman units in the water, so maybe he will swim some of his army over to Morrocan lands. Plus, we can then sell Ahmad our Salt. And, if he starts to move some of those units out, we can DOW him at that point. May be wishful thinking. Bribe Rome against Ahmad for 11 gpt, Marble, embassy. Sell Salt to Ahmad for 7 gpt.

t89: Attila stopped making progress on Goshute.

t90: Spices done this turn. Next turn should get 4 more happy for +3. Currency finished. Sofia dropped another Pike in the water. Need to move out one of our CBs. Roman troops seem to take a step towards west, but that may just be what I want to see. Chichen built by Poca.

I'm sure you'll come up with something more brilliant than my plans, but I was going to get my troops out of Sofia and get setup to DOW Rome. Keep teching to Machinery. I'm a little surprised Poca still isn't ready to DOF. Need to find a way to get some cash. Me building all those buildings isn't helping, but I figured we needed to get setup to NC and get some happiness. Anyway, good luck on your turns.

Probably not gonna be able to play today, but I should have time tomorrow. I checked the save, and one thing we can do is buy Rome's open borders and bribe him to attack the Huns as well. Augustus wants Spices and 16 gpt for that, and that's exactly what we get if we lock all our gold tiles and improve the Spices. This is the last turn of our Golden Age, so this is the last opportunity we'll get to bribe Rome for a while. If we do it, we'll be stuck in unhappiness for a few more turns without Spices, but that's fine. Then DoW Rome when we have our units on the same tiles as the two caravans he's sending us for easy cash.

Pushing before Machinery doesn't seem possible, but maybe we can get Rome to suicide a bunch of units into a defensive citadel, which is why I want open borders. Not sure on which tile to plant it though. We could buy a riverside forest and citadel right next to Antium, but that will be pretty vulnerable to all sorts of attacks.

Edit: Actually now that I look at it again, Sidon looks really vulnerable to something like 2 Siege Towers and a Trireme. If Attila's willing to accept peace, we could try to snipe Sidon.

And I'm not so keen on the Rome-Huns bribe today, they won't attack each other anyway so it's kind of a waste of resources.

Interesting session. I played a couple of extra turns because I just really wanted to slam Siege Towers into Sidon. I hope that's alright.

T90: Decided against the Rome-Huns bribe. Buy Roman and Shoshone open borders, 2 gpt each. Currency -> Optics, a 2-turn detour. Kill Sofian Pike, keep farming XP.

T91: Attila plants a city by KSM. Hopefully this pisses off Augustus enough that he DoWs the Huns. Assur and Nineveh start Siege Towers.

T92: Optics -> Guilds. Moving scouts to give them embarking ability. Genoa and Antananarivo want a natural wonder, maybe there is still one on our continent somewhere.

T93: Rome denounces the Huns, Attila builds Statue of Zeus. Just attack each other already!
T94: Nimrud: Circus -> Caravan. Time to feed the capital maybe?

T95: Dur-Shar: Granary -> Library. Assur: ST -> Aqueduct, Nineveh: ST -> Trireme. Moving STs, a Sword and a GG to Sidon which has 13 city defense strength. Should be enough...
T96: Pocatello finishes Oracle.

T97: Iron to Ahmad ends, not renewing. Nineveh: Trireme -> Swordsman. Might need a lot of meatshields for our potential war with Rome. Augustus has lots of Legions and Knights.

T98: Guilds -> Machinery.
T100: Antananarivo wants a trade route. Renew Spices <> Sugar with Ahmad. Pledge to protect Antananarivo.
T101: Units in position to attack Sidon. Sofia and Shoshone become allies.

And here we are:

Spoiler :
20220330134147_1.jpg
We can liberate Sidon this turn with the Trireme, but unfortunately Attila doesn't want to make peace, so it'll fall again. Still, it's a free tech, a bit of cash and a diplo boost with everyone. Maybe try to save the STs and either sneak up on Leoben or retake Sidon when Attila's willing to make peace?

We get our Liberty finisher here. What GP should we take? I was thinking maybe a Great Merchant to ally Antananarivo who has an easy trade route quest, and get some gold for XB upgrades? I like this because if we fight Augustus later, we'll need the happiness as well as a distraction for some of his units. And the CS has Dyes, so we'd be able to sell our copy without losing happiness. Oh, and it has 8 iron too.

Great Admiral is interesting as it allows us to meet the other continent, the problem is that we don't really have anything to sell to the unmet AIs. Great Engi for NC is an option too. Any other ideas?

Workers in Nineveh are building roads to Antium. I still think we'll have to citadel into that city if/when we fight Rome. We're pretty close to our next GG now.

No prob on the extra couple turns. Agree with assessment of bribe. No reason to throw good money away if we’re still gonna see all those troops flooding across our borders in a few turns anyway. I think I like the citadel on our side of the river 1 tile west of our Salt where the Legion is. We can build 3 bridges there to get in after the first couple of waves. Or, we could do the tile where the Pike is which won’t be getting shot by the city. Not sure we can hold the max greed citadel on the other side of the river that picks up the Horses and the Salt.

I wanted to GE Machu, but that dream is dead. I think I love the GM plan. Don’t need an academy with our UA. I could get on board with the GAd plan as well, though. The extra gold and happiness would be very nice right now, plus Antananarivo troops will be really annoying if still allied to Rome.

So, the plan in the east is to suicide the trireme for a tech (hopefully Metal Cast but prob HBR), and try to save the rest of our troops for some other shenanigans with Leoben possibly?

What’s the right timing on the war with Rome? Citadel in and GM Antan and upgrade CBs and then DOW?

Yeah, pretty much. Maybe see if Rome wants to attack the Shoshone before the DoW, though we don't have much to offer to him. Pocatello's now allies with Sofia, so that would be a decent distraction too, and a potential liberation later as well.

Leoben is optimistic but who knows? It's low risk and high reward. Losing a couple of towers doesn't matter too much, selling Leoben to Pocatello would be huge. I suppose selling Sidon to Pocatello is an option too. I guess it's the strongest play here actually - sell Sidon to Pocatello, have Atilla recapture it, then liberate. Kinda dirty though.

t102: Took Meritocracy. Chose GM. Took Sidon. Puppeted. Got HBR. Attila still doesn't want peace. Sold Sidon to Poca. He liberated it.

t103: Poca wants OB. Decline. He's just dying to take all of the tiles to the NW. Ahmad wants to be friends. I oblige. Nineveh: Sword to Lighthouse. D-S: Granary to Aqu. Nimrud: Caravan to CB. Moved caravan to KTN for highest TR w/ Antan.

t104: Huns take Sidon. KTN: WMill to Aqu. Attila makes peace w/ Ahmad.

t105: 3 Hunnic Knights kill our Sword. GG in water swimming back. Poca enhances w/ Temple culture and stronger GPs. Nineveh starts replacement Sword.

t106: Starting to chop tiles on our side of the river so we can shoot over. E Scout finds fairly large island N of Shoshone lands.

t107: Meet Yerevan on island. Pledge. Assur: Sword to CB. GM gets 500g & 30 Inf w/ Antan. We're still 1 pt shy of taking over as Ally.

t108: W Scout meets Pan City. Pledge. Poca builds Borobudur.

t109: Machinery to Drama (for CS). Upgrade 7 XB (700g). GG finally lands near Nin. Nimrud: CB to Spear. E Scout finds a lot of land NE of Yerevan. Looking more like Yerevan isn't on an island as much as a peninsula.

t110: My engineering brain won't let me leave on an 'unround' number, so I'll just leave it here. Plus, this is a good stopping point. Need to citadel in and setup defenses next turn. Workers should be done with roads this turn. We either need to put 250g into Antan or find a NW. Still at war w/ Sofia. The fighting out E got too hot with Hunnic Knights everywhere, so I brought the STs home. NC is available. Figured we needed one more shooty-shoot. Spy available because Attila advanced. Rome, I assume?

T110: Meet Manila, they have a barb camp quest. Send a crossbow there. Spy to Te-Moak - that city has jungles that yield science, so we know it has a university. Switch to Metal Casting to base the first tech steal time on Drama.

Bribe Rome to attack Ethiopia and the Shoshone. Make peace with Sofia.

T111: Pocatello converts Kar-Tuk. Found a natural wonder near Manila. One turn too late unfortunately, I want to DoW Rome now.

250 g to Antan, citadel near Antium, DoW Rome, three caravans plundered. Sell Dyes to Morocco because we get an extra from Antan. Legions have a 20% strat resource penalty. Nineveh: Lighthouse -> Siege Tower. I want to try and snipe Arretium (the Pearl city) the same way we did Sidon.

T112: Kill Hunnic Pike. There's a ruin near Manila. Kind of want to pick that up with the crossbow I sent there for a potential Gatling Gun upgrade.Rome is pushing Sofia. I'll take shots at his invaders but I do want him to take the city, so that we can liberate later.

T113: Meet Bogota, they want the same camp down as Manila. Pocatello converts our capital. Attila's harassing Goshute. Antan is going for Attila's KSM city. Rome's suiciding into Sofia and our citadel.

T114: Tech steal is in 8 turns.

T115: Lost a trireme due to carelessness. Moson Kahni is taking damage from Attila. Metal Casting -> Drama. All cities will start workshops next.

T116: Roman army taking heavy losses - he won't be able to take Sofia. Setting up the attack on Arretium.

T117: Augustus is offering gold for peace. Moson Kahni down to yellow hp. Clear camp for Manila and Bogota with a scout. Move STs in position near Arretium. Kill a bunch of units in Antium. Pocatello builds Great Mosque.

T118: Capture Arretium in one turn with 2 STs and a crossbow, get Theology. This is lucky - we're on track to steal Education from Pocatello now. City only keeps a library and a market. Doesn't have Pearls improved, so we'll need a workboat. Buy Silk from Ahmad. Sell Spices to Haile. Pocatello enters Renaissance via Banking.

T119: Shoshone offers DoF. He's losing to Attila so I think he's kind of useless, and we're going to have to take his capital sooner than the friendship runs out I think. Ethiopia also offers DoF, I do accept this one.

We're 4th in army score now. Sofia not allies with Shoshone anymore. Gift Sofia 500 gold to become allies and keep the flank safe.

Worker-baiting Roman units. Here's a screenshot:
Spoiler :
20220401093412_1.jpg
Ballista-worker is building a road, Knight-worker a fort. Northern fort near Sofia is unfinished, but we might not even need it anymore. Overall things look really good I think and we should be able to push into Antium very soon. Pocatello losing the war to Attila is a bit concerning though. There are two ruins near Manila - decent chance for a weapon upgrade.

Any thoughts on policies? Honor? Could grab some Exploration. Commerce roads could be handy. Patronage?

Opened the save and radar’d with worker. He’s getting low on units. West army will raze new Rome city out west.

Hmmm, nothing really stands out to me. Aristocracy is a safe pick, Exploration or Patronage are probably more interesting to play.

I'm pretty sure I saw at least a Legion and a CB near that city, but perhaps they suicided into Genoa.

t120: Move W army towards new Roman city. Rescue both of our workers.

t121: Poca wants to renew OB trade, I accept. Moson K falls to Attila. Meet Zurich w/ W Scout. Pledge. CS to Steel. Caravan that was going to Moson K I moved to Nimrud for food TR. Sofia gifts us a XB. Pick up first ruin out E. 95g. Only 1 Pike showed up to Antium. Killed it and finished off a Ballista. Started moving in to take city.

t122: Spy killed. Must've moved there after cap taken. Caravan to Assur. Legions back to full strength. 3 Legs and 3 Ballista show up S of Antium. Assur: WS to NC.

t123: 2nd ruin out E was faith ruin. Nineveh: WS to Sword. Angkor Wat goes to Morocco.

t124: Caravan to Sofia.

t125:

t126: Could take Antium, but there are 3 Ballistas ready to shoot and 2 Legs to capture.

t127: Capture Antium. Puppet it. Got Compass. KTN: WS to ST. Nimrud: WS to Sword. Spy recruited. Move to Fes (Morocco). Rome made peace w/ Poca and Haille.

t128: Nineveh: Sword to Sword. Poca added puchase all GP to Buddhism. Opened Patronage. Sounded fun.

t129: LToP goes far away. Poca took his cap back.

t130: Huns offered 6 gpt for peace. I refused. Attila made peace w/ Poca. Steel done. Out W, that 1 Legion tore us up. Need to heal those guys and move in. Rome should fall fairly quickly I would think. War Poca next and then take down Attila up north? Or, we could raze that KSM city and come from that direction? The techs from UA have been pretty bad so far. Hopefully that gets a little better. Wasn't sure if we wanted Astronomy yet so I went to the bottom of the tree for Armories. I've taken a 1 turn healing break for meat shields. More cooking. Good luck on your turns.

How do you manipulate the steal tech timer? Not sure I understand all the variables.
This post on reddit has a good explanation: https://old.reddit.com/r/civ5/comments/f3yjh7/tips_tricks_and_exploits_compilation/

"The mechanic for stealing technology is like this: when your spy arrives at a city controlled by Civ A for a Spy mission, the game will generate a list of techs that Civ A has and you do not have but you are able to research right away. Then, from this list, it will pick the tech that has the highest research cost, and then use this number to be divided by the science output of this city to calculate the turns needed for this spy to perform the Steal Technology action (note: of course there are a lot of modifiers to be added in, such as the Rank of the spy, buildings like Constabulary, etc., but I'm not gonna go into the exact math here)."

In our game on turn 110, I saw Pocatello had a 5 tech lead on us in the trade route menu, and we knew he had Education from the tile yields. So Drama, CS, Theo and Edu were 4 of the techs he had on us, and the fifth I figured would have to be Chivalry because it had a significantly reduced tech cost, and it's a tech that AIs really like. We had 1 tech that Poca didn't have which had to be Machinery.

Out of the 5 techs that Poca had but we didn't, the only one that we were able to research was Drama, so the steal rate would be based on that if the spy had arrived on turn 110. In order to keep it that way while the Spy was travelling to Te-Moak, I researched Metal Casting instead of Drama. The latter would've unlocked CS and Theo and raised the tech steal time.

Long turns this session.

T130: Start Education.

Make peace w/Attila, he pays 330 gold for it. Don't see a reason to keep fighting when he's made peace with everyone, would rather bribe-and-DoW him again later. Regroup western units, send reinforcements there.

Annex and start razing Antium - I don't think we have the happiness to keep it. Annex Arretium, buy Workboat and Galleass, start Courthouse. Upgrade into Longswords. Temporarily unhappy.

T131: Tech steal is in 20 turns. Ahmad plotting against Haile, share intrigue. Dur-Sha and Kar-Tuk start Colosseums.

T132: Plunder Roman caravan. Attila has Frigates.

T133: Our big gpt deal with Pocatello ends. We'll need another source of income soon. Ahmad builds Forbidden Palace in Marrakech. Sofia wants a road - easy quest for us. Nineveh starts Market. Gift 500 gold to Bogota for ally status and access to Wine.

T134: No units take the worker bait this time. Move in on Cumae.

T135: Keep shooting Cumae, move in on Mediolanum. Finish NC, start Cargo ship.

T136: A bunch of Roman units appear. Pillage all iron, Legions at -29% strength now. Seems there are still quite a lot of units to chew through. Shooting Medio, Cumae.

T137: Plunder another caravan. Send hammer cargo ship to Arretium. Capture Cumae, get Chivalry. Augustus will recapture it next turn. Start Astronomy.

T138: Rome retakes Cumae in the interim. I capture it again this turn. Capture Medio as well and sell to Attila, so that he razes it for us. Get Astronomy from Medio. Start Banking. Removing excess roads.

T139: Razed Cumae. Cleaning up Roman units.

Spoiler Screen :

I was building a road to Ahmad, but maybe just swimming to Marrakech after dealing with Rome would be faster. Attila should be very easy to bribe and Poca is weak, so I'm not too concerned about our eastern neighbors. Taking Marrakech would be huge for us - I believe it has both Notre Dame and Forbidden Palace.

Or we could bribe Attila, take his KSM city for Navigation (hopefully), then make peace.

Definitely didn't make as much progress as I was hoping.

t140: Continued road out W. Nimrud: Colosseum to Uni. Ahmad will DOW Haille for 185g. Decide against for now.

t141: Poca shares that Attila is plotting against us. Shoshone take over as ally of Bogota. Put 250g in to renew allyship. Peace treaty with Attila ends.

t142: Not Poca takes Sofia from us. Renew Dye deal with Ahmad. Our road to Sofia finishes, so we're back as allies with them. KTN: Market to Uni. Assur: Uni to Market.

t143: Still waves of Roman units showing up.

t144: Started inching forward last turn and 5 new Roman units show up out of fog.

t145: Arretium: Lhouse to Uni. Nineveh: Uni to LSword. Huns failed coup in Sofia.

t146: Assur: Market to LSword.

t147: Banking to Physics. Nimrud: Uni to XB.

t148: Rome offers Ravenna for peace. I think about it, but eventually decline. Put another 500 in Bogota because someone on other continent allied them. D-S: Uni to Caravan.

t149: Renewed Spice deal w/ Haille. W Scout meets India. Trade embassies. Bought Silk from Ahmad. Still plenty of Roman units.

Meat shield reinforcements are slowly starting to finish. Intended to have them for 2nd army, but I haven't been able to finish off Rome like I had hoped. Ahmad is looking pretty scary right now with his 215 gpt. Good luck on your turns. Ahmad can still be bought to attack Haille for 185g, so it may be time to pull the trigger. I'm just afraid that he takes Haille out pretty quick and gets even stronger.

T150: Adopt Philanthropy, start researching Gunpowder.

Raise gpt by working gold and building wealth to do some "diplomacy":

- Buy Truffles from Ahmad to get some influence with Genoa and Zurich next turn
- Bribe Ahmad to attack Haile, bribe Attila to attack Poca
- Sell gpt to Ahmad, give 500 gold to Yerevan to ally
- DoW Pocatello, plunder caravan.
- Spices <> Whales w/Gandhi.
- Try to piss off Haile by making some demands. I'm hoping he denounces us after we take Rome, so that our DoF is broken and we can try to snipe a city when Ahmad does enough damage. Spoiler alert, this doesn't happen, so this was a bad move by me and we probably won't be able to renew the DoF with Ethiopia now when it runs out.

Assur & Nine start Cargo ships. Arretium swithes to Granary temporarily. Dur-Sha starts Stable. Met Austria.

T151: Stole Printing Press from Ahmad. Captured Rome, got Navigation for it. Rome keeps a lot of nice buildings. Spy to Bogota. Met Byblos. Denounce Attila. Salt to Ahmad.

T152: Attila denounces us back. Repair Ivory, sell to Ethiopia, 500 gold to ally Genoa, 250 to Zurich, then DoW Morocco.

T153: Morocco founds World Congress. Propose World's Fair. Send cargo ship to Manila, start building another one.

T154: Really unlucky: Pocatello becomes allies with Manila just as we were about to ally them with the trade route quest. We lose the cargo ship too. :/

Salt <> Incense w/Genghis. We'll get Salt back on turn 160.

T155: Make peace with Rome, take Ravenna in the deal, then sell it for a whopping 4 gpt to Attila who will raze it for us.

T156: Moving units mostly. Start Chemistry.

T157: Met Kiev. Annexed Rome, started Courthouse. Trade route to Bogota.

T158: Moving in on Te-Moak.

T159: Rome denounces us. 5 gpt <> 127 gold w/Haile, gold gift to Yerevan.

T160: In the interim Manila plunders TR to Bogota - I only really wanted the influence from the quest so this is fine, but still annoying. Bogota and Yerevan could've easily prevented this but the AIs always choose to be incompetent.

Spoiler Screen :
20220406074738_1.jpg
I meant to send the caravan in Nineveh to Rome, but it's your call. Been trying to grow the cities a bit and get some gold buildings up, but we're running out of happiness now. We should get our Salt back after turn 160 though for another 4 happy.

Nothing's really been happening on the western front. Morocco's suiciding units into Zurich, and that's about it. I was thinking the next 250 gold we get should probably go to Zurich, they're an important ally to keep. I left Rome undefended - I think it's probably fine while Attila's busy with Poca, and August has no army yet to think about an attack. Good luck.

t160: Moved CShip to Rom w/ Colossus

t161: Send CShip to Austria. Haille is sending 3 missionaries and a GP to convert us. I'd like to keep the production bonus, but not sure we can fight the onslaught.

t162: Rome: Courthouse to CShip.

t163: Attila making progress on Moson. Chem to Fertilizer. Nineveh: Bank to Barracks.

t164: Trade embassies w/ Genghis and Hiawatha. Found Sri Pada and other continent (3 left to find). Got another GG. D-S: Market to Bank. Assur: Bank to Barracks. Nimrud: Market to Bank.

t165: Captured Te-Moak. Himeji and Great Mosque, but it lost the library and uni. Decide to raze. Will lose out on a little faith generation, but not much else. Got Economics. Nineveh: Barracks to Armory. Taj goes to India. Going to have to wrestle Attila over Moson. Will probably just declare on him. Antan can keep him busy in the S while we focus in the N.

t166: Quite a few Hunnic troops near Moson. Decide to heal up a little before DOWing Attila. Captured full GP in Te-Moak. Not sure whether to settle him or reconvert all our cities after Haille gets finished. Assur: Barracks to Armory. Move Te-Moak GWOW to Assur. Should be +40 after Armory finishes.

t167: Rome: CShip to Monument.

t168: Captured Moson. Poca is dead. Attila had taken his other city with Privateers during his turn. Bad luck there, but it's not like anyone is a fan of ours anyway. KTN: Bank to Garden (no prod). Haille is still invading us w/ missionaries. Zurich is starting to fall.

t169: Ahmad wants peace. I declined. Figured we should talk about strategy over there. Haille denounces us as soon as DOF ends. Upgraded some meatshields. Moving into position to take on Attila. He's top army and he has a sizable Privateer navy, so we need to be careful of capturing coastal. Rome: Mon to Forge. OB from Attila ends. Take Consulates.

t170: Need to keep selling buildings in Te-Moak. Plan was to build Cannons after Armories done. We can probably move that one GW around to several cities while building Cannons until we get another one. Attila just settled a garbage city near Rome. Looks like a free tech to me. Genghis and Maria are at war, but we may need to spend some money over there to get some people distracted. Hia is on 16 cities. Not sure how many are good, though. Good luck on your turns.
