August 3rd - Consolidated information thread.

Marbozir pt6.
11 minutes in to the vid are good looks at 3 policies in the Mercenaries civic. Science & culture boosts to trade routes, 50% discount on upgrading units, and increased yields to district pillaging.

Further confirmation on multiple leaders per civ: https://youtu.be/yxVvoZUegwM?t=760

Civiliopedia entries for different civs show the column "leaders" (plural!). I hope we can finaly move this to the "confirmed" information....

This really only confirms the ability to have multiple leaders - but that doesn't mean the game will ship with multiple leaders for any civilization. In fact, it doesn't even mean multiple leaders will be added for any civilization even in DLC and expansions.

It just means that the game will allow multiple leaders per civilization - but those may only come through mods.
So don't get your hopes up just yet. ;)

Sorry to dissapoint but the Pedia isn't a viable source :

http://www.dndjunkie.com/civilopedia/CIVILIZATION_BABYLON.aspx

Cuz Civ 5 had the same set up and it never "supported" multiple leaders.

Good catch. In case anyone doesn't quite see it, The pedia's categories list Leaders in it's plural form. This goes along nicely with the fact that, just like civ6, civ5 used the language of Civilizations and Leaders separately in it's product details quite often, despite the two always being connected. As we know, civ5 never had multiple leaders.

From the steam G&K Feature list;

New Civilizations: The expansion will deliver 9 new civilizations, such as Carthage, Netherlands, the Celts, and the Maya (it is 2012, after all), along with their unique traits, units and buildings. The expansion also includes 9 new leaders including William I, Prince of Orange, Boudicca and Pacal the Great.
Why would the 9 new civilizations not include the leaders? One implies the other yet they advertize them anyway.

From BnW Steam;
New Civilizations, Units and Buildings: Nine new leaders and civilizations are introduced, including Poland, Brazil, Portugal, Zulu and more each with their own unique traits, units and buildings.
Once again, much like the language for the upcoming civ6 DLC, Civilizations and Leaders are both specified when they obviously one and the same.

There's a lot of language in civ5 that is very leader centric, and I think this is because over the evolution of the series, Civ has become as much about playing the leaders as it has the civilizations themselves. From the new footage we've seen, Civ6 (annoyingly) continues the trend of civ5 addressing the player during the loading screen as if they themselves are the leader.

Though, I will admit that the Language for the Rough Rider UU is particularly strong. However, as someone else suggested, I'd see it much more likely to have a randomized leader option like in civ4 before multiple leaders return... like in ci4. :p

We'd probably be able to Play as Catherine de Medicci of the Aztec Empire before we see the return of Napoleon.

This! Finally someone said what I've been trying to get people to realise :lol:

In Quill part 6 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWs_gFBct38), there are several level 2 promotions:

Melee (Warrior @ 16:03):
II Commando - Can scale Cliff walls

Recon (Scout @ 4:07):
II Sentry - Can see through Woods and Jungle
II Guerrilla - Can move after attacking

I like those! There are more interesting than civ5 promotions. In particular I don't recall "seeing through woods and jungles" feature anywhere in c5, and cliff climbing is amazing little ability.

Update to posts #218 and #226.

First video with Niter on the map. Appeared under Marbozir's city so can't see its tile there. A version in the discovered fog of war (e.g. M8 @ 18:48) is just east of the Aztec capital he has under siege but so far he hasn't gained sight on it.

Niter - Strategic (M8 @ 1:45, trade screen M7 @ 10:56)

The following are examples of resources that had previously been viewed on the map appearing on the trade screen:

Iron - Strategic (M2 @ 17:23, trade screen M6 @ 18:09)
Coffee - Luxury (FR2 @ 26:30, trade screen C1 @ 47:58)
Incense - Luxury (FR5 @ 5:00. trade screen C1 @ 47:58)
Sugar - Luxury (FR1 @ 8:17, trade screen M6 @ 18:09)
Truffles - Luxury (A1 @ 1:00:30, trade screen C1 @ 47:58)
Whales - Luxury (A1 @ 59:12, trade screen M7 @ 10:56)
