It must have updated because the gui looks different now.

I still get the distorted textures when on DX11:



(it's like my graphics card died, but it didn't because I'm able to play other demanding games without these artifacts or distorted textures)

..and the game still crashes when I play on DX9.

Before that, I'd first suggest that you play a bit around with the settings, in both Civ5 and in the CCC.
Maybe an reduction at some point will be enough to fix the problem.

I've tried every possible combination and the game still looks like that. I never had to change any of these settings, and I could play the game with everything set to high including anti-aliasing, too (but I rarely did - laptop would get too hot), and the game would run smoothly, before the patch.

ok i have a gateway laptop. nv54 could you tell me where I can update for the latest intel chipset family mobile driver for it so I can play civ 5 sincee the last patch. Got a feeling I have the latest driver and no new one is out yet for it.....

So am stuck until somethings comes out or a new patch comes.

yup. nvidia is updated. But i'm running Win8.

I've got two nearly identically notebooks (both dell XPS15, geforce 420m), one Win7, one Win8. Win 7 runs smoothly, Win8 has the problem.

Maybe it is caused by the current drivers? They don't look that stable ...



any ideas? hotfixes? ...?
