Brainstorm Global Condition: You all Lose

Diplomatic victory was kind of a joke in BNW since it was almost entirely centered on bribery with little to no actual diplomacy.

The Culture victory had an interesting dynamic, but the path to it was mostly a boring requirement to build and staff specialist national wonders.

I could see some sort of health bonus for the amount of forest and miasma vs terrascapes and miasma free tiles, so long as it didn't degenerate into mandatory terrascape spam.

Hmm. I had an idea for a hypothetical Mass Effect mod that could implement something like that. The basic idea would be to split food into different yields, one for Earth food and the other based on native life. Earth food is useful to everyone, but Harmony lets you use Xeno food as well, Supremacy would eventually let you forgo food entirely by using production and/or energy as a substitute, and Purity would obviously be centered around increasing Earth food yield. Terrascapes in particular would sacrifice any Xeno food production to focus solely on Earth food, which would be an inefficient trade off for a Harmony or Supremacy player but vital for a Purity player.

While I do support the idea of Supremacy phasing out food for production and energy, I don't think two types of food would add much.

In current lore all colonies can eat some of the native resources, and differences in food supply would be better represented by tile and improvement bonus differences between Harmony and Purity.

Harmony could benefit from native resources, forests, and Miasma while Purity focuses on farms and Terrascapes - though not necessarily limited to that.
