Here's the latest update of the Aligned Icons feature. I have added the optional display of the tech icon instead of its name. I also changed "(WAR)" to the fist icon shown when a city is in revolt.



The columns can be reordered in Python by changing a single line. I'd like to make this available through the INI file. Once that's complete, I think it's finished.

Oh ya, I was also thinking of splitting up the score and civ name so the scores are aligned as well. What do you guys think so far?

Edit: I've committed the current version as it seems stable. Let me know of any issues. Also, if someone could try this out with a multiplayer game, that would be helpful. NetStats (ping), OOS (out of sync) and the current player (*) should show up, and I think the current player is supposed to blink (not sure, hard to tell from code).
Looks good, except that I only meant invisibility along the player's line. I guess that doesn't look right though.

If you could get the scores aligned as well, that'd be awesome! :goodjob:

I liked the look of the faded icons at first, but it looks a little odd to have faded icons for, say, TN and OB but blank space where you can't see an AI's power or research. I could make faded icons optional if people really think that looks nicer.
 
Looking at the picture you quoted above, then, would you have faded icons for the fist when not at war and the spy icon when you don't have more EPs than the AI? If so, would you move them over with the other icons?
 
Well IMO that would be the way to go, but I'm not the programmer. ;)

I also think it will be the best solution.
And if the points go to a different column, maybe they have to be put after the civ(and leader) name, which are the only thing with a not-fixed lenght
 
First, this is a fantastic mod guys! Keep up the good work. :goodjob:

I did run into an issue if I have this mod active and try to launch a multi-player game. It crashed just after the game creation screen. In order to run LAN mp games I have to go back to the default customassets folder.
 
To keep from having to move directories around, however, simply enable the "Lock Modified Assets" checkbox whenever you play with the Extended mod. This will keep BUG from interfering with new Extended games.

Dude, that was super cool of you to look into it. I am sure you are right in that the flavor aspect of your mod is the one running amuck. :lol: I love it though and so will try this lock modified assets option that you have mentioned. Thanks a ton!
 
Which features are currently targeted for 0.16 release?
 
Unit Naming mod is not included in latest version. I'll write a readme and upload it too.

Also with the renamer added, how about we say this next release is ready for 1.0, and Front Page coverage? Say we'll do some more play testing and fine tuning this week and release on next Friday night.

@EF - The score looks great. I'm going to update my SVN and play around tonight, isa.

Edit: Went back about 11 pages and found what we were going to use for sticky threads. Got them all started, but pretty much blank, with just the first thread. No need for Reserved spaces since we can keep it all pretty much in the first post.
 
(a single tear drips down his cheek) EF - The Score is beautiful.... Pity we didn't do this project for Warlords... maybe it would have been included within BTS if we did.;)

Slight problem with the GP bar though. It's in a place where it covers up the most recent event message to be displayed on the screen.
 
Hi chaps, all looks great. Annoying player request; are you going to have the 'buildings built' in the domestic advisor? It was the single most useful thing about the domestic advisor in all the earlier unaltered gameplay mods, especially for culture victories.

Edit; yes the scoreboard looks awesome.
 
Yes there is Mice. With the current domestic advisor it's 100% customizable with different pull down screen you can build. Enable Custom DOmestic Advisor within the Options Tab, and then open up the Advisor Screen. You will notice a ! in the lower left hand corner of this screen. Once there you can add another screen for the different types of buildings. Cammango has already done alot of work on one, that we haven't included yet because it's a bit difficult to install. I'll upload it to the root directory of the SVN on SourceForge. To install it you have to take the .txt file and put it into your root CIV folder. Not in your documents, but of the actual program.

Any chance of getting that changed from the CIV root to the BTS folder in documents before 1.00 is released? This will allow me to include Cammango's version which I think is the gold standard and has almost everything you'd need included.

I've added a few tweaks to the scoreboard. I think I'm done with it for now unless something pressing comes up.

You can now specify the order in which the columns appear from the options screen. The options are listed in a new column under "Advanced Layout" to hopefully make it clear which ones work only with the new layout (e.g. tech icons).

Here's the default display string followed by the meaning of the letters:

SC?WEPTUNBDRA*LO

Code:
S - The civ's score.
C - The civ's/leader's name.
? - You have not yet met the civ.
W - You are at war with the civ.
E - You have a positive espionage point ratio against the civ.
P - The civ's power ratio compared to you.
T - The tech the civ is researching (vassals, teammates and espionage).
U - The number of research turns left.
N - The civ is connected to your trade network.
B - You have an open borders agreement with the civ.
D - You have a defensive pact with the civ.
R - The civ's state religion.
A - The civ's attitude toward you.
* - You are waiting for this civ to finish its turn.
L - Civ's network stats (ping).
O - The network player is out-of-sync.

I used * and ? because that's what displays in the scoreboard itself. Probably "M" would works for "not met" -- what about for "waiting" (W is taken)? Two letter combinations weren't any clearer for the most part, and would require spaces between them for clarity to the player. Any ideas on different codes?

You can remove anything you don't want to see, but putting in a column twice doesn't work. As far as I know, you can specify any order you want.

There's also a new option to left-align the civ/leader name. I'm punting on putting in the faded icons for now. If anyone really wants this, they can beg a little. :)

@Alerum - It's Cammagno. :) Have you tested his settings with the new CDA? I changed the keys for the building and bonus columns because I added a second group for each set. I'm hoping he's working on an updated configuration since he's been quiet. :)

Yes, I'd like to move the file. It's on the list. I'll try to focus on the SF.net task list this week rather than new features. The latter are just more fun to code. :)

Cam's file has been working fine. I think it's because you added things, but didn't change the name of any that were already in there. There were some minor tweaks, and things I had to add into it, but not many.

I'm looking for a new installer that will let me put files into different directories, and even use registry and ini settings, so I *THINK* I should be able to include Cam's file in the 1.00 release regardless. It would be much easier for the user to play with if it was in the BTS folder, so don't let this stop ya.;)

And I'll get his name right as soon as he changes it for us.:p
 
Cammango has already done alot of work on one, that we haven't included yet because it's a bit difficult to install. I'll upload it to the root directory of the SVN on SourceForge. To install it you have to take the .txt file and put it into your root CIV folder. Not in your documents, but of the actual program.

Any chance of getting that changed from the CIV root to the BTS folder in documents before 1.00 is released? This will allow me to include Cammango's version which I think is the gold standard and has almost everything you'd need included.

I want to create a new version for BtS. I've been a bit busy in these last days, but I still can devote some time to make it. I don't know (I had not checked yet) if the building icons for the "normal building columns" are already there. If they are, in a couple of days I'll make the personalized pages (maybe more than one version), if not i'll wait for them and then I'll make the pages. I' ve seen the resource icons, they are ok :)
 
I've added a few tweaks to the scoreboard. I think I'm done with it for now unless something pressing comes up.

@Alerum - It's Cammagno. :) Have you tested his settings with the new CDA? I changed the keys for the building and bonus columns because I added a second group for each set. I'm hoping he's working on an updated configuration since he's been quiet. :)

Ehm... no. Busy :blush: But I also thought that the building icons (for normal buildings) were not there yet. If they are in, in a couple of days I'll make the pages for sure :)
