Here are my suggestions for the next item(s) to build in the cities belonging to Deimos. Feel free to comment anything you want.

Spycatcher

After the caravan I suggest we build marketplace, library, aqeduct and then caravans for trade routes.

Sixchan

Currently building aqueduct with a long way to go. After this I sugget building marketplace and library followed by caravans for trade routes. Sixchan currently has three musketeers in its garrison and IMO two is enough. Maybe we should consider moving one of them to the newly founded city of Thunder Falls three tiles to the right. (Thunder Falls currently has no garrison and is building its first musketeer.) Perhaps something for the military advisor to look into. :)

Unknown City

Unknown City is supporting a crusader that is right now located in Mpondo. While we surely need defenses in Mpondo we do need them here too. Unknown City is bordering to enemies and is likely a target for more invasions. Thus I suggest building an offensive unit, preferable a crusader here after the library is finnished. After this I would like to build a settler here, to help improve the land outside Thunder Falls (on the same island). We should also consider homing that crusader in Mpondo instead.

Joespaniel

After diplomat I suggest temple, library and aqueduct.

Dover

Dover is a likely future hot spot, located at the english main island as it is. (Probably, at least.) Here I suggest city walls and maybe barracks to fortify the area against english attacks. It can be noted that the Monglos have founded the city of Ormuz between Dover and English territory, but I would not count on this preventing the English from sending units towards us.

Mpondo

After aqueduct I suggest marketplace, library and caravans for trade routes.

Marl Downs

After settler I suggest diplomat for defense then temple.

Thunder Falls

After musketeer I suggest harbor and temple. This is asuming we decide to bring the third musketeer in Sixchan, otherwise I would prefer another musketeer to be built here.

Spycatcher-how soon will it need the aqueduct? We might want to consider building it first, then the others.

Sixchan-totally agree on moving the musketeer.

JoeSpaniel-Will it need the temple on its next growth in size? If not, then lets build the library first.

Dover-I forget, do we have Sun Tzu's, or is that one we lost? If we do, a barracks would serve little purpose. Even if we don't, I'm not sure I would go for that, or city walls for that matter. Replace the catapult with a Crusader and add a diplo, and the English will never be a serious threat even without walls (you gotta remember to move a two-move unit out and back in each turn to look for approaching bad guys). We also need a settler here ASAP, though probably not supported from here from the looks of it. I would suggest either a diplo, or a Crusader with the intention of disbanding the catapult once completed.

All else sounds good to me :)

Spycather will grow in like 6-7 turns, so swapping build order is a good suggestion.

We don´t have Sun-Tzus (the germans do).

Joespaniel has four unhappy citizens being taken care of by Michelangelos Cathedral. Unless we move any units outside, Bach´s will take care of the next two meaning unhappiness will not prevent us from building the library first if we decide on it. :)

I agree with sending a settler to Dover and that building one there is no option. However, we seem to be short of them though and other cities need them to, so duke has a tough choice ahead of him (it is the MOI who is in charge of settlers, right?). We are also building one in Marl Downs, close to Dover.

Once again, excellent help!

I have been using a number of extra settlers to settle new cities, and I would agree that we could use some additional. I think that Viroconium and Marl Downs are the only cities currently gathering settlers, and I would be more than happy (in fact I'd prefer) to start some additional ones in other cities. Once the home island cities have all finished their aqueducts and the wonder race slows a bit, these cities could probably support some the best.

In the mean time, we have 3 or so settlers on the home island with very little to do - except perhaps improve around Pellaken Bay. I think it could be a good idea to pull these settlers and send them to areas where they are desperately needed - like the Viroconium island and the Marl Downs Penninsula.

One extra note: with the loss of the caravel earlier in game play, we seem to be relatively short on transport ships. I think some others must have sunk before I came on board, because I could have sworn that we had more. I'm thinking that the gradual adding of 2-3 ships AT LEAST may be a nice option here.

The queues and the ensuing discussions will be a great help and I promise to follow the guidance. One question: with marketplaces and libraries is there any preference as to which to build first? With Smith's on board, perhaps libraries and then marketplaces? I suppose it's six of one and a half dozen of another.

I usually go with Marketplaces first mainly because they give extra cash as well as luxuries.

Definitely marketplaces first. We can keep the proles happy with the extra cash and we will still be the scientific trailblazers thanks to the SSC. We don't really need too many libraries with THDP pumping out so many beakers per turn. It's a good idea to put them in the bigger cities, but we're not really going to notice the difference in beakers until the smaller cities have grown to about size 6. The library bonus is only worthwhile if you're producing quite a few arrows. Marketplaces on the other hand act as temples in democracy and are very useful for happiness. :) And they just give you free money with Smith's as they're only 1gp/turn.

I would have to agree with the general consensus of building marketplaces first.

Maybe Kev or Ren could propes a city or two to build some boats? I'm afraid if we just keep looking at each city individually we'll only build what will help that city, and forget national interests like having enough transports.

Yes, I agree about moving the Musketeer, but we do not have a ship handy, so maybe we should change the caravan orders in Fort Pornstar to Frigate or Galleon? (I would really rather a Frigate because it can attack, but at this rate it will take 2 more turns than a Galleon) Edit 1: Don't forget that a Galleon can carry 4 units and a Frigate only carries 2

Oh, one more thing:

WE NEED MORE BARRACKS!

;)

Is that a draft? Cool. :cooool: Sure, we could build a frigate there before anything else if that is the will of the military advisor. :)

I updated the city summary in accordance to the discussions.
