We could really do with some more African and Oceanic civs, as its a bit of a disadvantage to start as one with so few cultures immediately available.

Back when I could still remember how to mod Civ, I converted the Nubian civ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nubia )to AMD as part of an exercise in adding civs which would use Dancing Hoskuld's then new religion system. (I wanted a second civ that favoured Kemetism) I'm sure the files are practically useless for C2C's purposes, but they're still lurking here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=376746

Potential wonder/building for the culture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramids_of_Meroe_(Begarawiyah) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nubian_pyramids Nubia kept on building pyramids long after Egypt stopped.

And there were the megaliths at Nabta Playa, built 2000 years before Stonehenge : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nabta_Playa

We currently have:

Africa:
CARTHAGE
EGYPT
ETHIOPIA
MALI
ZULU
CONGO
MALAGASY
Total: 7

Oceania:
AUSTRALIA
ABORIGINE
Total: 2

Throw in (for islands):
MAORI
POLYNESIA
total: 2

That makes a total of 11 civs. Now how is that a disadvantage, when only 2 are from USA?? (USA and Confederacy) not counting tribes.

???

I must be misunderstanding what you're saying. As far as I can see, there are 38 cultures in the North American Group, and 52 in the European one, while there are 9 in African, and 6 in Oceanic.

So if you start as African or Oceanic civ, you have less cultures available to you until you conquer someone from another culture group.

Now your confusing available "cultures" (only get Bonus units) from "civs" (that get a whole company of units). Or is that your intention?

I was talking about cultures all along, so far as the disadvantage side of things was concerned.

But Nubia, I think, would make both a good civ, and a good culture.

Nubian is already a culture (ex. BONUS_NUBIAN).

Australia, Aborigine, Maori and Polynesia should all be considered Oceanian. And techniclly Australia is the biggest island of them all (as well as a Continent).

Oh, good grief. I even checked that before I said anything. I'm either mad or blind, so I'm going to go with blind :( Most likely I looked in the wrong place in the Civopedia. And I had the numbers of cultures wrong too. 11 Oceanic, 28 African. So Africa isn't in terrible shape, culture-wise, anyway.

May I kindly remind you that USA is not a continent? :joke:

There are more North American civs if you also count Canada and some natives like Sioux for example.

I think we should have 4 leaders a Civ, for leader diversity

Right NOW we only need 2, when we get 2 per civ for ALL, then we can start with more, but up till then, only 2.

We need to not be using animated leaderheads... I noticed one in a test game but forgot to write down which it was that was using an animated one. I wondered if it was one of the new ones...
