Up until I got TOT last week, I played civ 2 on my playstation. PSX sim/strategy games are fine. Granted that can't hold a candle to a pc. But I can say this, the controller for the PSX is 5 times faster than a mouse/keyboard. Any true Civilization connoisseur would go the PC route though.

Granted, but have you forgotten the long minutes you have to wait for the computer civs to move? It's quite slow you know, in PSX.

One Civ2 game on PSX takes up 2/3 of the memory on your memory card, plus one more for a Hall of Fame. A single memory card cost $20, too.

Still not worth it.........You don't know what you're missing in multiplayer games and scenarios. In fact, the game sucks without multiplayer.

Civ on PSX? No thank you. When I can play the lovely game at my comp I don't feel a need to ( IMHO ) "downgrade" to a PSX. The console just doesn't suit itself very well to strategy games, ESPECIALLY not turn-based ones such as Civ. And for the poor buggers who only own PSX's, I suppose it's good if they get a chance at Civ, but a computer is definitely to recommend...

Hey, stop ganging up on Vanillacube! I have the PS version! It ain't as bad as u think! I dunno how u got the concept of it being slow. My PS1 is on it's last lasers and it still plays fast. Personally, I think the graphics are better for the ps version! It would be nice to make your own civs and maps, but hey, you can't have everything.

I've only got PSX Civ 2 because my PC's knackered and it is fine to get my fix now and again, but it is phenomenally slow in the later game and you don't even get a world map! Not that I'm that concerned with that, as I don't like the world map, but it should have been made an option anyway.

Also, tell me that on the pc, on a large map of any type with the max no. of civs possible, you can have 67 ships active, with 32 cities constantly producing units (my military is huge) at a rate of one every turn, and I have to constantly go 'fortify....fortify....fortify....' every 2 seconds. Tell me that the pc game speed can keep up with that with no slowdown...
