CivCity 4: A One-City-Challenge Interactive Game

Fall from Heaven 2

And sure: If you have questions about it, happy to answer them as good as possible :)

Either LoR or Realism Invictus.

Since we have a tie between LoR and FFH2, I'm going to extend the voting period by 6 hours (ends at 9:30) and if there is still a tie I will flip a coin to decide which mod to play.

I vote LoR

So the tie has been broken in favor of LoR!

Next: what civ/leader are we going to play as? Right now just propose leader/civ and why and we'll vote on them in a day or two. Pericles seems quite good for an OCC, as does Asoka and Henry the Navigator (financial + feitorias).

I'm going to say Henry the Navigator because he isn't in regular BTS.

Pericles is Industrious/Philosophical, the trait combination that vanilla BtS explicitly prohibited because it would be too uber. So I say Pericles.

Alright, since nobody has suggested anybody else, our vote candidates for civ/leader are:

Pericles (Philosophical, Industrious) of Greece
-Strengths: Trait combo brokenly good for specialist economy.
-Weaknesses: UB pretty much useless.
Asoka (Philosophical, Enlightened) of India
-Strengths: Trait combo very strong for science (Enlightened gives +10% science, allows religions to produce culture even when not state religion, and speeds up scientific building)
-Weaknesses: UB is pretty much useless, UU somewhat, doesn't build wonders as well as Pericles.
Henry the Navigator (Financial, Imperialistic) of Portugal
-Strengths: UB combined with Colossus/Trafalgar Square and financial and moai/harbor makes water tiles give 2 food, 1 hammer, and 5 commerce.
-Weaknesses: Imperialistic trait and UU are near useless (except for getting Great Generals in a defensive war), less flexible in which spots to keep.

Current votes:
Pericles - 4
Asoka - 0
Henry the Navigator - 2

If you wish to propose another candidate, you can do so.

Voting ends May 2nd at 10:00 Eastern Standard Time.

Pericles, and then spam wonders and settle those GPs for an absurdly uber city.

Imperialistic useless!!!!!
What blasphemy you dare speak!

Imperialistic is near useless for a one-city challenge unless I get into a lot of defensive wars.

Henry the Navigator (Financial, Imperialistic) of Portugal

Pericles of Greece wins!

The last voting question before we start:

What map type do we want to use? Unless somebody proposes a specific map that might be useful, I will just use PlanetGenerator.

I recommend Totestra, you can download it here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=11480985

It's like PerfectMongoose in which it tries to expand on the concept of the PerfectWorld2 mapscript (which is already pretty good).

I played LoR on Totestra for most of my 4 years of intensive LoR playing and it works perfectly with the mod.

It makes realistic maps, with some health or luxury resources tied to continents, earth-like continents, tectonics, stupidly big Mountain Ranges, air masses, lush and desert between high mountains, several rivers and stuff. It's like a second Earth with the same rules, but made out completely different.

Totestra gives more options to toy with like starting resources (which for an OCC I would say it should be the highest possible) and reducing or not the mountain ranges (I always put no, the mountains become really interesting to play with :D), and some other options.
