The East Wind scn is one of my favourites.

Anyone feels the same?

BTW I think that the bombing of pearl harbor is historically inaccurate for (at least) two reason....Have you noticed them?

great senario...played it alot and did my own upgrading of it

It's also one of my favorites. I've only played it a few times, but I think it's neat because it really offers a couple interesting strategy choices. (For the Japanese player - I've only played the Japanese so far, but I think I might try again sometime soon with the Americans.) For example, it seems like the Japanese get the option to either dedicate resources to taking China or the islands of southeast Asia, but it would be difficult to pursue both objectives simultaneously. (I tend to take China first, and turn it's productive power into taking SE Asia.)

Hmm...historical inaccuracies of PH. I think some time ago I noticed them, but now that I think of it I can't remember what they are.

We should have a multiplayer game sometime!!!

I'm ready to take the Japs

It's a good scenario, but it feels weird when you, as the japs, have so much military power and so little industrial might...
About PH: the amount of troops is a bit ridiculous, and the distance is not really realistic either, since those bombers were historically used shortly afterwards in Manchuria.

There's also somthing else....

Pearl Harbor is not even on the same Island as Honolulu!

Yes the amount of ships is ridiculous.

I LOVE East Wind Rain! It's my favorite scenario. The first time i played it ouldn't finish it beause my hard drive crashed, and when it got fixed i couldn't remember the name of the scenario! i found it a year later.

I can't say it's the best I've ever played, because I'm always too undecided on such matters to say, but it IS a good one. Though admittedly the first turn does take an eternity to go through when they bomb pearl harbor and such...

I have never really got on with scenarios that well but I am going to try my hand at another one after my current game of civ. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of scenarios that I could play. These are my requirements.

1. Not just a wargame
2. Still has elements of civ about it ie lots of advances and scope for expansion.
3. Good long timescale
4. Interesting new techs/units

Any recommendations?

So!

Who wants to play this SCN as mp?

I played EWR so much in the late 1990s.
I eventually modded it myself, as Japan should really have started with a few Chinese cities, and Siam/Thailand was allied with Japan for the war. I removed the French and added the Thai, giving them their own country and French Indo-China at the time.

Loved it.
