I started a Japanese game, 600 AD, had quite some fun, trying to be pacifist. Playing smoothly till the colonization period. Alright, time for some rest. I saved my game. The next time I tried to load, I got an error. I loaded again, and again, couldn't. So I checked the saved game, it has shrink from like 900kb to 1kb.

I thought it was a kind of random error, and ignored it.

Few weeks later, with some free time, I decided to play Turkish. Took out the Arabians as soon as I got Rifling, and conquered the Middle East of Independents. With the Arabs gone, I virtually became the most technologically advanced civilization on the planet. Closest competitor was England, while the Russian was just about 10 points losing in score. I made an impressive standing army, and with enough economy to support, I declared war on Russia. The Russians were no match for me. My Turkish war machine- comprised mainly of Infantry and Artillery, easily conquered the Russians possessions in the Black Sea, Kilia and Sevastopol. In the middle of thinking on whether it would be appropriate to march deeper into Russian soil, The Apostolic Palace announced their decision to stop the war. Then came peace. But it didn't stop me. Turkey was almost invincible in every way. I had the largest population, the highest culture (rivaled very closely by China), the strongest and best equipped military in the world, and a strong economy. The only thing I'm losing is in terms of land. The Russians had the most, while I came in second. That is when I press F8 when it includes my vassals (French, Portuguese, Khmer, and Malinese), its actually the 6th place on F9.

Still, I'm strong. Then the Turkish people learned how to use electricity to their advantage. I looked at the New World, it was getting more heavily populated and developed than my outdated world map showed me, particularly North America. I decided to attack the Islamic States of America, who had allied themselves with Islamic Aztec Alliance.

I prepared a large invasion force, and drew an operation. The tanks and infantry would charge into Washington first, with battleships bombarding the city. The destroyers would closely escort the transport vessels in case of interception by the..err..Ironclads.

Considering how backwards the Americans were, their capital fell without any real fighting. I began airlifting more ground troops into Washington, and few turns later, the entire East Coast belongs to Turkey, from Halifax to Miami. The Islamic States of America had only a handful of cities left, while the Aztecs wasn't much of a bother since their musketmen couldn't even cross the Spanish borders into the battlefield.

It's getting pretty late, so I saved the game with the hope of vassalizing the Americans the next time I play it, or a peace treaty (I'm afraid the stability will fall to unstable if I keep expanding).

The next time I tried to load the game, which is today, I got the error again. I checked the file, and to my horror it has shrink to 1kb again, from 1000kb+. Damn.

Anyone else experiencing this?

erm..am i the only one experiencing this? now i'm kinda reluctant to start a new rfc game coz afraid it might happen again.

While I very much enjoyed hearing your Turkish AAR, you might catch Rhye's attention better if you post a more succinct report in the bugs thread.
