Enhanced User Interface v1.30l

Seriously though, how do I get rid of that shadow along the left edge of the screen? It's incredibly irritating and shows up even with the Unit List disabled. :(
 
Perhaps someone here can help me. I'm getting a graphical glitch. None of the unit icons appear over units when using this mod. They do appear on strategic view. I will include a screenshot.

When i start up the game(with mods at seen in the test 1-3 screenshots) and click the city screen, the city screen`s production bar will be a little bit to far left to be on the screen, when scrolling that bar, the back-round will show up on the top, and on the top bar both in and out of the city screen, several icons are slightly off from where they should be. EDIT: After uninstalling EUI and clearing my cache, the choose production button still does not work.
 
Every time I put my cursor over a building to see its abilities a message will appear instead. Sometimes it'll say:

Assets\DLC\UI_bc1\Core\EUI_tooltips.lua:1251:attem pt to call field 'Building_CorporationResourceQuantity' (a nil value)

and sometimes it'll say:

Assets\DLC\UI_bc1\Core\EUI_tooltips.lua:906:attemp t to call method 'GetBuildingInvestment' (a nil value)

I'm not big on coding so I have no idea where to look to fix this problem and what to do even if I did find the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated?
 
If I use custom civs (JFD, MC) all city names and health bars are invisible. I've tried deleting the CityBanners subfolder but I can't get it to work to save my life. Even when I tried removing each subfolder one by one it didn't fix the problem, so I guess it's an issue with the Core folder?

This is probably a super common/dumb question but I've searched everywhere and haven't been able to find anything that works. D:

PS: My game is up to date and I'm using the latest stable version of EUI.

All expansions and DLC
Playing on W10 Pro 64bit, Version 10.0.10586 Build 10586

UI isn't loading at all on startup (i.e. all company splashes, intro video, and legal screen appear).

Lua.log shows nothing:
[31751.109] Initializing Lua 5.1.4

(It's just the one line)

Are you using the redone Promotions mod? I think its incompatible. I had this issue too.
 
Fist of all I want to say that is a great mod. But only problem is this mod conflict with Civ IV Diplomacy Features Mod (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=494538). I really don't want to choose between this two. Is there any way you can make this mod compatible version of Civ5 Enhanced User Interface! Again thanks for this awesome mod. @bc1

From the download page section "Mods compatibility"

* Civ IV Diplomacy Features Mod v10: should work provided you remove CDM's TopPanel.lua from its ...\UI\InGame folder (EUI DLC's TopPanel.lua is compatible with CDM, the reverse is not true)

I use the version 11 of this mod and works fine. Just remove the TopPanel.lua and all goes normal (BTW, in v11 the file is located on \LUA )
 
Hey. Question: mod compatibility: does the interface work with communitas mods? I tried to load Communitas but there was no UI to work with, just the map. Keyboard commands work, but no unit information...thanks!

From the download page section "Mods compatibility"

* Communitas Expansion Pack: EUI DLC 1.6 & CEP 3.15 are compatible. However CEP will override EUI DLC's top panel, tech tree, and city view modules (see EUI DLC feature list for details of lost functionality, one impact is that annexing puppets is only possible by clicking on the city banner's puppet icon, another is possible slowdowns late game because CEP UI files are modified Firaxis files not optimized to cope with EUI DLC's enhanced tooltips)
 
Hello.

First of all, thank you for this AWESOME mod. I didnt play Civ5 for some time and now returning to it with this is really refreshing.

However, I have 2 things I would like to change to the "old way". Also, I am using the latest version.

1. Units Panel.

I already done this. I created a "bkp" folder inside the:
D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\UI_bc1
and moved the "UnitPanel" folder inside. That returned the Old Unit Panel.
I am not sure if I needed to move all the files or maybe there was another way but it works.

2. Production Tab

This I still cannot figure out how to return to the old view. The whole Production (be it when something has finished building or when I want to buy something) is embedeed into the City View (and also I am not sure why some gold stuff is blocked out but I have enough gold but maybe that is the issue for later):

I tried to move some files around but it always ends badly (something broken) so I need to return the files. I cannot find the way to return the old-way lookin (big left side) Production Tab.

I hope someone can help me. I was watching a Lets Play series and I believe it is possible. I would like for EUI to look like this:

Units panel, I advise deleting the folder or moving it completely out of the civ 5 tree. I'm actually surprised that what you did worked, but if you hit any problems try this first.

City View, you only have gold for a scout, the red numbers are how much more you need to buy that item. Only realistic choices are accept the EUI city view or delete the folder and return to the standard city view.
 
Error is probably caused by mods, but leads back to EUI:

Sometimes the Upgrade Unit button has a failed tooltip, and throws this error.
 
Hi, I have a question... I feel like I found the answer before but I wanted to ask you guys myself to be sure.

Playing on single player and multiplayer works fine, but whenever I try playing with mods (I've tried with mods that add in new civilizations, tried just new wonders, then just Community Patch, and then with absolutely nothing) and weather or not I'm playing as a modded civ, I am unable to see and unit options and check technology or production once the tabs show up.

I was able to settle a city and do other tasks via hotkeys, But it is inconvenient for me to have to figure out what does what ( in other words I'm just lazy :lmao:)

I believed I read that I might need to delete the unit lua, but if that's the case what do I do about the production and science bar? and if that isn't the case then what advice can I get from ya?

Awesome mod btw, cant wait to fully experience it!

Playing on Linux on a laptop
No mods enabled: pure BNW + EUI


The game crashes once in a while. But it seems to favour specific turns. It can go on turn 47 and 146 (I have observed these more than once). I have also observed (once, in the same game): 184, 368, 391.

When I say "crash" I mean it exits to the desktop. No callstack, no message.

I have the same version of EUI on my Windows PC and it runs without issue.

Attached are all logs and two savegames. One savegame from the game which crashed for these logs, and another savegame which crashed previously (for which I have no logs).

One has to END TURN before the crash occurs; it happens during the AI turn processing (on MOST occasions), but I have encountered it while scrolling around the map during my own turn as well.

Same here. I was caught off guard since EUI used to be rock solid. So solid that I didn't even bother to keep the zip file of the last update when this update came out.

I actually think we're at that point between just enough features and one too many. I was quite happy with EUI the way it was. By trying to pack every piece of information onto the screen, it starts to feel a bit overwhelming for one and it crashes the game the other.

Don't want to sound ungrateful since EUI is probably the best thing that's ever happened to Civ5 but it's not of much use if the game crashes a couple of times within the hour and you lose several turns and had to do over.

Hope the next update come out within the next couple of weeks. Hate to play Civ5 without it, which is what I have to do now.

The EUI was working flawlessly until Steam downloaded upgrade to BNW (I played off line for a few months).
As a result it erased all saved plays and EUI won't show.
In DLC I erased the old version I had to the most recent one UI-BC1
I have done the process several times without result.
Could someone please help me ?

I just have one minor issue: In the last EUI update a lotta stuff was added to the UnitFlagManager folder. Apart from only one exception, I totally like everything about it. The problem I have is with aircraft stationed in enemy cities. While I can see the number of planes stationed in the city above the city name, I however cannot see what particular kind of aircraft is stationed in the city, as the list is not showing up at all. I assume it actually wants to display this new cycle kind of thing that's showing up when you click on the number of aircrafts above your own cities. It doesnt work with foreign cities though.

Also, mods do not seem to have anything to do with that (tried it). I am just using Infoaddict and Enlighenment Era anyways.

I just do not want to delete the whole folder as I like all the other stuff about it. Maybe there is some expert who can tell me which exact part of the folder I have to change? :) Would be awesome!

Sorry not to be particularly useful, but I'd like to know this as well! Anyone can say how to at least change it so it's back to the way it used to be in vanilla civ 5? Would be extremely helpful!
 
I found the code that does the dimming of the screen. It's in a file called PlotHelpManager.xml in the PlotHelp folder.

Lines 10-14 control the dimming of the left hand side:

You can disable this code in various ways, including deleting these lines, or changing 128 to 0 on line 14. A solution that switches the dimming on and off depending on if the unit or city list option is selected should be possible, but hopefully this workaround will help for now.

As for the aircraft issue, the choices are either to accept the current situation or to delete the UnitFlagManager folder, which would lose all of the features it provides. To produce a version that either addresses the issue or undoes only the aircraft changes looks far from easy. Hopefully BC1 will return to the project and provide a solution.

I'm new to the Mod-Scene and have tried in recent days some mods, including your Awesome EUI Mod.

I'm playing two Mods actually, yours and the Super Power Modpack v5.1 and both alone are great, but i want to play both in combination. And so heres my question, is it possible to get more compatiblity on these two mods for the "UnitPanel" and "CityView" Modules?
