Few More Buildings for VP

Not sure if Cemetery is working correctly, doesn't seem to be giving Faith on expending a Great person anymore (maybe I messed it up), but I don't really have the knowledge/experience to fix it.

For me it works well.
Finally, thank you for not touching my buildings, please. Or by making it clear that it is an alternative and without breaking them.

Yes I was only altering the Civilopedia entries and tooltips to better match vanilla style, and added icons/fixed typos where needed. I've tested the version of Cemetery that I uploaded and it seems to be working fine, I think @CAYM's wasn't giving Faith properly, may want to check.

I made a mistake in my LUA positioning code.

I just played it and found it to work well.

@gwennog Do you have "official" pack of new buildings? Thread is a mess of official and unofficial releases. I have some old versions on my device, so I thought about updating.
Also, because @Asterix Rage is no longer here, maybe you could make new thread with links etc?
 
I wonder why no one created Fire Brigade? I would do that, but I'm too busy with m current mods. If anyone can, please add such custom building.
I know it's been a while but I've come across this thread and I think this community project is great. I'm interested in giving this a try as my first mod, however I have no idea how to properly balance this.

I think it makes sense for it to be in, or near, the Industrialization tech as that was around when publicly funded fire departments started rapidly appearing (according to Wikipedia :lol:). I believe that the building should be focused on improving city infrastructure as a way to represent the "damage control" they do. Here are some ideas I have:
  • Reduce distress and/or urbanization
  • Reduce empire size modifier
  • Raise happiness and/or production [the factory is already in Industrialization]
  • Firefighter specialist that does one or more of the above ^
  • Raise repair speed (by 33 or 50%) on pillaged tiles for workers
I'll make my best attempt at a balanced approach but in the meantime I'm curious what others think.

I would drop firefighter specialist. Looks too complicated.

Also, once this is properly balanced, I would be happy to recompile the modpack with the newest versions of all of the buildings since the last official release by Asterix Rage.

There's been no comments about balance, and I've had a free weekend, so I decided to just go ahead and make the new version of the Few More Buildings modpack. I'm not sure if I should make a new thread or something (I'm new to this community but love Civ and modding) so I'll just leave it here for now.

I decided to make a Separated version (like Asterix Rage did), but also an All in One version as well, where all of the buildings show up as a single mod in the list. I've refactored some of the code from others' buildings to improve readability and performance, but no functionality has been changed.

I used the most recent versions of the buildings, however I did not include any of the changes from CAYM or jwfoo555 in this "official" release due to these not being my creations; I didn't feel comfortable modifying others' works without permission. I do agree with some of the ideas they had though, such as removing random promotions from the Recruitment Office.

All that being said, I present:

Hi Franzacq,

Very good initiative, thank you for taking up this thread and completing it with a building. If you want to create your own thread, personally it doesn't bother me at all, the advantage is that it is easier to find new versions versions modified by you even if you did.

If you outsource images (on imgur f.e.) the limit per post increased to 30 ;) Otherwise you may only post 10 pics per post.

Small things I noticed:

In Casino there should be "Citizens" instead of population, "City" instead of "city" and "Hotel" instead of "hotel".

Cemetery similar upper case issues.

Ski Resort and Marina both lack 1 period in the description.

Clock tower should have space after 7.

One question - for the Ski Resort and Marina, where in the description are you talking about? I'm having trouble finding the missing periods.
 
VP always has a comma before the "and" for lists of 3 or more items.
