Hi,
Before I start complaining, I'd like to say that Civ4 is an excellent game, with very addicitive gameplay! The only problem I am experiencing with the game is that it tends to slow down considerably 15-20 mins into the game (from the medieval era onwards). I am also playing on a large Terra map with six other AI players. At the moment in the game I have an average FPS of 35, which goes down to 10 as the slow down begins. When I Alt+Tab out of the game then back in again, the slowdown goes away although it does come back 5 mins later.
The graphic settings for the game are set to 1280 x 1024, 2xAA, High, High, High. I reduced the AA from 4x to 2x which has helped slightly.
The spec of my computer is:
FX-55 2.6ghz
XFX 6800 GT (256mb)
1 GB RAM
66 GB free space
Changing the graphic settings to medium or low would be doing my computer and the game injustice.
Anyone know if there is a way of stopping this?
