Game won't let me delete units

Sorry to sound like I am . .. .. .. .. .ing, but this is one of the most ponderous and user unfriendly games that I have ever played.

I have been using the worldbuilder editor to make the game move quicker and more easily. I have been adding and deleting transport units. Suddenly the game will not let me delete units any more when I previously had no problem deleting them.

I was very excited to see this game come out since I have been playing the original Colonization since it first came out. Even though it is a simple game by today's standards, the original colonization can be made to move fast and easily.

Can you post a save or screenshot?

I am not really sure how to take a screenshot and post it.

I am not sure that it would accomplish much.

When I try single or double clicking on the skull icon on the far right of the unit menu on the bottom of the screen it no longer lets me delete units.

I started another game from scratch. Sure enough a few dozen turns into it the game no longer let me delete units.

To make things even stranger, I saved the game and went back to it later on and it allowed me to delete pieces.
