Have you been stung by a jellyfish?

No, but I swam face first into a dead one once when snokeling in Cuba. It happened to me just after a 10 year old boy from Germany got stung by one. From the look on the poor kid's face it scared the hell out of me!

Once when I was splashing about in the waves and pretending to be a rhinoceros (this delightful fantasy was cut short by intense pain in my leg) and once a couple month later when I flipped one on the shore over.

Yes, once in Israel. In the months May and June the normally so busy beaches are almost completely empty in this season.

Not much, man of war. They are common sometimes on the east coast of south florida. I knew someone who had one drag across his back while snorkeling... that was nasty.

Nope, because I swim smartly. As in, I rarely go into the water except at pools and very rarely vacation.

Today, I was surfing and trying to impress some girls on the beach. While I was out in the water, a jellyfish wrapped itself around my torso. I started to yell and freak out, making a huge scene. I grabbed it off of me, only to realize that I was freaking out over a plastic grocery bag. FML

I live in England so we don't have many stinging jellyfish, and these ones were missing their tenticles.
