I have 97 out of the 140 achievements. thats 69%.
I just want to know if this is alot or not.
I think most of you got more.
I couldn't find a ranking list or something
I must stop beginning my sentences with I.

:D

You don't get achivements while playing with mods, so achivs aren't so popular in civ like in other games, since many players use 1 or several mods.

Prior to the latest patch, 104 was the most anyone had unless they somehow managed to trigger one of the bugged achievements. A few of the old ones have been fixed, so assuming all 20 new ones work the new "high score" for achievements would probably be in the 125-130 area. Most of the achievement discussion at CFC has been in 2 topics in the Strategy forum: the Complete List of Steam Achievements and Hidden Steam Achievements

Hello,

I have neutral feelings about achievements, but to some degree they can tell you if the game is really too easy, as many people claim. Here are the numbers from the global achievement list for completing the game on:
Settler: 16%
Chieftain: 25%
Warlord: 14%
Prince: 13%
King: 5%
Emperor: 2%
Immortal: 1%
Deity: <1%
Don't ask me why this does not add up to 100% I cannot believe that it is because about 25% cannot win the game even on Settler difficulty. Maybe 25% of all players don't play while connected to their steam account.

But it does show that the majority plays on the lower skill levels. Without any deep analysis and by just looking at the above numbers, I would say that it looks like a Gaussian distribution centered at the Chieftain/Warlord difficulty. So, apparently, in terms of the a v e r a g e player the game is not too easy. P e r s o n a l l y, I find CiV much easier than Civ IV BTS. In Civ IV BTS I was never able to get past the Noble/Prince level whereas I can win CiV on King/Immortal (post-/pre-patch, and I haven't tried on Emperor after the patch yet).

huh?

It shows nothing. And they don't add up to 100% because ... why would they? they are not interrelated statistics.

Why can't 25% of the poeple beat even settler? maybe the majority of people don't play that setting? I personally haven't tried anything lower than prince. I'm not even sure if my prince victory is registered in that statistic because i play with mods.

And no.. it also doesn't show that the majority of people play on lower settings. One coud stipulate that people try out the game on lower setting, then pick up mods and move on the 'real' difficult settings. I personally believe most people play on prince simply because it is the 'normal' setting.

I hate to admit it but i certainly used this cheesy trick to go from about 64 to a solid 70 while waiting for v1135 since i wanted to keep China & Japan Leaders + Deity Win unlocks for later.

It looks like i'm getting very near to ALL_UNITS (Model of a Modern Major-General) with methodic tracking of values; possibly the only interesting (somehow) one in the bunch!

But wait... there's a new kid in town -- ACE & its closest ally LeoPaRd below!

See my signature for mine... I have a lot, and when I'm bored, I go into "Achievement Hunting" mode... Which means I'm bored alot...

Arrrrggghghhh.. once more -- Read this thread!

The point with MODS is that some alter gameplay (comprehensively off-limit for fair Steam rankings) or NOT.

BomberEscort (and, you too bryanw1195!), i'll need your precious boring time (probably half-an-hour or less) soon for this;

Z-EraCorner.lua+xml & its button & popups while putting the final spreadsheet XLS file online for statistical gathering of opinions by players in a Forum post; What's best (TUBW) for any Victory conditions per Eras, etc.

I just can't believe you actually don't have "Khaaaan!" already.:D:lol:

Khaaaan!

I tried to get that one, by letting my scenario pre-win save continue to the end... It didn't work. I may need to play it again...

It appears that if you are ahead in points when time runs out, you still "Win". To get the Khaaaan! acheivement, you have to be behind in points AND have time run out! For future reference Firaxis, turn off the 'Time' victory condition for scenarios...

Will the achievements be counted when I get my internet back after playing in offline mode?

I've got 64 achievements, but I'm not really hunting for them. I enjoy trying out different tactics each game. I have however put my pride into never getting the achievements for settler to prince victories. I'm surprised BomberEscort doesn't have the trader achievement. It was one of the earlier achievements for me, and the only one I have that he doesn't have.

57/140 for now.
Yesterday I somehow got this: "Unlocked: Jan 2, 2011 4:19pm
I Can Has Nukes?
Drop a Nuke on another Civ." - though I never built a nuke, not even speaking about firing it.

I enjoy some of the achievements, but also like mods unfortunately. I like the conditional ones though, like win cultural with ghandi with three or fewer cities or eliminate all know players before 350 bc as alexander.
