How to change custom option mid game

We start mp game but after 300 turns, game becames OOS so I want to disable random events option instead of starting a new game?
I am trying to edit save file but that's doesn't seems "easy" in binary format as I found the option to have the same value 17 00 00 00 in both original game with "no random events" option unselected and the new game where the same option is selected. Maybe it is referencing a variable???

Not possible in multiplayer games without writing some dedicated code for it.
