Hulfgar's Modpacks - Industrial and Complete Edition

Hiya been experimenting with your mod. Had a huge 853 gb save that scared the heck out of me. Downloaded ver 8 gonna give that a shot. I have been away awhile from civ, feels good to be back.

which version of the mod?
which generation of marines ? :
1. generation (Marine Infantry) : just let them walk on the light cruiser or cruiser
2nd. generation (Marine Regiment) : in the Complete Edition they can be loaded only on the Amphibious Assault Ship.

The reason is because of the Amphibious Assault Vehicule : if it gets the same specialunit tag as the Marine Infantry then AAV could be loaded on cruisers (and we don't want this).
For the Marine Regiment they get either the specialunit tag of the Marine Infantry or the one of the AAV.
I'm not completely happy with this but because in WW2 they was already some escort carriers with marines I choose to give them the same tag as the AAV.
The result is that the Marine regiment can be loaded only on Amphibious Assault Ships.
 
Hi again, version is the latest complete edition. I meant marine infantry, first generation. I tried to let them walk on cruiser but they just embark on water not ship. when i move one of them from the same tile, they get separeted.
 
Corrected version 8 : Hulfgars Modpack Complete Edition for BNW Beta2

Corrected a bug preventing the Marine Infantry to be loaded on the Light Cruiser.
Added Strelsty skin from Wolfdog as Russian and Polish Musketmen.

Dadaloglu please tell me if it solves your issue : I tested the Marine Infantry with the cruiser and it worked as intended (the infantry being loaded on the cruiser) but it did not work with the light cruiser; this is now corrected.

One question, is it possible to integrate this unit (Super Carrier) in your mod? i found it on WHoward's Pick'N'Mix Mods

i think this unit should be in your mod.

i activated it with your mod, but i think not all modern fighters (not bombers) couldn't be based on the carrier.

yes it is not difficult to transform my nuclear carrier into WHoward's super carrier. I will make a quick fix for this.

That's because I use a specific "special unit" tag (i.e. SPECIALUNIT_NAVY_FIGHTER) for the navy fighters while Whoward's Super Carrier still has the vanilla "SPECIALUNIT_FIGHTER" tag.

thank you for your reply, but one other question, do you mean, you wi'll replace the graphics of your nuclear carrier with the graphics of the super carrier? I think it schould be a own unittype, because some nations have a nuclear carrier but i think only the americans have super carrier's.

The graphic will be that of the planned french and british next generation nuclear carrier (already used for them in my mod and by Whoward for his mod) and the unit itself should be available to all nations for now.

There is no other modern carrier skin available at this time and I don't make skins myself :(


As for the fact that all nations will be able to build this nuclear carrier :

Well if I give America all the UUs that they deserve those days : they alone will have a 5th generation fighter (and the Russian for this one), a stealth bomber, some really stealthy boomers, ...

But Civ5 is not about history : each nations has a chance to get the best technologie or I should remove all the nations that have vanished in the past and removed from Germany the ability to build nuclear weapons, modern carriers and nuclear subs ;)

If it's easier for you you can PM me in german (but not in bayerish please :) )
 
Bayrisch is no german language.
Bavaria is called North Austria.

about the savegame bug :

when you start a game save immediately and check the savegame : if it's something like 12ko in size then it is bugged. Restart the computer before trying a new game.

This will at least spare you the frustration of playing hours just to find out that the savegame are corrupted.

I still get the bug over and over Hulfgar.
I did what you said (see quote) and a few turns later the save is corrupted again and the game wont load anymore (run time error)
I always use quicksaves and overwrite the previous one.

Isn"t there really a way to avoid this bug (by a certain way of saving ... autosave, quicksave, whatever ... ) It makes the game unplayable for me and going back to vanilla without all those cool units of your mod, isn't an option anymore. :sad:
 
Sometimes i get the Savegame bug too and i had to restart the game, but after a few restarts it works. it is always different.

Bavaria and Austria can't be the same or belong together, because we speak complete different languages for Example:
People from Northern Germany would be called in Austria: "Piefke"
in Bavaria we would call this people "Saubreiss"
it's complete different...

Just notice something I think is odd... Resource Ivory Produces Elephant Shouldn't it be Elephants produce Ivory? (This is in the building too) Also resource wine should be grapes and produce wine (Could add Winery as a building +1 Gold)
I also got a fatal crash to desktop trying to reload my last game. I had researched all the techs and was in my first few turns of Future Tech. The Quicksave was also corrupt.

That's because the people at Firaxis are not aware that you need grappes to make wine ;)

Resource Ivory Produces Elephant Shouldn't it be Elephants produce Ivory? (This is in the building too)

Ivory is the vanilla resource, I wanted the elephants to give a logical prereq to the war elephant units. I could rename Ivory "Elephants" but then it would require a new Ivory resource.
A lot of work with a lot of bugs possibilities for something just cosmetical, but I will think about it.


Grimreaper2000 have you tried the steam cloud saves?

And if you have the save game bug delete the corrupted saves and restart the computer, it's the only way to have a chance to get good saves.
 
Is it possible to have thee original farm landscapes??

btw game crashed after some turns in moderm era, will try a new one with the 8 version.
 
Hi Hulfgar,

After i capture a city, game no longer asks me what to do with that city,it just occupies it. This problem showed up after your beta1 update.
