What are you talking about, Juize?

"Finnkampen", one of few annual athletics competitions between two countries. Very tactical, very competitive, very fun.

Oh, and we crushed the finns.

Oh yes, but wait until next year, then--- we'll lose again. Why we don't have any good runners?!

Oh, I thought that it might be 10 pin bowling - the scores seem about right for an international competition.

And Snapcase, as the Duke of your home town, I have to inform you that its Roman name is Eboracum, not Eboranum. The archbishopric is still called Ebor though.

Nah... far too small for that standard. My best score is 213 and I'm nowhere near county standard let alone international.

Hey Juize. Wht don't you tell us more about it? Is this just a regular athletics competition or does it include local or Nordic games too?

I'll just shorten it to Ebor. That's what's used in all the advertising and place names anyway (Ebor Taxis, Ebor Industrial Estate... )

the swedish ladies won for the first time in 15 years!

Well, its annual (1 times/year) competition between Sweden and Finland just to compare
nations power of athletics. I guess Hitler originally invented it to nationalize the
Finland out of Russia, but anyway, it is practically most interesting sports event
in here among the ice-hockey. Its a competition just between Sweden&Finland, but I wouldnt call this athletics event a 'regular'.

Yeah, Stormerne, you're right - even I've had over 200 and I'm nowhere near primary school standard let alone your standard. I really don't know what I was thinking of with that. I haven't bowled for so long I'd forgotten what the scores were. That Simpsons episode where Homer gets the maximum possible score is brilliant though.
Oops - you don't have a telly do you.

I spend several months a year in Sweden (a little north of Stockholm in a University city called Uppsala), and have many friends and relatives there. I have no idea what this topic is about, LOL... .

Well I live in Lund which is a university city in southern Sweden, I have been living in Sweden all my life, and I havent got a clue either

I regularly have sex with a Swede. (And NO, Chris, my hand is not Swedish.)

Well, I think the title to this thread is kind of silly and misleading... as I think Juize does not really "hate" Sweden.

As an American, I find amusement at Finland's "inferiority complex" (I've had lots of Finnish & Swedish friends)... at one time, Sweden basically beat the crap out of most northern European countries. Plus, whether the Russians of this century acknowledge it or not, Swedes (actaully, Vikings) are responsible for creating Russia, and even the name "Russia" comes from the viking term for the military rulers ("Russ", pronounced "Roose", with a rolling R sound).

Anyway, I figure my blurb is as relevant as whatever the topic of this thread is supposed to be, LOL .
