If you had the time...

  • My scenario of the Wars in Beleriand, based on 'Fall of Beleriand' and 'Dagor Bragollach' (taking place on my gigamap of Beleriand)
  • Great Northern War
  • A fictitious scenario about the foundation of Sweden
  • Various other scenarios taking place in JRR Tolkien's Middle-Earth

Possibly the perfect WW2 scenario to end them all...:D

Alternately, a giant Star Wars space epic set in the "Empire" period - might do it this year!

:D
Always striving for the ultimate ww2 scenario. ;):b:
And about that SW scenario. It sounds like a good idea. I'm more than willing to help. If I might request one thing though, don't make random clusters of planets as the map. There are maps of the SW-galaxy out on the internet. At least let them inspire you ;)

I have thought more about Caesar civil war, I think it might be doable, if I were only to take the Italian theater, rather than try to show all of the war.

Anyone know if there is a map of northern/central Italy?
There are maps in several scenarios. Spartacus, Up the Deadly Boot, Hannibal's War, The Italian Wars etc.

  • Finish Pomarj II for ToT (hopefully this year)
  • Discworld II for ToT (with maybe a revised version of Discworld I as a starter)
  • a few other scen ideas I have been nurturing for a long time...
  • and if I really have the time, try to do something based on Nemo's Blitz (that one will probably never occur...)

Didn't Nemo gave up on the Blitz 'cause some units didn't behave in the end as they should. Maybe this problem can be overcome in ToT, as i really enjoyed playing the Blitz. Anything based on it would be a blast i think.

2) Caucasus. I made a smaller, playable map with just Armenia and Azerbaijan on. But there's no rush, I have to really think out the tech tree.

Yes there is :)

Myself, I have loads of ideas for scenarios...
1) byzantine reconquista of IX-XI century
2) fall of Poland in XVIII century
3) Malta scenario, a very old idea of mine that consisted mostly of sea fights (your goal was not to let the Turks cross into Italy)
4) chess...
5) III silesian uprising (I'm from Upper Silesia after all...)
6) Teutonic Knights
7) the birth of Osman empire

I remember someone working on a Teutonic Knights scenario. But that was some years ago and I don't even know if he's still with us (as in active on the forum. ;)

IIRC The issue was that the AI would stack a few hundred units in one place, eager to be destroyed. This could be "fixed" with stackable terrain, I suppose, but in my opinion allowing stackable terrain is not a good solution for a primarily air-scenario. Half the strategy should be how to escort bombers, and how to fly the bombers in a good formation to minimize losses.

I think an air war scenario is much better suited to Multi Player. If I were to "redo" the Blitz, I'd make it a multi-map scenario (which I'm sure would cause even more issues for the AI) where you'd basically have 3-4 layers of altitude:

1. Sea level to say, 8k
2. 8.1 to 16k
3. 16.1 to 24k
4. 24.1 to 32k

This would add a great dimension to air battles, IMO, as it would be much more likely that certain units could bounce other ones. Fighter sweeps and radar waves (an air unit meant to never land) would play a crucial role.

One plan for Over the Reich called for this many maps, but it's impossible to have them and the RAF, so it was scratched.

I believe there was an old scn about TK, dating from the 90's. Its author was Michael Daumen or something like this.

@Squonk
Might have to check that one out. Though the one I'm talking about was new and never got a release.

Was this the scenario you were thinking of? I was looking forward to it as well, but sadly I don't think the author, von bert, has been active recently.

If I had the time AND the skills, I would really like to make a scenario depicting gritty modern urban warfare in a bombed out metropolis, sort of like that civ 3 scenario "escape from zombie island" but in the setting of the DMZ comics.

Another idea I've had for years now was an aberration type global scenario but set around AD 100, "New World Order" type deal but with the Roman empire, the Han dynasty and a Mayan kingdom on steroids battling for world supremacy.

Ingvarr, I think I have a never before used map of Italy that Harlan made for me years ago for "Boot II" which I never completed.

Do you still need a map? I could see if I could find it tonight...
