The Eighth Legislative Session Council is here by closed:

Primary notion/objective:

- Destroy NA remnants. Without mercy.

Other notions/objectives:

- Abolish Slavery: Build up our Empires population.

- Build up the Imperial Navy.

Acts:

Abolish Slavery Act:

- Slavery is here by deemed illegal in the lands of Artonia, all Slaves are to be set free and re-assimilated into society as equal men.

Social Growth Initiative Act:

- As a result of the recent adoption of Slavery, many Artonian Citizens died in the great 'Slave Purges' which sacrificed our man power for the war-effort. The Social Growth Initiative Act is geared towards Population growth, replenishing the population that was lost during the enactment of Slavery.

The Imperial Navy Arms Act:

- Coastal Cities are hereby ordered to build Naval Units and Naval Infrastructure in order to strengthen the Artonian Navy and to also secure our Coastal borders.

The Serfdom Act:

- In place of Slavery, our wise and prudent Emperor has decided to enact the Civic of "Serfdom". All men and women who are seen fit to undertake labor, and who do not belong to the High-Castes will hereby be Serfs.


I, Lord Pei Fuataga, the head of the Fuataga family and Pro-Consul to the Emperor hereby announce this Council meeting formally closed. Long live the Emperor! Long live the Empire!
 
Thank you Pro-Consul Pei Fuataga, the councils' suggestions are in line with mine. I hereby declare Slavery illegal in the Artonian lands. I shall immediately reform our labor structure and institute Serfdom. The upkeep is low and will assist us in redeveloping new conquested lands. The only other option is Caste System, but our economy is not structured around city specialists. I thank the council and declare that the Emperial House of Octavia shall be relinquishing the Crown after this turn session.

1490 AD Dutch Peace Accord
Emperor Claude arranged a secret meeting between all of the Nations on the Continent. This meeting also included Darius, a close friend of the Emperor. He knew the council was pushing for a merciless end to the war but the aging Claude was sick of the carnage. He'd spent his life learning the Arkan Warrior Culture and displaying it well on the battlefield. Perhaps it was the letters he received from his son and close friend or maybe it was the great responsibilty of being Emperor. Nevertheless he entered the Dutch Caravel off the coast of Hun, where most of the world leaders were engaged in a heated debate. When Emperor Claude began to speak they all went silent and listened to his words....




While the Emperor was attending the meeting the people of Artonia rebeled against their slave masters. Word spread fast after the council of lords announced the abolishment of slavery. The Fuataga Family brokered a deal and the Caste System was adopted as our Emperial labor policy. The Empire was once again at peace and all of the citizens and laborers were back to work.

1495-1520 AD A divided Empire
After the Emperor made peace with the Nativa Americans the Artonian Nobles were divided. While the Empire was once again thriving and regaining its economy most felt betrayed by the secrecy of the Peace Accord. The Generals were furious with Claude and their hatred was fueled by the Emperors only son Sir Civius. Most of the Governors remained loyal to Claude and went back to building economic infrastructure. However there were quite a few that did not and followed the orders of Civius and continued the military buildup.

1525-1545 AD Claude overthrown


Sir Civius was gathering support in the Empire but it was not enough. Most Governors loyal to him were being swayed back to the Emperors side. Only the Military and a handful of Governors were still actively opposing Claude. It seemed he had once again fallen short from glory. That was until he was summoned by the Jewish leaders in Arkan. When he arrived a man wearing full combat army, covered in relkigious tattoos approached him. "I am Xer and the people of the Jewish faith stand behind you. Do you also stand with us, Emperor?" Hearing the word made him feel empowered. The Jewish faith stretched the entire Artonian Empire and would give the backing he needed to overthrow his father. The military coup was swift and precise, most of the Emperial Gaurds were of the Jewish Faith. Claude was Arrested and imprisoned under the Palace in Artok.

Emperor Civius IV was crowned and immediately declared war on the Native Americans. He'd had many years to raise the seige weapons necessary for the invasion and all of his forces were poised, ready to strike....

1550-1570 AD 3rd Native American War
The Artonian Armies were on the march to capture the remaining NA cities. Shaka decided to launch an offensive on the city of Fua. The Garrison stationed in Civius (Zululand) came to their aid before the NA Longbows could reach the city.



The war was clear and decisive. We lost a few of our most historic units and a few of our Knights, including Sir Draknith and Sir StormD. In the end all 3 cities were captured and the Native American Empire was Destroyed.




During the war we were able to discover Music, complete the National Epic in Civius
and found the Imperial Sports League....



1575-1585 AD Our World
We now have a map of the entire world after a trade with Darius. He was reluctant to meet with Civius IV but they hit it off. Darius was also able to secure the release of Claude who will ive the rest of his life in Dutch lands.



A GP is expected in Civius in the coming years as a result our adoption of Caste System and construction of the National Epic. Thanks be to the Fuataga for sharing their traditions with the rest of the Empire.



1590 AD Religious Revolution
After the rise of Emperor Civius IV the Empire was at its height. The economy was was stronger than ever and we were finally making up some ground in the technology race. An age of prosperity for the Artonian people was at their feet. A religious leader was making his name in the City of Civius. His name was Juda-Xer son of Xer of Reichkaiser. Some were calling him a Great Prophet and the people of Artonia flocked to him as if he were a god. He announced he wanted to build a temple in Fua, to a Jewish King, named Solomon. It was built in a day and the Jewish followers called it an act of God.



Emperor Civius IV decided he must embrace the Jewish leaders and allow them to sit council with him in the Palace. The Jewish people were irate that the Artonian Empire still held the Heathen religion of Hinduism as its State religion. Civius IV cam before a crowd of hundreds of thousands on the balcony of the Palace. He was to give a speech to quell the religious tension in the Empire. Xer stood behind him, having a strong Jewish leader behind him would give his words a Jewish voice, or so he thought. As he proclaimed the Empire of Artonia would remain a Hindu State the crowd erupted in rage. Then Civius felt the cold metal enter his back, then all he saw was the face of Xer as he fell to his death. Looking over the sea of people Xer proclaimed himself Emperor and Judaism the Artonian State Religion....

I Lord Edward, Head of the House of Huber, do here by declare that the forceful takeover of the throne will not be tolerated. As of this day, the House of Huber official declares war against the rebel forces of Xer! We ask that all houses join us in this historic moment against the tyrany of this usurper!

I proclaim that Nantuck Draknith will accompany myself to lead our glorious armies against the rebels.

I also request that the council of Lords meet in Huber to discuss our plans for reuniting this Empire and end this state of civil war!

We WILL NOT kneel to any Emperor who has gained the right to rule though TREACHERY! "Emperor" Civius IV has dishonoured his Ancestors and brought great SHAME on himself, now his yells of agony follow him to the after life! And anyway who follows him! OOC:Yes Xer is Emperor and awaits word from the houses if he shall be given tribute. Technically he is ruling under the House of Octavia though he is being supported by remnants of Reichkaiser (according to Vandals post). Everyone thought the fugitive Xer was last weeks villain in the RP thread, now he is the Supreme leader of both the most popular religion of the land and Emperor of the most powerful Empire....for the moment ;) .

After great deliberation amongst are Orators and Chieftains - the Family of Fuataga here by declare that all the Cities under our governership; The City of Fua and The City of Fuataga - from this moment on, be INDEPENDENT City States. These two Cities; will boycott any trade with any other Cities {who dare deem themselves loyal to the Xer Emperor} - These two Cities will be made into a State of isolation; no units are to be built, no buildings are to be built, nothing is to be done in these two Cities unless ordered so by me; Lord Pei Fuataga - the Loyal Lord to the true Emperor; Claude.. I hereby declare the Empire in a state of Anarchy and Civil War! The House of Reichkaiser posseses only two living members, Xer I and Adelaide. However, Xer has been challenged for the throne by Adelaide Vahalax. If she is victorious, Salic Law will be abolished and free elections will take place to agree on the rightful Emperor. If Xer suceeds, then this civil war will continue and our natiopn may destroy itself!
 
The House of Octavia wished only to allow the passing of the Emperial house and do not endorse Xer as Emperor. However we do stand firm in our positions undertaken by both Emperor Claude and Emperor Civius IV. Xer should be overthrown and the Houses still have the ability to do so. The House of Octavia will not involve itself in a Civil War nor the Seperatist tones of Fuataga.
 
OOC: Sorry for the double post but I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that Emperor Xer is held to the same rules as any other Emperor. If his popularity from the houses falls below 50% he is technically overthrown and a new Emperor poll will be created.

Xer is from the house of Reichkaiser but he overthrew an Octavian Emperor. Until the tribute matter is sorted out we will not know if there is to be a rebellion. If Xer stands as Emperor then it will be the Houses supporting a Reichkaiser Emperor. If there is a rebellion then we can have a new Rebellion Poll.

The House of Octavia does not support Xer as Emperor and stands by many of the Fuatagas' position. However we wish to keep the matter civil and allow the nobles to work out the mess. We have much blood on our hands and wish not to take part in a bloody civil war, nor do we want to see the Empire shattered by a seperatist uprising. The Caste System was very beneficial to our people and was instituted under Emperor Claude after abolishing the Slavery Act. While Octavia does not agree with the way we converted to Judaism, it is the will of the people of Artonia and greatly benefits ou rproduction.

As far as the turn session went I think it was a good one. I spent hours micro managing every possible aspect. A 10 turn peace treaty was needed to build siege weapons,heal and reorganize the armies. Judaism is a no brainer as all of our cities have it and our friendships with Linc and Church suffered only a miniscule 1-2 point swing. The economy and our research progress were suffering terribly so I had to get the banks up ASAP. Tried to give the best RP I could come up with to go along with it all and go out with a bang. Check, check and check.

- The Family of Fuataga understand the neutrality of the Imperial House. Yes, the Caste System was a great honor to us, by Emperor Claude.. It is a shame that he lives under foreign Kings, in Dutch Lands. Not the treatment that a Emperor deserves might I add. The Empire will not be shattered but re-established; this can only be achieved by a Seperatist revolution - in favor of a Democratic vote by all the Houses in selecting of a new Emperor. The Empire was shattered, the moment Xer murdered Sir Civius.. in cold blood.

In terms of Judaism being the new state Religion - The Family of Fuataga denounce this, as far as to say that it was the adoption of Judaism that Sir Civius used to overthrow his Father; Emperor Claude. And it is Judaism that Xer adheres to, there are even Jews amongst our own Fuataga people {notably amongst the Lana and Naku Castes} - they are free to retain their Jewish beliefs, but they are not free to follow the treachery of Xer. If the Imperial House, wishes the Fuataga to accept Judaism as the State religion, it is our honor to serve the wishes of the Imperial House. However, it does not mean we will like the idea.

Once a NEW Emperor is selected, the Fuataga will re-assimilate themselves into the Artonian Empire. The Fuataga have only taken a Seperatist course as a means of displaying our lack of respect and denouncement for the Xer Dynasty! The Octavian House urges all of the Houses to rebuke the Emperor by not giving tribute. Without the backing of the Houses his reign will be short lived. He controls the religious radicals but the Governors control the cities and without the cities he has no Empire. No need to seperate from the Empire but unite behind the Flag of Artonia.

- The Family of Fuataga of course will support the notion presented by the Imperial House, I would think that the Houses will not give tribute to a fake Emperor. However, Governors are at the mercy of the populance - if there are Jews, there are religious fanatical Jews as well. Since there is Judaism in virtually all our Empries Cities - this is something to be prudent about. We do not declare ourselves; separate from the Artonian Empire, but rather - separate from the Artonian Empire as long as it is under the rule of an illegal Emperor! Our loyalty to the House of Grand Huber and to the Imperial House of Octavia has not wavered at all, we are however - disturbed by the House of Reichkaisers' decisions... that is however, of secondary importance to the overthrow of the Xer Dynasty.

That it is our opinion, let it be respected.
