As these warmongers sometimes will declare on you very early and they have a decent production bonus on you it is safe to say that this would be very dicey. If an AI axe rushes you when you barely have copper hooked up you are dead, deity level player or no.

Edit: there is an open king of the hill thread where the always war option is checked and people are therefore always at war with the AI... No peace ever. I believe some one actually managed a space win when being down to one city, but it required quite a bit of replaying certain bits. All in all I think that none but the very best would beat deity on the setting you suggest, especially since the AI can fill up huge spaces of land in no time, leaving you dwarved, boxed in and soon to be dead.

Best players eh...we can probably count them on two hands! The consistent deity players are amazing...

I may have forgotten some but thinking about it i count 8 players who have posted 3+ deity wins on BTS. So 2 hands but 1 hand is not enough.

Just read the abigcivfan immortal game and yeh that longbowman was impressive. Actually he promoting units were awesome. Really played Brennus traits very well.
