LK151 - WM, where are we?

Sounds like it is time to cash rush settlers. There have to be some cities ready to pop, or already at size 3.

Don't forget some of those temples can be cash rushed. I was rushing temples every turn my last round.

I say yes to the city in Alaska. I don't want to worry about Egyptian culture screwing us up.

Got my turns played.

Tuesday and Wednesday nights are short nights for me this week. I will post my log and notes on Thursday.

Friday night and almost bed time...

0 1295 AD

We have one settler that is still active in a stack. Wake the stack and move to 1N of Salvador.
Clear and set a continental rally point between Rio and Fortaleza.
In New Canton, wake 'Spears No More, a vBef, and send to the capital.
Wake the cBef in Tulia and send to New Canton.

Wave a wand and we have Galleons A, B and C. Effective, but hardly inspiring, names.
Galleons A, B and C sail from Umfolozi into Thomas Olney and unload 11 settlers and 1 vBef.

We build Sarah Palin 1S-2SE of Captain Douglas with a native settler. Start a temple, 30 turns. vBef moves in to defend.

The trade routes to the three Egyptian cities in Alaska now pass through our borders. None of them have a harbor. And it may not matter.
[IBT]
Persia (12) and Babylon (75) sign an MA vs. Sioux (4).
Persia declares WAR on Sioux.

Sioux and China (???) make peace.

Scare off a Russian cavalry at Eliskases (1 of 1).

Beijing riots; hire some clowns.
Captain Douglas: barracks -> vBef in 90.
Pollution at Rio.
Yaroslav'l flips; we lose a cBef.
Chengdu riots; specailize everybody.
Uxia Cambarro: bank -> vCav in 1.
Pollution at Fortaleza.
Wilbur Whately: hospital -> vCav in 4.
River Tam: hospital -> vCav in 2.

Eliskases: barracks -> temple in 30.
It Be Salty: factory -> vCav in 2.

We gain 11 vCavalry, 11 settlers, 3 Galleons and 2 Befs.
We build 9 temples, 1 bank, 2 hospitals and 1 factory.
Three cranky cities: Biejing, Chengu and Ash Tray Can.

1 1300 AD

Tresspassers
In Iceland, a 1/3 Cossack is 1W of Eliskases on a hill.
A vPike is 1NW of Eliskases, in a forest.

Actions
Gather everyone that we can around the capital for a Boy Scout Jamboree.

We have 23 vCav and 37 vBef.
We have 3 eCav and 1 eBef.
We have 3 rBef.
We have 4 cBef.
We have 2 vGuerilla.
We have 94 artillery.
We have 10 trebuchets.
We have a stack of 10 lightly wounded units that can heal by themselves this turn, if we let them.
We have a stackof 12 more seriosly wounded untis that will need a barracks to get well.
We have around 200 slaves with full movement.
We have about 75 slaves with almost full movement.
We have 10 settlers.
We have 14 full size armies, some that need a barracks.

We have already done some forest chops for settlers.

Now it is time to get busy.

In Madagascar we build Peter Jason Quill. We gain some land but do not trap any Chinese units inside our borders.
We chop the forest 1S of our new city and then road it.
Artillery redline a vCav 1N of Cheyene.

Cheyene (1)
Twevlfth Cavalry bulldozes over the 1/4 Cav (2 of 2).
Two eMuskets inflict 3 HPs on this Army (4 of 4).
Nineteenth Cavalry Army stomps vCav flawlessly into the ground (5 of 5).
And Cheyenne becomes ours. The one citizen in Cheyenne, a Sioux, resents their liberation from China. We start a temple anyway.

From Grunfield (not Breyer, which is closer) we ship across 2 workers and 2 vBefs into Peter Jason Quill.
PJQ and Cheyenne are connected.

New Nanking (3) (capital)
Twenty-Second Cavalry Army takes out vRilfe (6 of 6).
eCav retreats from rRilfe (6 of 7)
eCav followup has better luck (7 of 8, 0 of 1e).

New Nanking has new bosses. Has a cranky and gets a taxman and begins a temple.

New Tsingtao (1) (new capital)
eCav retreats from vRifle (7 of 9).
vCav shatters itself on a vMusket, promoting it to eMusket (7 of 10).
vCav retreats from this Chinese D'Artagnan (7 of 11).
Another vCav does the same (7 of 12). And D'Artagnan-san is still unscratched.
Well, the city is on a hill.
Thirteenth Cavalry Army (11/13) ends the charmed life of D'Artagnan-san (8 of 13).
Thirteenth Cavalry Army (11/13 still!) tramples the wounded vRifle (9 of 14).
vCav meets vCav and our vCav wins and promotes (10 of 15).
vCav meets another vCav and again we win (11 of 16).

New Tsingtao changes hands. We gain 1 gold instead of 1 resister.

We road from Peter Jason Quill to New Tsingtao.

Ponca (1) (newer capital)
Fourteenth Cavlary Army (10/14) runs over vRifle without taking damage (12 of 17).
rMusket draws some blood from the FOurtheenth but not much (13 of 18).

Ponca is permitted to live, since we got 3 gold, despite the one resister.

The trade embargo on us by China and India ends.

Good News

And China is gone.

Twelve land units in Madagascar disappear, as does several stacks of ships by Orlando.

Ship back home Thirteenth and Nineteenth Cavalry Armies and send them straightway to Alaska.

Yaroslavl' (7)
Second Cavalry watches as we attempt to promote vCav to eCavs on the rRifle defending.
First vCav gets slaughtered (13 of 19).
Second vCav retreats (13 of 20).
Third VCav redlines the Rifle and then dies (13 of 21).
Fourth vCav retreats (13 of 22).
Blast! I forgot we had artillery!
Redline that lucky 2/4 Rifle, with gusto.
Fifth vCav starts their attack....

And Yaroslavl' is liberated from itself (14 of 23). We gain 1 gold and five resisters. We start a settler.
We move our 12 more seriously wounded units from last turn into Yaroslavl to quell the resistance and heal from the barracks.
We also move in those wounded in taking the city.

In Iceland, our armies, one redlined (1/13) and the other yellowed (5/13), need to heal.
We do redline the Pike with artillery.

Ship 8 slaves to Alaska, to rail every tile we have over there while we send units across.

Shipping recap:
Galleons A, B, C and D: Sailed Thomas Olney (Alaska) -> Umfolozi (Siberia).
Galleons E, F, G and H: Sailed Umfolozi (Siberia) -> Thomas Olney (Alaska). Eight slaves and two Armies.

Chop 3 forests to rush a settler from Yaroslavl'.

In China's South Africa, we put in MPs to shut up the Chinese rebels.

Actions
Egypt bought steel from Babylon.
No new pollution this turn.

Pskov (4) (capital)
Elventh Army leads the way, thrashing an rRifle (20 of 30).
Sixteeth Army is allowed to join the fun, playing lethal paddywack with a second rRifle (21 of 31).

Pskov is taken, its 9 gold added to our treasury and razed. They were no survivors.
There was also no closure. Russia does not die.

And Egypt still has two Knights in the Aztec island, along with the Russian stack of Pikes, so we cannot invade Aztecdom.

Well, fiddle. This does not help us any.

We can, and will, stamp out Russian resistance over the next few turns. We have enough units to do that and prevent the city from flippping. Then we rush settlers/workers and get the city size down to one or so.

Might do the same to the Aztec resisters, too. We will see.

In Russian cities without resistance we rush settlers. In Russian cities with rsistance rush workers by disbanding some of the Chinese trebuchets in the museums around the capital.

Twenty-Third Cavalry Army is loaded with 3 vCavs and stationed in West Africa, to take on the Aztecs.

Ship 36 foreign artillery to Alaska.

We put a few Bef in Sarah Palin to reduce the flip risk to zero.

Babylon knows Refining. And, in looking back, they learned Steel in the 1300 IBT. We have nothing to trade for Refining.

In Alaska, Babylon has moved 115 units from New Eulbar westwards towards Richmond. They are currently 2N-1NE of Captain Douglas, on an unimproved tundra tile.

Trespassers
None, yet.

Actions
In Alaska, we rail the last two forests on the Babylonian border. We wake our Armies and they go on border patrol facing east, into Canada.

We have 2 e*Cavs near the captial.

Both places we can land our armies at Kostroma are blocked by Russian units.

We sign an ROP with Argentina. All four of their cities are in Greenland.
We land Elventh and Sixteenth Armies in Argentina.

Ship across 19 vBef, 4 e*Bef, 11 vCav and 2 e*Cav to Alaska.

In Alaska, Next Army becomes Twenty-Fourth Cavalry Army and both e*Cavs are loaded into it.
This Army and the Befs go on border patrol close to Richmond.

I don't think that Babylon will attack but I'm not taking chances, either.

Except for our 4 unit armies and the troops to take out the Aztecs, 90% of our Cavalry and Bef are in Alaska.

Workers
Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

Persia wants to chat. Wants to swap World Maps. I'm not too keen on the idea but until we attack Babylon, I don't want any distractions. And we may need their help later. So we agree.

The trade embargo on us by Egypt (33) and Sioux (2) is over.
Aztecs (1) and Argentina (4) make peace.

Dr. Jeremy Franklin: factory -> rBef in 5.
New Zimbabwe: walls -> vBef in 90.

10 1345 AD

Babylon did not attack, which is good. And I thought the Sioux were going to be destroyed when I saw that their trade embargo was over.

Trespassers
None at the moment.

In Alaska, the main Babylonian stack is 3N of Captain Douglas. The stack moved 1NW instead of going 1W; both have the same distance to Richmond. 114 of the 115 units moved here.
In their old tile are 3 Guerillas, 6 Infantry and 1 worker.

Actions

Kostroma (1) (capital)
When we landed we face the better defended tile, with four units. To get to the lesser defended tile, with two units, we would have had to move into a tundra forest. But for some reason, the unit allocations were changed and now the tile next to us has only two units, a Rilfe and a Longbow.

Eleventh Cavalry leads off again. Longbow draws some blood but it doesn't help the rRifle (23 of 33).
Sixteenth Calalry smothers the Longbow (24 of 34).
Sixteenth fells the vRifle defending the capital, but drops to 3/13 (25 of 35).
Sixteenth retreats into Argentina, to heal.
Eleventh Cavalry moves to 1W of Kostroma, forest, and stops. No way the capital has only two defenders. This may take several turns to wear these guys down.
Fortify Eleventh Cavlary.

Workers
Parked some by the capital.

I am sorry for the delay. We had unexpected guests with a computer problem on Thursday. Friday was our 33rd wedding anniversary, so we went to a movie. We had already exchanged presents (I got her the board game Forbidden Desert; she got me some books on woodworking) so this was a treat for us.

The game is not at the End-Of-The-Turn. More on that later.

China is gone.
Russia is not, nor is Aztecdom.

Russia had a houseboat. It landed not too far from where it left and now we have two Armies wearing it down.

We got an ROP with Argentina so we could do this.

Babylon demanded Incense a few turns back. We gave in since we were still building up our forces in Alaska. That deal has 14 turns to go.

Alaska

Three North of Captain Douglas is stack of over 100 Infantry and Guerillas. It looks like they are heading towards Richmond but we must be their real objective.

That stack of units is why the turn is not done yet.

Our own military in Alaska is:

  • Eleven Cavalry Armies (all four units strong)
  • Fifty-six Befs are in the field, mostly veterans, but a few Elites and Elite* in the mix, too.
  • Ninety-five Cavs, all open field, mostly vets but a few Elites.
  • Thirty-six artillery.
  • One Guerilla, an Elite.
  • Fourteen slaves and five native workers. One tile is not railed, the mountain 1W-1SW of Sarah Palin.
  • Twenty settlers
In Sarah Palin are seven more Befs to keep it from flipping.

Also, our ship chain has not been used this turn. We can ship across 36 units.

Back home, around the capital we have:
  • One empty Army
  • Three vBef
  • Twelve vCavalry
  • Fifty artillery
  • Two vGuerilla and 1 e*Guerilla.
  • Eighty-three slaves and five native workers
  • Sixteen settlers

what we ship across depends on what we expect Babylon to do. And on what we want to do to Babylon, like trap and kill that stack of Infantry.

An Idea
If we were to place a city 1N-1NE of Captain Douglas, on a forest tile. we would put eleven Babylonian units inside our borders, but not the big stack. If we then gave Babylon a Boot-Or-War option, they might declare war on us. In turn, they would be the ones breaking our Incense deal, not us. Our trade rep would still be good.

With the 36 artillery arlready in Alaska, plus however many more we shipped across (our ship chain has not been used yet), we could ping those units, which might send them back into safer ground to heal. We could then begin to ping the big stack, which is on bare tundra. On the IBT, their good units would move 1S into the tundra tile 2N of Captain Douglas, since it is the only tile of ours they could move into, and where we would want them to move to. Our army currently in that tile would need to move to allow them to move in. On our turn, we could ship across more artillery and damage even more units before we begin to attack this stack.

We have a stack of 30 vBefs outside of Sarah Palin. These could be used to defend our new city. We could fill their spot with the empty army we just built or the army 2N of Captain Douglas.

Now, if we had an MPP with Egypt before we did any of this, would the MPP be triggered when Babylon declared war, since their units were inside our border? If the MPP did trigger, Richmond and New Euibar will be isolated from land reinforcements by Egypt for at least a turn or two. That would give us that much more time to eliminate these strong defenders in terrain that does not have a defensive bonus and where it will be harder for them to fortify.

Our military is still weak compard to Babylon and that bothers/worries me too with this situation.

And that is my desire for all of this: demolish good defensive units on bad defensive terrain before they can attack us by moving into good defensive terrain. My fear is that they move into Richmond and then attack Timbuktu by moving 1N of Timbuktu into a forest tile. Then we have a real problem defending the city and protecting our supply line to the mainland.

That is what I want to do. I am not at all sure that it is the best thing for us to do.

But since the turn is not over, we do have options on what to do.

It is an interesting tactical problem but how does it fit into our overall strategy?

Russia

This is the current Russian situation. An rRifle gutted Sixteenth Cavalry, so we did not risk an attack by Elventh Cavalry. With just one move, if it had the same bad luck as the Sixteenth, it would not have been able to retreat. It will be a long war, since it appears we will be limited to picking off one Rifle a turn. But once the Rifles are gone...no more Russia.

We have an ROP with Argentina.

The plan had been, once Russia was gone, to ship these Armies to Alaska. We can still do that, or ship some Cavalry to Greenland, add them to the armies and then pillage Babylonian holding in Greenland (seven cities and one source of Rubber).

Iceland

Three Russian Frigates and one Galleon are on the southwest coast of Iceland. They could be planning to invade Iceland or maybe some place in Europe. Iceland is lighlty defended, one Bef per city. It has six artillery and we have been taking pot shots at the Russian convoy.

Aztecdom

Our borders have expanded enough so that can always see the three last land tiles of the Aztecs. But until Russia is dead, we cannot invade. We have one army and four vCavs parked in the desert here, ready to invade. We will not need to ship across any artillery, since we can reach the Aztec capital from where we are in North Africa.

Madagascar

Behold the ruins of China.

We have 12 workers here and their main work (roads, rails and water) is about done. The Frigates are placed because I got nervous seeing a lot of Indonesian ships going by and knowing that they have an MPP with Babylon.

Trading
I missed the chance to sell Steel to Babylon. Babylon and Egypt know Refining and Steel, so they are both learning Combustion at the moment. We need them at war with each other.

Random Stuff
Babylon has an MPP with Indonesia, but we have plenty of armies to deal with anything they might drop off on the mainland. We can quickly reinforce Japan, the islands of Indonesia and the Phillipines. Harrwitz and Osage are rather exposed, howwever, but can be reinforced in one turn with some fancy ship-chaining. This is the only MPP in play at the moment.

We built Sarah Palin in Alaska, which has given us a secure southern front line in Alaska. The city has a temple, library and barracks. It has extra defenders to prevent it from flipping.

We founded Peter Jason Quill in Madagascar before we purged the Chinese.

We began Oogha-Chaka and Oogha-Oogha in Iceland after we kicked the Russians out.

In Europe and Asia we planted Drax, Gamora, Rocekt Racccoon, Groot and Hooked On A Feeling.

After China was gone we snuck in Blue Swede in Madagascar.

On the mainland we then placed Spirit In The Sky, They Call Themselves..., I'm Starlord, Man and A Planet of Outlaws.

In Africa we start What A Bunch Of A-Holes.

Spoiler :

I just loved this trailer:

Link to video.

And without this specific trailer I would have had no desire to see the movie. The trailer was that good.

With the trailer: Wow!
Without the trailer: Who?

(Okay, I loved the song when I was younger, too! Oogah-chaka!)

We now have 55% of the world's area, up from 49%. We still only have 48% of the world's population.

We have 20 cities ready to expand our borders next turn. That should claim us more land in Africa but we still may need some desert cities to fill in the gaps.

In Europe/Asia we have a block of four tiles we need to own, near Smolensk and Novgorod.

South of the euqator in Africa we have almost all the grasses and half the plains roaded, railed and watered. North of the equator we also have many desert tiles railed and watered but not all. We gained a lot of roaded tiles in Africa from the recent culture expansion this last turn.

We are working on railing and watering all the grasses in Europe and western Asia.

We had pollution almost every turn, so I keep some workers parked near the capital so that I can deal with those tiles quickly at the start of the turn.

On this last turn I have cash rushed some foreign settlers and workers, to reduce flipping risks.

Contiental rally point is on the tobacco north of Rio.

If it were not for the Alaskan situtation, this would be a very easy handoff.

That, yes, I love Civ3

How about we make an ROP with Babylon and attack south America? This would work if either Babylon has rails (likely) or if we can rail in their land (does ROP allow it?) - though if Babylon is moving on us that wouldn't work well. Will a ROP and Mil Alliance stop their attack?
\

We have limited Armies without Combustion.

An alternative is to steal refining and then combustion when available.

Good work on the buildup. :goodjob:

How about we make an ROP with Babylon and attack south America?

I may be missing some nuances, since I can't look at the save, but this sounds like the strategy that would end the game in the fewest turns. We would need to buy Babylon's TM to get an up-to-date view of their lands, and if we see that we can occupy with workers (so that random Babylonian moves can't inconvenience us) an unbroken line of rail tiles to Babylon's southern border, the rest should be simple. The unavailability of our four-unit armies won't matter against any enemy except Babylon.

Of course, if we prefer to win in the straightforward way by fighting our only remaining serious rivals rather than working around them, that's fine too.

The problem with an attack into South America is the Central America choke point. One unit in the wrong spot, and we can't get to SA.

The South America via RoP is a dead idea. One city makes it impossible:

We went the route vs. Mr Popular of Babylon.
Still awhile before I will have a set ready.

With 55.1% pop, this one is close to over. I'll be looking for temple rushes to help get those last few percentage points.

The new troop staging zone will be the edge of Siberia. At this point almost all troops will be shuttling to Alaska.
One thing I don't like is lack of frigates. If Babylon breaks the Siberia - Alaska connect we have major headaches.

I don't like cash in AI hands, so I ship Argentina printing press for $128 and $5/T.

The last thing I want is a war with Indonesia, as we would have to waste too much time defending those islands. They get silks and dyes for a MPP.
The price is absurd, but I give Egypt $295/T for an MPP. Babylon will be tough enough. Fighting both power AI civs on a foreign continent will be too much.
I attempt an immediate steal from Babylon, and we get a war. I want them to trip the MPP, so I take no action at all.
I move our cavalry army back one, and put a sacrificial cavalry next to the big stack. I want Indonesia to enter the war on OUR side, not with Babylon.
(IT) Egypt and Babylon embargo us. This embargo last a whole 30 seconds.
Egypt and Indonesia declares war on Babylon. It didn't even happen with the sacrifice cavalry. Instead it was my fear, and one of the frigates was attacked by Alaska.
The meaningless alliances continue, as Russia allies with Egypt vs. Babylon. Persia joins Egypt vs. Babylon.
The loss of gems does cause problems in some of our crap cities.
We suffer a flip in Tepetlaoxtoc.
Egypt declares war on Russia and the Aztecs. AI silliness continues. This drags Indonesia into more silly wars.

1350 AD (1)
I send Indonesia corporation to get ivory and $15/T.

I kill 3 Russia rifles, leaving a pike exposed. However, the army is to weak so I am forced to retreat.

When you have a bunch of trapped 4 unit armies, it is easy to get Tepetlaoxtoc back.
Fills an annoying spot, 05 FILLER, FILLLER REDEFINES, FILLER PIC X(30) are founded.
[end of session 1]

I wipe 4 stray infantry, but no luck leader fishing.
With our military "weak", I just bombard the mega-stack as much as possible, hoping it will split apart next turn and I can start to pick on smaller stacks. The initial part of this war is unit bleeding against Babylon.

I'm not sure if Battlefield Medicine is worth it at this point, but at only six turns I start it in Belo Horizonte.
(IT) France and the Sioux get friendly. Babylon and the Sioux get friendly.
We get hit with multiple rounds of pollution this round.

1355 AD (2)
That Babylon town in England is annoying. I killed one of the two infantry, but the town holds this round.
The AI pillage obsession lets us kill 2 Babylon units. We kill 2 stray cavalry, and a stray infantry.
I knock 3 off the injured stack with armies, but with all going yellow I don't want to send a whole lot after that stack in the forest.
(IT) France allies with Babylon against us.
Babylon takes Russia out of the game.
I want what Peron has been smoking. They want us to pay them $519 for an MPP.

1360 AD (3)
Babylon has been chased out of England after I razed Teq... for $20 and some workers.
Dark Side of the Moon is founded.
Babylon troops are starting to split apart now. I kill a stray cavalry. I kill a stray infantry. I kill 2 rifles with 1 guerilla.
I kill 8 cavalry via armies.
I wipe a stack of 11 1 HP infantry on tundra and get bad luck losing 2 elite and 1 vet cavalry.
I wipe a stack of 1 infantry and 15 guerillas at the cost of 1 cavalry while getting some elite promotions.
[end of session 2]
I wipe a bowman and musket stack.
We try to steal again, and we now have refining.
(IT) Indonesia and the Sioux get friendly. A pity, since Indonesia probably could take out that last island.
It is another meaningless alliance - France and Egypt vs. Babylon. They then pair up vs. the Aztecs.
We get another flip to the Aztecs - Tula.

1365 AD (4)
PERFORM FILL-SPOT is founded.
Tula is recovered. Cavalry army vs. spears is a joke.
I kill a stack of 5 guerillas and 1 infantry losing an elite BEF. Revenge of Bef arrives right afterwards giving me my first leader of the round.
I kill a stack of 8 guerillas losing a reg BEF. Guerilla smashing Cavalry arrives.
I commit my first offensive in America taking out Richmond in Alaska. 3 infantry and 1 cavalry die. I hate cities behind the lines. Comfortably Numb replaces it.
A stray infantry is toasted.
I couldn't get the stack to 1 HP units, so I use armies to knock out 9 infantry from the stack.
We still have 3 stacks in our territory, but the attrition rate has been in our favor.
What is insane is that Babylon has 454 infantry built. It will take a long time to not be weak vs. them. Knocking more cities off will make a big difference. We need to kill their production power.

[end of session 3]
A stack of 7 infantry and 1 guerilla is wiped at no cost.
(IT) The stupid alliances continue with France and Persia vs. Aztecs.
Several new Babylon stacks cross our borders. A gap I missed lets them kill 3 cavalry. This won't exist next turn, as settler already crossed there border that will shut this path down.

1370 AD (5)
We finally land on the Aztec island. It is the wrong spot since Egypt is between us, and the city. However, I don't want another nation showing up.

A lone cavalry is killed. A stack of 2 cavalry are killed.
Don't need no education is founded in Alaska.
I wipe a stack of 17 cavalry with armies. I would rather have the armies hitting Babylon cities, but we are getting overloaded with stacks.
I kill 3 infantry and 1 guerilla, but lost an elite BEF.
We kill 6 infantry, 1 musket and 1 sword losing 2 cavalry. A wimpy cavalry retreated from the 1 HP sword. We did get one promotion to elite. Lack of armies is painful.
I army assault New Eulbar. The first dead infantry is scary as it redlined a 100% health army. The next army easily kills 2 infantry. The next army razed it gaining $32 and some workers.
Money is founded.
I wipe a stack of 1 bowman, 4 MDI, 3 muskets, 1 pike and 3 rifles losing 1 cavalry. Another was promoted to elite.

What is insane is we have another stack that crossed our borders that is so large you have to scroll to see what is in it.

I'm reviewing our cities upping the production of artillery. I have a ton of cavalry I can't use as I won't attack full health infantry with cavalry.

This is a half way report. I’m still working on it, seeing how far I can get in the next few days.

The South America via RoP is a dead idea. One city makes it impossible:

I would think it just means we would fight Egypt on our way to South America. However, Babylon is easier is many ways so I am fine with that once we get past their initial rush.

As for mechs, if they had that then we would have transports and the ability to steal to Tanks and Tank Armies, so we would be better off rather than worse.

With refining out I am hoping we can get Transports soon and move the rest of the armies across.

1375 AD (6)
I wipe a stack of 10 cavalry mainly with armies.
I kill a stack of 10 guerillas and 9 infantry. During this battle 1375 Guerilla Killing Cavalry arrives giving us another army.
What is left of our artillery start bombing the one of the two absurd stacks. I hope to split this, like I did the last one and slowly chew it up.
Mendes (Babylon captured from Egypt) is temp captured. Brick in the Wall is formed nearby.
I get rid of 2 infantry with an army attack.

ARGGGGHHHH - I just found I missed a stack of 20 artillery by Rio. :wallbash: :wallbash:

(IT) India and Babylon embargo us. India allies with Babylon vs. Egypt.
Persia and India ally vs. Egypt. I suspect Egypt is going to get torn in to many directions, weakening there value as a ally.
We are sucked into a war with India due to the MPP. This could become a pain with the number of Indian ships I've seen floating around.
This is getting totally insane. Another stack to large to see without scrolling crosses our borders by Money. That is 3 insane stacks in our territory.

1380 AD (7)
We kill an Aztec longbow that landed in England.
The force that tried to take out Russia makes it to northern England. From there we rail to the south, load some ships, and get to Alaska. I'm very happy to get two more armies to Alaska.
New Uruk is razed destroying 5 infantry and a guerilla. We got another army redline scare. I'm glad I sent 3 armies toward the city.
You Crazy Diamond is founded, and we have a permanent source of gems.
A stack of 14 cavalry is wiped out by armies.
I have a disaster killing 2 guerilla and 1 infantry losing 3 cavalry despite dropping them to 1 HP.
I kill a stack of 6 infantry.
[end of session 4]
I raze New Babylon killing 3 infantry in the process. The second army got pretty beat. I was glad to find an artillery piece inside the city.
I bomb the crap out of one of the big stacks hoping to get the damaged units to split apart.
(IT) Babylon rebuilds New Babylon slightly south of the original spot.
Indonesia declares war on India.
Argentina and Egypt ally versus Indonesia. I really doubt Argentina will add anything useful to that fight.
France and Egypt ally vs. India. This one will actually result in some fighting in South America.
France and Egypt ally vs. Persia. South America is getting crazy now.
Egypt kills 2 cavalry in our territory. First time I've seen any sign of them.
We complete Battlefield Medicine.

1385 AD (8)
New Babylon (again) is auto-razed. Learning to Fly is founded.
A stack of 5 cavalry are destroyed. No luck leader fishing the 1 HP unit left by Egypt.
I kill another longbow that landed in England.
A stray infantry is toasted.
We destroy a stack of 13 infantry, 2 MDI, 1 musket and 1 rifle losing 1 elite cavalry and 4 vet cavalry. That loss ratio was horrid.
We need more than a 2 to 1 kill ration to beat the strongest AI civ in the game. It would be major trouble if this was happening on a regular basis.
A stack of 32 infantry, 6 rifles, 1 MDI and 4 guerrillas is destroyed costing us 11 cavalry. We did at least get 3 promotions to elite from the battle.

We steal combustion from Babylon.
Sadly, Egypt has no GPT to give us for it.

I burn a ton of cash, at we now have transports to bring our 4 unit armies to Alaska next turn.

We are in better shape, as I now only see two insane stacks inside our borders.
I can't believe we are now average vs. Babylon in military.
[end of session 5]
(IT) The OCC civs of Aztecs and Sioux make peace.
Babylon seems confused. They retreat away from Sarah Palin, but move along the coast by money. I wonder if Egypt is helping that.
We get landings in the pacific islands and Madagascar.

1390 AD (9)
I kill a Babylon guerilla and rifle that landed on Madagascar.
I can't do anything about the troops by Kiowa, except to be happy for the transport upgrade. I got more troops into the city.
A stack of 9 cavalry is wiped by armies.
I wipe a stack of 3 guerillas. Guerilla Killing Guerilla arrives during that battle adding to the army count.
I kill a stack of 1 bowman, 5 guerilla, 11 infantry, 1 MDI, and 2 muskets losing an elite cavalry again the bowman.
An army wipes a infantry off the gold hill, and captures a bucket.
It takes 2 armies, but I wipe a stack of 3 infantry on a mountain.
I wipe a stack of 7 guerillas, 10 infantry, 3 MDI, 2 muskets and 1 spear. I lost 4 cavalry attacking a 2 HP musket, 1 HP guerilla, 2 HP guerilla, and a healthy MDI. Silly me, expecting healthy, attack six to beat far weaker units.
I can't use armies in every attack.
An army wipes a stray infantry on the forest.
2 armies kill 3 infantry razing Buhen.
2 armies kill 2 infantry razing Dortmund.
Wish You Were Here is founded.
I wipe a stack of 4 infantry.
I wipe a stack of 2 infantry.
[end of session 6]
(IT) UGGG++++++
Egypt and Aztecs make peace. That could mean those troops sit there for the rest of the game.
Our wonderfully ally of Egypt signs and embargo against us with the Sioux.

1395 AD (10)
Babylon can't take the hint. One again we raze New Babylon killing 1 infantry.
See Emily Play is founded.
I kill a stray infantry.
I kill a cavalry in a stack, and get a redline scare with an army. I kill another cavalry in the stack with an army going back to heal. The next army kills the last 2 cavalry in that stack.
I kill a stray cavalry from Babylon that was injured fighting Egypt.
I kill a stack of 17 infantry and 3 guerilla on the gold hill. We get a red-line scare; lose 2 elite cavalry to 1 HP guerillas and a vet cavalry to a 1 HP musket. Golden Bef arrives giving us another army. I hate the RNG Cavalry arrives giving us another army.
I kill a stack of 4 cavalry.
He Keeps Hanging Up is formed.
I kill a stack of 17 infantry and 2 guerillas in a forest. A full health army gives a red-line scare on the first attack.
[end of session 7]

Summary:
All of the stray ships moving around are working toward Alaska. This could take a while for some of them.
The workers are by the shipping lanes, as we are now moving forward and there are too many gaps in the rail net. Plus, Babylon has been pillaging out of us almost every round.

I was hoping to leave Alaska Babylon free, but I’ve been overloaded with attacks. I have at least nibbled down a lot of those stacks.
