Mod Request: Space!

Is it at all possible that some of the better modders out there may be able to pool their skills and make a space mod, something somewhat similar to Civ IV's Final Frontier in nature? I understand that that would be incredibly difficult, but I honestly think it could be worth it. Anyone agree/interested?

I actually quite agree and have started writing the draft to a design doc to make Space Frontiers 2. I have a few ideas for improvements and am very open for discussion.
