New to Colonization

The game will not let me make any new settlements the create settlement button is conspicuously absent. They look like good areas with food and water, tiles separating from current settlement have traveled far into the continent to establish new settlements to no avail. My settlers are starving and need to branch out to increase food production and trade routes.

You didn't select One-City Challenge at the start did you?

I set up a game and selected one AI opponent. That might have put it into one city challenge. Hmmm not sure I guess I must've. I had played the initial tutorial several times and had made numerous cities. Was going to try a new Strategy and build one settlement up then expand. Thanks, I will start again with the normal scenario and see how it goes. I really want to learn this game so that I may join in the multiplayer without being a dolt. Thanks again.
