[NOT BUG] Using gold to buy territory does not seem to work

There is an option in the city panel to buy more land.
You click on that option, and eligible land is displayed, along with the cost of adding it to your city. I have plenty of gold, put nothing happens when I click on the tile I want to purchase.

Is this a bug?
Or, am I missing something on how to buy another tile?

I had the same problem. The solution is to click on the "cost icon", not the tile.

Thank you Petek, the cost icon did the trick. I had read the manual, the guide, and civilopedia to no avail.
