From da Gurubashi

OOC: Orders incoming

OOC: Do level 1 Gryphon heroes come with Gryphons? Their cost is the same so if yes I don't think any dwarf will ever buy regular Gryphons unless they have more money than they know how to use (in which case, give it to me). :)

I would think of it like this, with Gryphons, you have to train them for combat. With the Gryphon heroes, they are already ready.

The heroes come with gryphons at level 1, sorry for the delay on the update but I have been working over time every night this week and have been so drained. If you ahven't gotten orders in I'll still accept them, but no order revisions.

Wars of Warcraft: Month 20

Quel'Thalas Cast Scrying Spell - The High Elves of Quel'thalas have begun casting a scrying spell this month to observe their enemies in the Amani Empire. So far the spell have been very successful in granting the elves vision of their enemies movements, but the forests still are not completely revealed to them. With the unseen regions of the Amani lands the elves have yet to launch a major assault, relying on more scouting from the zepplines they recieved from the goblins and small skirmishes, led by the Windrunner sisters. The scouting runs have proven fruitful as they have mapped out almost the entire Amani Forest and have sent the intel back to their leaders in Quel'thalas to distribute amongst the forces.

War Continues in the North - With their recon and magic the High Elves of Quel'thalas deemed it worthy enough to launch a large attack upon their troll enemies this month. The attack took place in the later half of the month once their recon trips had been completed. Although, even with their great intel, the attack failed. If it had not been for the greatness revealed within a single troll the attack would have been a tremendous success. A new shaman arose within the Amani ranks and his name is Malacrass. He showed greatness in weilding the elements while battling off the oncoming Windrunner forces. Nature seemed to bend to his will around him and the elves who fought hard, but stood no chance against the powerful shaman. Malacrass turned his attention to the sisters who led the raiding party and sent powerful gusts of wind at the rangers, causing their bolts to miss him almost every shot. Eventually they gave up on their ranged weapons and attempted to engage the shaman in melee combat, but Malacrass proved his worth in that situation as well. He called upon the earth to shield him and called upon fire for him to wield. The fighting concluded when Malacrass landed a crippling blow upon one of the sisters, causing the elves to call in a retreat as they looked to regroup with the rest of the Quel'thalas army.
(Amani Tribe: -10 warriors, -4 axe-throwers, -1 berserker. + Malacrass level 1 shaman.
Quel'thalas: -12 warriors, -5 rangers. -1 level Alleria Windrunner.)

Fungi Arrives in the North - A deal has been struck between the elves of Quel'thalas and the gnomes as the gnomes have sent their fungi to Quel'thalas. While this wont solve the elves lumber problems, if they believe they have any, it will add a nice little boost to their numbers. Over the years, as the fungi adjusts to it's new northern climate, it may begin to yield more usable fungi, but until then it will be almost unnoticable.
(Quel'thalas: +5 lumber per turn.)

Northern Alliance Continue War - After their great victory last month over the Vilebranch trolls the Northern Alliance, consisting of the Wildhammer Clan, Stromgarde and Stormwind, continued to press their troll rivals. With the Vilebranch on the verge of extinction they resorted to something terrifying. When their enemies gathered within the troll's former capital of Jintha'alor, the trolls summoned a great and powerful spell. A loud clapping boom sounded above Jintha'alor and the dwarves and humans all looked up in terror. To their disbelief the trolls had summoned a great rock slide that would destroy their sacred city and bury their enemies. Once the dwarves and humans realized what was going on they scrambled to escape the oncoming earth, but as they hurried for the exit of the city the troll army arrived and their shaman cast a spell causing the walls of Jintha'alor to crumble. With Akil'zon soaring high in the sky and swooping down to pick off any who were separated from the main group, and the troll army engaging a small group that had escaped the rock slide it seemed all was lost for the Northern Alliance. Until the gryphon riders of the Wildhammer Clan arrived and turned the tide. Unfortunatly the damage had been done and the trolls retreated in time to save the majority of their forces. This major victory has given the Vilebranch tribe more time to recover and press back against their enemies in the north.
(Lordaeron: 80 warriors, -15 archers, -25 knights, -16 clerics.
Stromgarde: -15 warriors, -10 archers.
Vilebranch: -8 warriors, -5 axe-throwers, -2 shaman. +1 level Akil'zon, Retherokk and Mai'jin.
Wildhammer: -25 warriors, -5 riflemen.)

Horde Presses Northward - After the victory at Fort Bazjak last month the Horde has regrouped and continued it's march north. During their march they ran across a few remaining Bronzebeard dwarf soldiers and easily cut them down. As they passed the Loch Doomhammer ordered a couple of the clans to remain behind and keep an eye on the Bronzebeards as the others continued north and scouted ahead. Learning of the pass between Loch Modan and the Modan Highlands has caused the Horde to pause. Doomhammer and Gul'dan have began discussions on what to do with the Horde upon discovering the new land, while still wanting to press northward.
(Bronzebeard Clan: -2 warriors, -1 rifleman.)

Thorium Brotherhood Strike Lightning's Blade Clan - After months of pestering the orc clan, the Brotherhood has finally launched a full out strike. With the capture of Chom'gar, a fierce ogre champion, the Lightning's Blade Clan was very vulnerable. Thanks to the dwarves night raids the previous few months the orcs hadn't gotten much sleep as they feared another night strike, this allowed the dwarves to lead a full out strike against their enemies who met them on the battlefield. The battle ended quickly as Grothmag focused in on Zarantu, the orc warrior leader of the clan, and winged him with a shot while his boar charged the orc. Upon witnessing their leader suffer a gruesome wound the rest of the clan shattered as another orc, angered by his leaders weakness, stuck Zarantu through the chest with his axe which caused the remaining orcs to fight amongst each other allowing the dwarves to easily defeat their foes.
(Thorium Brotherhood: -20 warriors, -12 riflemen. +2 Catapults, +1 level Grothmag and Lokhtos Darkbargainer.
Lightning's Blade Clan: Defeated.)

Thorium Brotherhood and Dark Irons Expand - With the fall of the looming orcish threat presented by the Lightning's Blade Clan, the dwarf clans of the Searing Gorge have begun expanding. The Brotherhood has continued it's eastern expansion, reclaiming their lost lands due to their battles with the Horde, while the Dark Irons have exited their mountain fortress to claim lands to their south. The Burning Steppes have been unclaimed for many months and the fortunes are now claimed for the Dark Irons who may become relevant after almost facing utter destruction just months ago.

Stormwind Continues Growth - While there hasn't been much going on in the Modan Highlands since the defeat of the trolls, the Stormwind inhabitants have slowly began to grow even more. Even though they still have much farther to go if they wish to see their homelands reclaimed, this minor growth is a step in the right direction. The people of Stormwind have been very happy to see the growth and seemingly have had a boost in their moral as they continue to work hard each day to restore their great nation to power.
(Stormwind: +10 lumber per turn.)

Redridge Brotherhood Builds - After just appearing the previous month the Redridge Brotherhood has begun to build up it's defenses in an attempt to prepare for the innevitable retaliation from the orcs to the west. They have constructed multiple obsticles along the small choke points leading into their claimed lands, this will not only allow them to defend easier but be able to inflict more casualties with the little amount of forces they currently have. The Brotherhood has invested a lot of their current wood supplies to build these defenses as the hope to hold out until some aid can reach them.

Reinforcements Arrive - Dalaran and Stormwind have sent reinforcements to help bulk up the Redridge Brotherhood who came to power last month. With these added reinforcements, over one-hundred troops sent to bolster the resistance forces, the Brotherhood has set it's sights on the lumbermill to the east of Lake Everstill. However, they realize if they were to press so far out they would lose their strongest choke point against an attack. So instead of claiming the lumbermill for themselves they have raided it, stealing away with as much of the lumber as they could and hoping to cripple the Frostwolves even more.
(Frostwolf Clan: -5 warriors. -50 lumber, -50 gold next turn.
Redridge Brotherhood: -2 warriors, -1 archer. +50 lumber, +50 gold next turn.)

Battle For Jaguero - After the Skullsplitter tribe successfully claimed the Darkspear home land as their own, the Gurubashi tribe and Darkspears launched a counter attack. The attacking forces came from both the north and south sides of the isolated island city. While the Darkspears treaded upon the water, the Gurubashi used a few ships from their impressive navy. Both forces arrived about the same time, not allowing for the Skullsplitters to have much of a chance. Although the Skullsplitters fought valiantly, they eventually would fall to the overpowering forces that remained persistant even through what seemed to be intial failure. Once the Skullsplitters successfully defended the island in the begining of the month the Darkspears decided to conjure up the elements to battle their adversaries. Sen'jin, along with his fellow shaman, conjured up a massive hurricane that smashed into the island and scattered the Skullsplitter forces. They quickly followed the massive strike with their troops and dispatched the Skullsplitters with ease, then sent their corpses floating back toward the mainland of Stranglethorn for the rest of the Skullsplitter tribe to see.
(Darkspear: -5 warriors, -5 axe-throwers, -4 shaman. +1 level both heroes.
Gurubashi: -10 warriors, -3 axe-throwers, -1 berserker, -2 Destroyers.
Skullsplitter: -10 warriors, -5 berserkers. -Jaguero.)

Battle For Stranglethorn Vale - The war between the Gurubashi and the Skullsplitter tribes raged on again this month. While the Gurubashi sent aid to the Darkspear tribe in reclaiming their homeland, they also launched an attack against the Skullsplitters on the mainland. This battle took place between the arena and Jubuwal, the Skullsplitter capitol, as the Gurubashi look to cut off the supply route to the arena in hopes to reclaim it soon. The battle was a success for the Gurubashi forces, which was a relief after the recent events that have taken place since their leader fell victim of his current sleep like state, as the pressed deep into the Skullsplitter lands. They would have pressed all the way to Jubuwal perhaps had a distress call not been sent out to the offensive forces causing them to halt their attack and return back to their territory and deal with the issue. What they found was another attack by renegade trolls, this group much larger then any they had seen in the past months and these trolls seemed to have been decaying. Again the mindless renegade trolls struck hard and quick, but these were different as they had bandages all over their bodies seemingly keeping them intact. They seemed to not feel pain and would only be stopped by death, they had no fear inside them either as even when there were only but a few remaining, against the might of the Gurubashi army, they continued their fight. Yet, after the battle was won, the Gurubashi forces found no cauldron like they had the previous times and were led to wonder what was going on within their lands.
(Gurubashi: -30 warriors, -10 axe-throwers, -5 berserkers, -5 shaman.
Skullsplitter: -20 warriors, -22 axe-throwers, -5 berserkers. +1 level Ana'thek.)

Gurubashi and Frostwolf Shaman Begin Ritual - Once the Gurubashi shaman arrived to the location of Drek'thar and his Frostwolf shaman to examine the cauldron and hear the story of what happened, they began a ritual. This ritual was one to summon the shaman seen in the steam that hovered above the cauldron, it was a draining ritual and one that almost saw it's goal met. However, when they were closing in on summoning the shaman the cauldron errupted in bright red flames with a boom. A voice followed the flames telling them they would never identify him and the attacks would continue until the Gurubashi was under it's true and rightful ruler. That ruler is still unknown to the Gurubashi and Frostwolves, but they have begun searching for yet another cauldron to try the ritual once more.

OOC: Great update!

Great turn for the native Azerothians! A clan destroyed for lack of assistance from the north, and the Thorium Brotherhood, Dark Irons and Redridge Brotherhood thriving. Costly wars continue to rage in the north, but so it does in the south as well (though it seems to be moving towards an end). The Horde has advanced, and have multiple flanks to choose from, but are now isolated except by sea.
Hopefully the great spell will help put an end to my conflict here at the top of the world...

We will begin moving our troops in next month, as we are a bit tied up with things this month, and it would be too short of a notice to divert our current plans so soon. We need time to reposition our forces, but, we promise to send soldiers to Grim Batol within the next moon.

To: Bronzebeard Clan
CC: Dalaran, Stormwind
From: Clan Thundermar

We can send ye a garrison to help defend Grim Batol from any attacks.

Just to let everyone know, who still wants to be part of the NES, I am working on the update and I apologize for the very long wait. It should be up later today or tomorrow.
