PBEM game conversion to PITBOSS

Is it possible to play the same game alternatively by PBEM and pitboss? In other words, if I played a PBEM game, and took the save file, and loaded it in the pitboss - would it still work for me and the other players? And if we then played a few turns on pitboss, would it be possible to take the pitboss save file and continue on PBEM?
