Player data buttons

Hi guys, I have a simple question about the editor: WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF THE "RESET PLAYER DATA" AND "CUSTOM PLAYER DATA" BUTTONS? The editor's help doesn't start for me at all, so I have to use your help. Thank you in advance for any information. Regards!

Custom player data is basically an optional set of rules to override some of the default settings for civs and assign specific players. It's used for scenarios. Once enabled, it's accessible through a button on the toolbar that was previously grayed out.
